Been going to Kensington Pizza for about 35 years - it's Greek style pizza, which is my favorite kind. When ever my out of state family visits, they always want Kensington Pizza!! Flavors of pizza we order vary from the Special, to the Veggie, to the white Broccoli and Chicken with Garlic and more...all yummy and never disappointed. My nephew told me it was the best pizza he ever had. I was sold when he told me the crust was even good. This pizza place is small and mighty. There wasn't alot of staff but they are hiring. None the less the customer service was top tier. We ordered a sausage pizza and Caesar salad, bought were delicious! My salad was fresh and had the perfect amount of dressing, the pizza was layers of love. The crust was crunchy but soft, the sauce was yummy a tad bit sweet and the cheese was cheesing! I've had Kensington Pizza a few times over the years because a family member lives about 7 minutes away. Tonight, I needed to pickup up a pizza to bring home to Newington and Kensington was a convenient option. I ordered a large pepperoni and onion. The pizza didn't have a thick crust, but Kensington cooks pizzas in shallow pans that make the crust fairly crispy. The crust is decent, but not my favorite crust type. The pepperoni were standard size and good. The cheese and sauce were pretty good. The onions are thin strands and some strands got charred in a way that wasn't ideal. I've had pizzas from Kensington I've enjoyed more than this was one, but it was fairly good. I'd order from Kensington again if I was in the area. 3.5 Stars read more

Went to coles road brewing and wanted to grab a bite to eat after. Yelp pointed me to this place and we weren't disappointed. Hubby had chicken parmigiana and i had ziti and meatballs. Both came with warm bread and side salads - the peppercorn dressing was great. They don't have an alcohol license but it didn't matter since we had just left CRB. Only comment is the need to time the order better - my husband's pasta was steaming hot while mine was lukewarm but we knew we were going to have leftovers, so we focused on the pasta that was hotter - no big deal. The place was rockin busy and stuff happens - wasn't worth mentioning. Kensington Pizza has been in the same location for as long as I can recall. So long, in fact, that the last time I can recall setting foot inside was circa 1983. Most memorable, then, was that there were two table top style video games, that I was obligated to play; one was Targa, a slightly more sophisticated game than pong; and the other was a knock off version of Pac Man, featuring Disney-esc antagonists, rather than the familiar ghosts. The food? Much as today, nothing memorable, good or bad I ordered the calamari as an appetizer. At $8.50 the quantity was satisfying enough; but, the breading's taste was rather bland, and the somewhat weak marinara sauce did little to add to the flavor. If you like your calamari extra chewy, you'll like this. On to the main couse, a sasage calzone. So, first bite: crispy on the outside, soft and appropriately chewy on the inside, the bread had an airy texture, that was quite good. Second bite: plenty of sweet sausage and mazzarelle, but just a smatering of ricotta. Third bite: the ricotta just oozes out from the center. Collecting the cheeze with my fork, and applying the aforentioned marinara sauce, I was...underwhemed. Again, flavor was determining factor, and although I can't say it tasted bad, I can't say there was anything about it that stood out, either. The total meal was $21.00 and change. Fair, but not impressive or memorable. In conclusion, if thirty years from today you were to ask me about what I best recall about Kensington Pizza, it will likely be Targa and boot leg Pac Man from sixty years earlier. Pretty good pizza for non NY style. It's Greek style so it is a bit on the thick side. I ordered a large margherita pizza and meatball grinder. Both were not exactly what I expected but were good. The grinders are a good deal for an 8 inch for about $6. I expected the margherita pizza to be a traditional margherita pizza with fresh mozzarella, basil, and tomatoes. Instead, I got those toppings on top of regular cheese pizza. The basil was cooked to a crisp. The meatball grinder wasn't exactly meatballs either. It was thinly sliced meat or maybe meatballs. I hate to leave a poor review but you folks really need to step up your sandwich game. I ordered a whole roast beef sandwich tonight and I was incredibly let down as to how much meat was on the sandwich. There were only a few paper thin slices of roast beef on the whole sub. I felt like I was eating just bread and lettuce. I know the price of roast beef is rising and I would have paid more money for a decent sandwich. Decided to grab takeout form here on Friday night. In typical fashion everyone ordered their own thing. A small bacon pizza. A meatball and mushroom calzone. A sausage pepper onion pizza. And finally Greek lasagna. All the food was amazing and since we don't. Live far still very hot as we arrived home. Love their food one of the best Pizza places in town. The outside reminds you of a classic pizza joint, it's Greek style pizza which I don't mind at all. The pizza was delicious and loaded with fresh toppings. Crust was nice, light, and buttery. They have by far the best tuna grinders around. Went there on Mothers Day and had a very nice meal. I ordered the largest tuna grinder because I wanted leftovers and it was huge. Kensington pizza is Greek style pizza, which is, admittedly, not my thing. BUT for Greek pizza, this is really good. The crust is yummy - almost buttery. Mozzarella sticks were also a solid choice. Pizza is a big deal in Berlin. We have a lot of choices when it comes to pizza and they are all good (for the most part). My favorite is Kensington Pizza. I Love it. I grew up eating Greek style pizzas. I love the round, crunchy crust at the end of the slice. It makes it easy to hold, no need to fold it to eat it. My go to pizza is sausage with green peppers and mushrooms. The sausage at kensington Pizza is great, it's a loose sausage that is placed on the pizza in little chunks. As the pizza cooks the sausage browns up into what I think is the best type of sausage for pizza. The peppers are fresh cut green peppers the same ones that they put on the salad. I think the mushrooms come out of a can but having worked at a pizza place as a teen I know that when it comes to pizza mushrooms canned mushrooms are the best. I'm a simple man with simple taste (don't hate me because I like canned mushrooms on my pizzas). Kensington pizza is great Greek pizza. Perfect crust, lots of fresh ingredients, a great sauce all cooked to a perfect golden brown. When I moved to Kensington about 8 years ago I tried this place right away. I was so happy the first time I went there, and I am still happy. The place feels like the pizza place I worked at. Feels like home. Kensington Pizza has an old fashion feel to it. I don't know when they opened but I bet not much has changed other than the tv in the dinning area (they recently put in a small flat panel tv replacing the old tube style tv). There are about 8 booths and a couple of tables. They even have a counter with 4 stools if you choose. The place is warm and clean. I love the smell of the cooking food when you enter the restaurant. I've eaten there several times and my kids like eating there (single dad). Besides the great pizzas I also like the grinders and salads. The house dressing is great Tip: if you're having a party the party sheet pizzas are perfect. Each one can easily feed 6 to 8 people. Make sure you order the day before. If Greek style pizza is your thing and you likes small town places with a friendly staff then I highly recommend Kensington Pizza. I've always been very happy. This is a wonderful family run , local , old fashion , pizza place. It's located on a charming little street in downtown Kensington. It's not fancy. They don't sell beer or wine. It's truly a little pizza joint with great food and even better customer service. Their business seems to be mostly in the form of " to go" as the parking is on street only, however there is ample seating with both booths and tables. As a native New Yorker I will always prefer New York style pizza and their thin crust. However I must say Kensington Pizza is a good pizza and one of the best I have tasted in Connecticut. The crust is between New York and Chicago style pizza, not too thick and not too thin. The sauce is flavourful and cheese is good. Some may not consider the cheese when rating pizza but cheese quality can make or break a pizza. I like to order the meatball pizza when ordering pizza.
