I think some of the previous reviewers confused this with another company with a similar name :/We've used King locksmith for years and Eric has always been great!! Last Friday, we managed to lock ourselves out of the house while loading up the car for a trip, genius move huh? lol We were in a rush trying to catch our boat, and Eric was able to come out right away and he got our door open really quickly and for good price. Today, Eric came out again to add some night latch bolts on our doors. We have used Eric for this service before for our old house and was pleased. So two days ago, I locked my keys in my car. I called and got a quote and he showed up within a timely manner. Got the job done very quickly! Now, I've locked my keys in there again! WHOA!! Good luck getting a question out of the kid working there. She has a script and cannot go past one sentence. She talked over me in a louder voice repeating the same sentence. Started off really well with a good attitude and prompt visit. The commercial door lock mechanism ended up breaking as he was working on the frame, I told him to do what was needed to repair it and signed off on the additional charges. Fast forward work is done and everything seems ok so I get him a check. Next day I get calls from employees saying their keys won't open the door so they can't get in through the door he worked on. I haven't had this problem before so I told the receptionist to call Eric and have him back out to fix it. Over the phone he told her that it isn't related and if he comes back out he's going to charge us for it. I don't understand how one can replace the locking mechanism and claim that when the key doesn't open the door its not related when it worked years before the replacement? I'm not an expert but it didn't seem right so I had Chino Lock out and they said that the mechanism wasn't lined up right with something, they realigned it, no new parts needed and it's been working ever since. I think it costed me a $50 visit fee or something. Sorry Eric, if I had to have another contractor out to fix your work--that's a low rating in my book. read more

As Karen W. mentioned, the difference between King Locksmith and the "other guys" is like night and day. I called at least four other companies and was shocked to discover that most showed little to no interest in the job (changing locks for my business - $100 job) and without exception, they were all very impolite on the phone, which surprised me most. I was left with the impression that these guys must have unlocked the secret--pun intended--to running a business without any type of customer care or common courtesy. It never ceases to amaze me how rude some people can be and how the heck they stay in business, but enough about the other guys. Fortunately, Eric from King Locksmith welcomed my business and we were able to set-up a time for him to come out and switch out locks this morning. I had a last-minute change in plans, so we needed to reschedule the appointment, but Eric was very flexible to work with the new time. He was extremely polite & professional, and carefully explained the service and fees involved (prior to the visit and after inspecting on-site). The service is excellent and the fees are reasonable. I'm the type of person who wants things to be efficient with no fuss. Eric did that for me. His mobile locksmith business helps me save money. There's no additional charges like one place I called. One place gave me about 4 or 5 different prices for several things - service + parts + etc. Why complicated things? He showed up on time and got the job done once he filled us in with his knowledge of what we possibly need and what we didn't think about for the office we just got. We re-keyed the front door and got a padlock for the back with three sets of keys ($1.50 for a key after two free keys for each set). Overall, just a little over 100. Highly recommended. read more

I called another locksmith (who I didn't use) before I called King Locksmith. The difference was like night and day. I needed all the locks in the house changed, including one that needed a new lock entirely and another that needed a door knob. The first guy I called seemed to want me to provide the lock and door knob and gave one word answers to my questions. He also answered the phone with "Hello." That's it. No business name or anything. When I called King Locksmith and spoke to Eric, it was obvious I was dealing with a true professional. He carefully explained his rates and indicated that he has multiple different locks and knobs on his truck. The day of the appointment, he called before he came over and asked what color my front door lock was just to make sure he had the right selection on his truck. When he first got there, he walked through everything with me and looked at each lock, explaining the options and helping me select the best one. My main concern was security and Eric knew his stuff. Eric is the man! My son locked the door from the inside and walked out. Boom! Locked out. Eric arrived earlier than his anticipated time of arrival, which was great! I needed a locksmith to come and re-key our locks as well as add some deadbolts to the outer perimeter doors. I called Eric for a quote and he was very friendly, gave me great prices and when I told him I'd call back to confirm, he was still friendly (even though some others got impatient as if I've wasted their time!) I bought a house that had a sliding glass door in back that had a key lock, but I didn't get a key for it! There was also another sliding glass door with no keyhole, so it could only be locked/unlocked from the inside. I needed a new key for the first one, and a lock cylinder added to the second one, so I could enter AND exit from both doors. I called Eric and he was courteous, prompt, and professional. When I described what I needed he gave me very reasonable quotes over the phone, and we set up an appointment. When he came to do the work he was on time (in fact, he called to see if it was ok to come a little early!), friendly, and did the work quickly and accurately. He even made a quick trip back to his warehouse to get just the right matching part for my white sliding door - he returned right away and finished the job. Just like other reviewer said, their price on website was just a service fee. The real price was very expensive. I was told they would try lock pick first which cost $189, and if it's not working, then they would try air-bags which costs $269 or dill which costs $320. I end up paid $320 for one knobs drill and $19 for the service fee. I felt lucky I didn't lock the second lock. The service was fine and the door was unlocked pretty quick. read more

I needed a my car key extracted from my car. The key snapped right off, leaving half the key jammed inside the ignition cylinder. Eric was just around the corner when I called and was helping me out in less than 5 minutes. Even after he took the key out, he was concerned about the old lock and oiled it. He inspected, pointed out the problem and suggested "save-money" way to fix the problem. 5. He tried to keep the place clean as well 6. Price...hmm... over what I expected as I did not realize I have double number of locks need to be fixed, so still fair and reasonable.
