Writing this review from a service this morning in Fontana. Put requests out for a quick locksmith job. Instead of a text, got a call from some guy who said he was with Tom's Lock and Key. Could be here in 30mins great. Quoted me $95 to put a lock on a bedroom door. When done wanted to charge me $250 to just change the doorknob to one with a lock on it. After arguing a few mins, settled on $200 to get him out of my house. Asked for a receipt. Got a very generic receipt that didn't state actual name of Tom's Lock & Key but said 24HR Locksmith with a different phone number. Receipt name said technician was "Mike". Phone number was also different on receipt than person that called me. read more

Tom’s Lock & Key - They wanted $250 for this quick knob change! We could've done this ourselves with a trip to Home Depot. - Keys & Locksmiths Near Me

For a less than 1 minute job they charged me $228 and they did not even travel that far they were about 8-10 away from me. Also when I asked how much over the phone they did not tell me. But I was desperate to open my door. Guess they profit on people's desperation. read more

Quick and easy quoted 85 but note the service charge for calling them out +$35. Didn't really have an option.

My son locked himself out of his apartment near the UC Riverside campus. He called Tom's Locksmith based on the positive reviews. The man who came unlocked his doors, but charged my son $550 for this "service." Now, it was the day before Thanksgiving, but $550 is outrageous to pick the locks on two doors. I don't know if the tech was a thief and making up prices, or he took advantage of my son because he's 20 and young and inexperienced. Either way, I can't recommend this company. If the wants to contact me and offer a partial refund, I'll reconsider my negative review. read more

Created a duplicate for my Toyota, worked great. Price was competive and techician come to my house.

Leo did the service. we worked out a fair price for rekeying a lock. happy with the service.

I have nothing but good things to say about this company. The technician, Brandon, was very helpful, friendly, and prompt. I lost my house keys and he was able to open my door quickly and I was back in my house in no time. I would call again and request him, if I ever needed services again. From what I remember, he said he also specializes in key fobs, rekeying, and car lock outs. read more

Over the phone I got an estimate and once they arrived they tried to charge me three times the amount that was quoted. When I said I no longer wanted the service they got upset and tried to negotiate with me. read more

Awesome company. I sent a message around 6PM and Tom showed up at my door 15 minutes later. Took care of the locked door within a few minutes. Highly recommended if you lock yourself in, and need a fast resolution. read more

Was not cheaper than the dealer. You are paying for convenience. I recommend just going to the dealer and getting the namebrand key fob.

Called to have a locksmith come out. When asking for a quote I was told the technician would call and give me a price. Tech called but wouldn't give a price until on site when I was told $300 to unlock the door with an airbag. When I told the tech no and I'll just call the other company that would charge 150 the tech said they'd match the price. Such a scam to call a place that pimps you out to the highest bidder. I'll never ever use this business for any lock or key needs. Learn how to provide actual customer service or stay in your lane and don't act like you actually do anything to help people. Such a pathetic company to jerk people around just so they can get a contract with a locksmith who will rip you off. I promise I won't use your crooked company again if needed. I'd rather break a window and pay 300 or less to have it replaced than use your contracted company read more

Angel did a good job, simple rekey. Would recommend his service. Was able to come the same day.

Found the business via Yelp when I needed to change a lock at home. Its one of those Kwikset that you can get ar Home Depot, but I got stuck midway. Thank God for Tom's Lock & Key. They are quick to respond and I appreciate the communication. Their quote is reasonable and they get the job done quickly. There were a bit of a delay, but again, it was communicated and at the end of the day, they were responsive, reliable, and responsible. They accept card as a form of payment. read more

Ugh. My A.D.D self was doing too many things at once, as usual and I locked myself outta my garage...with all of my keys locked in the car. I called around and places in my location were giving ridiculous wait times. This company was there in 20-30 minutes and were quick. The locksmith was efficient and kind. read more

I used Yelp Projects to find an emergency locksmith after getting locked out of my home when my key broke off in the deadbolt. Tom's Lock & Key was the first to respond (almost immediately) and assured I could be taken care of. I think we had a little miscommunication about how long it would take to get to me because it took about an hour before arrival, but being that I got locked out at 9PM I was grateful anyone was able to come at all, it was just unfortunate that it was really cold out. Angel was the locksmith dispatched that came to my rescue that night, and he was amazing. He was very professional and got straight to work on getting my deadbolt open and my broken key extracted. Everything went smoothly, and Angel had me back inside within 30 mins and with the integrity of my deadbolt and door intact. Overall I was happy with the service and incredibly grateful to Angel for his kindness and professionalism. read more

Tom was quick and efficient in fixing our room door lock in a short span of time. We highly recommend him for any door lock related work.

Fast and reliable service. They don't over charge and are patient even in the rain.

I was in a bind and lost my car key fobs. He responded with a quote request and unlike many others I called he answered the phone on a Sunday evening. He said he would come out the next morning since it wasn't an emergency. Came when he said he would and called to even give me a better ETA on the day of. Friendly smile and prices were better than some of the other quotes I got and in and out in probably 10 minutes. I admittedly was hesitant because of few Yelp reviews but really happy I went with read more

My kids lost my keys. I spent 7 hours looking for them before I decided it would be best for my mental health if I just got another set ASAP. Other places said it would take days to get a fob ordered but he had the one for my car on hand. He answered the phone immediately and gave me a fair price for the key and key fob. He showed up within an hour and a half and was done in 15 minutes. I couldn't believe he was done so fast. Everything works great and we will definitely be using him again. Bought online for just over $100 only to later learn I needed to buy a programmer for over $100. Deceptive marketing and website. Ace hardware will provide, ut, and program a key for around $175. Amazon will sell a blank key for $10, Toms is $50. Great marketing in front of deceptive practices. Avoid! read more

I completely recommend Tom's Lock & Key. They beat the competitor's price and are mobile. Don arrived promptly and was completely professional. He programmed my key fobs in a matter of minutes, they work perfectly. I couldn't be happier. read more

After 3 days trying to put the new lock set in myself I called for help. The last locksmith 3 years ago couldn't fix the old lock and still charged us for work lasting a few days so I tried to start over. Unfortunately, no locks fitted the old installation. Apparently it is a thing with our old lock. Eric, knew what to do. He brought a new knob and deadbolt that fit and installed the one I bought on the back door. He did everything for a very reasonable price and was fast and friendly. I saved his number as he is the only person I will use from now on! read more

The service was fast and efficient. The vehicle driven to provide the service was a little questionable and did not exude professionalism and confidence. Nonetheless, the technician was stellar. Finally, it came time for payment and the technician did not take cards. I tried Zelle but it did not work and so we had to drive to the atm to get the cash. Transparency would have been nice in regards to payment options available. Thank you for providing quality service for a fair price. read more

I called this company, and a lady answered the phone. She took my information and said one of her technicians would call me. A guy named Brandon called me and said he would come to my residence to see the job and quote me. Some shady youngster showed up in a black car with an Amazon magnetic door sticker and a kid in the passenger kid holding a dog. His price was ridiculous. I told him I didn't want the service because it was too high, and he rudely demanded I give him a service fee. While standing on my property, he insulted me and took a fighting stance . I told him in a very firm tone to get the 'F' out of my house. He continued his rude insults. He lost the battle and left, which was probably the smartest thing he did. DO NOT TRUST IN THIS COMPANY! They are brokers who hire shady individuals to have copies of your keys and access to your possessions and family.
