Definitely the most amazing wine and dine experience in the Pacific Northwest. Top notch service and exceptional views!

King Estates used to be my favorite restaurant in the area. However, my last visit left us very dissatisfied. I was there with two friends for lunch. They had crab cakes that were the size of a quarter. The bread priced at $1.00 was very good, but gives you a bad impression of the restaurant! Why bother!!! The service was poor. Menu very limited!#The waitress took our order, delivered our food (mine was wrong, so it went back), disappeared and returned about 30 minutes later without my order! She had forgotten that mine went back. My friends waited to eat until mine arrived, so they had cold, tiny crab cakes. Won't be back!! I want my old King Estates Restaurant back with great selections, reasonable lunch prices and great food!! Locals know about the changes. They might be able to get by with the seasonal guests, but the regulars have caught on! Come on Chef!! Let's bring everyone back the things we loved about my favorite restaurant! ! read more

We went there for dinner last night and it was wonderful. We had a window table with a view that took our our breath away. The other half had steelhead that was cooked perfectly - he even ate some of the brussel sprouts it came with. I had leg of lamb that with some amazing northern beans. Our server recommended a light pinot noir that suited both of us. All in all it was a great evening! read more

I was expecting better honestly. Small portions for the price. Most of our food was a little on the salty side too. I did enjoy the burger. We were there for Saturday brunch and our service was great (in contrast to what others wrote.) I didn't like the house "ketchup." read more

We came to King Estate for my birthday dinner and were pretty disappointed. We had seen the menu prior to making a reservation so we definitely knew we would be spending some money, but the whole place felt really pretentious. My filet was overcooked and definitely wasn't one of the better steaks I've ever had. The views are very pretty but not for being treated poorly and mediocre food. read more

It pains me to write this review because my past experiences would be 4 star but I can barely justify 2 stars. We went for brunch and didn't realize they had changed their brunch menu. We could barely find anything that we wished to order and when we asked why the change we were told there is a new Chef. Since this was supposed to be a special brunch with my Mom we stayed but none of us were very happy with our food. What used to be a special and lovely place to go is no longer. As usual the service was excellent but we no longer like the menu offered. read more

Breathtaking!! A geogeous view on the patio. A wonderful lunch menu, and the service is impeccable. A "must" for that special memory...

It is really a 4 + star restaurant. The food is excellent and the service as well. There is only a dinner menu and the prices are on the high side for lunch. Our server Riley is knowledgeable about the wines and food service. Good job guys, see you again. read more

We went for lunch and it was great! The view is amazing and the food is equally as good! We got wine flights, a cheese board, and lunch entrees which was perfect! read more

We were after a fine meal that the reviews and myths have portrayed. While listed as Eugene, it is in Lorane, a small community in the middle of nowhere, 1/2 hour south of Eugene. The architecture is large and indistinctive but pleasing and comfortable. The employees were friendly, courteous and helpful. The wine is quite good, though I am not a fan of their estate wine, Pinot. They carry wines from other areas that are more pleasing. I have experience as a pastry chef and have worked in many other types of kitchens. So when the rack of lamb was placed before me I immediately knew, even without tasting touching that something was quite wrong. I am not trained in methods of saving time at the expense of quality, so I was unable to figure out exactly how the cook (not chef) had prepared this meal. The lamb bones showed no sign of having been heated. There was no charring or browning even at the tips. The fat on the outside of the lamb displayed the same condition of somehow being cooked without a hot flame. The meat was bland and tough, and difficult to cut off the bone or into bite-size pieces. However, it was an enormous serving. The carrots were cooked in a similar manner. They were shriveled but not browned in spite of their small, thin size. The rest of the plate was the same. The charcuterie was ??? not good. The oysters were great. The wine was great! Of course this will be the first and last time I go there. It could be that it was one of those off days. I have nothing to compare it to. It cost over $200 for 3 people with one bottle of wine and no desert. Oh! I almost forgot. . . I did not have desert because I learned before hand that the desert was baked by the same person that baked the bread, which edible but lamentable. My suggestion to a staff member that asked how we enjoyed it was that the restaurant needed a clean sweep of kitchen staff. Final assessment: 1 star for the food and 5 stars for the wine. read more

The food was very good, in fact one of the best meals I've had in a long time! The place is beautiful! My only complaint was the service. They forgot to bring us a bread basket twice, forgot our steak knife- had to wait a bit for them to realize we didn't have one then go get it, and Didn't refill our waters until we flagged someone down to do it. This would be okay at most restaurants, but when you spend $150 for dinner you expect a higher level of service. read more

Stopped here for lunch while passing through the area and it was excellent!! The view is amazing, the grounds and facility are beautiful. It was very busy for mid-afternoon on a Tuesday, it looked like a large group on a bus stopped in so we didn't want to wait 45 minutes to sit on the deck, so we sat inside. The atmosphere was upscale, refined even with white linens - tablecloth and napkins. We had two 11 year old boys with us and we were still treated with utmost respect, they even offer a children's menu. I felt completely comfortable with the boys there. I ordered the Estate Pastrami - not something I would typically order - and it was outstanding!Homemade bread and the pastrami was quite lean, not too fatty which I appreciated. My partner ordered the roast chicken and he enjoyed it very much. The truffle fries were perfectly seasoned and crispy. My boys ordered burgers off the adult menu and both exclaimed how good they were. The service was outstanding, we were attended by more than one person throughout our meal. Our server took the time to explain all the wines to me. The wine was great too, I ordered the Pinot noir flight and enjoyed each one. The server was even kind enough to bring me a few samples of their whites too. I liked them so much I ended up buying a bottle of the Unity! Overall a great experience and I would definitely come here again. read more

After having an atrocious experience with flies at the King Estate Winery Restaurant in October, I was encouraged to continue to try and connect with the manager there to explain my unhappiness. Reluctantly, I pursued one of the managers and after describing my bad experience, was invited back for a dinner for two on them. My daughter and I decided to go for a dinner on Christmas Eve. It was a 180 degree difference. The restaurant service and food this time was wonderful and there were no pests at all probably because of it being cold outside. Their food and wine is some of the best I have ever tasted. I highly recommend this place for the food, wine and experience , however I personally don't trust their control of pests yet so I will only go in winter or early spring. It's a must try though!! read more

I came here in the summer for a wine tasting but of course after a few tastings our stomaches began rumbling so we decided to have lunch on the patio. It was a beautiful day and the view is stunning while looking out over the vineyards and into the mountains. We chose to get the cheese plate, a burger and a french dip. While their lunch menu is on the expensive side, the food didn't disappoint and the service was on point. My french dip was cooked perfectly and the truffle fries....oh my the truffle fries. They probably have the best truffle fries I have every had and you can even see little black specks of truffle on them. Most places only use truffle oil but I liked that they go the full mile and give you actual truffle flakes. The cheese plate was beautifully presented and everything paired very well together. My boyfriend loved his burger and we were very full at the end of our meal with leftovers. Like most places, it's probably best to come here for lunch because I'm sure dinner is more expensive. I would love to come back here again for another special occasion and the drive out to King Estate is so beautiful on a nice day. As for their wine, we enjoyed it but it probably wasn't our favorite we've ever had. The woman who poured our wine was very friendly and attentive and that made our experience pleasant. read more

This is the best food in lane county. My very favorite place to celebrate, or go out for a special night. The wine is great food is amazing, and the service is always grade A. read more

Five of us had a birthday dinner recently. Wine list superb and waiter very knowledgeable. Meat dishes excellent. Salmon not so. Moderate sized piece of salmon on a large bed of green lentils, did not complement the fish. Next time we will ask for a side of potatoes. Beet salad excellent. Caesar salad hidden from view by a blizzard of shredded parmesan. Next time we will ask for less cheese. Desserts excellent. read more

We had an anniversary late lunch with wine tasting here and had a memorable day. Both of us had the lamb shank over beets, quinoa and french beans. Was a generous serving so took half home. I would have never thought to combine beets and lamb shank but it was perfect. Started with a wine flight and later finished up tasting at the wine bar. We sat outside and the view is spectacular. Best meal and ambiance in the Eugene area. And the story of the winery is special too as it is an all organic farm and supplies the largest amount of pinot gris in the world. Definitely plan on having a leisurely meal there; service is somewhat slow but on a special occasion that is just fine. I heard the tour is great too so we'll have to go back. read more

Absolutely wonderful, view food service. Sat outside, had crab cakes. Two flights of wine, red blend was our fave. Food and wine pairings were great read more

I also hate writing this review but I know businesses depend on good reviews and repeat customers. My birthday party was in a limo to visit 4 local wineries. There were 7 of us and I chose King Estates as our first stop so we could have a nice lunch outside. The fun stopped there! I did not get the wait persons name but she was blonde, hair tied back and very tall and slender. From the moment she approached our table there was a "better than you air about her" No smiles, no nothing just curt and matter of fact. Two of us asked if we could split the salad, a Cobb and she said "well, I guess so" as if it pained her to do so. Bottles of wine were ordered appetizers as well. This gal had a smirk on her face the entire time. She acted like it was a real imposition to serve us. I had half a mind to just walk out But, I had 6 others to think about. This person should be in the kitchen not with the public. (zero personality) There is more but you get the idea Of course I will go back to King Estates because this is just one very rude person and I enjoy going there very much. It did however put a very sour note on my party. Lastly when the Cobb salad came she brought one large salad, no side dishes so we could split it so I asked her and it took her literally 15 minutes to get those extra plates to our table. Most fine restaurants offer to split it for you or serve on separate plates as a courtesy. I am hoping this gal got other verbal complaints and that I wont see her next time I visit. I do not enjoy writing a bad review but I felt I needed to do this. read more

Just finished an amazing dining experience at King Estate Restaurant. After buying a flight apiece at the tasting counter we were seated, and given the opportunity to order our wine selection, appetizer, salad, and entrees. We had crab cakes, and yes, there were only 3, but they were moist, not a hint of fat or oil, and delicious. The salads were okay, not very special but I liked the pumpkin seeds in mine. We both had the Rib Rye entree. It's at the top of their menu as far as price. $29 is spendy for a Eugene restaurant. This was the best plate I can remember eating. The steak was cooked to my liking, and the roasted vegetables and accompanying port wine sauce complemented the steak superbly. I loved the complex interplay of flavors. I would not complain about the size of the dinner entree as some reviews have. I think it was perfect. Last, but by no means least, I need to express my appreciation of the excellent service provided by the wait staff. We both felt so pampered! They were all attentive, brought us extra goodies to try, and responded positively to a couple of minor complaints my dinner partner had about her steak. We will definitely return when we have a special occasion to celebrate. It's too rich an indulgence for more! read more

I want to love King Estate, and I do love the wine and the setting. But our last experience had unacceptably long waits for food (45 min) and the manager offered to subtract the included gratuity because of it-- we didn't want to penalize the wait person (it wasn't her fault). My food was great but some in our party were disappointed. This is the second time in a month that service was terribly slow. read more

I cannot begin to explain how much my wife and I love to come here for the wine, food and experience. For a restaurant the drive is a little far, but for a winery its really not that far out of town. The food is always incredible. I have eaten at a lot of really nice restaurants in different cities, states and countries and this is among the best. I can pick an item that I wouldn't normally like and still love it. Lots of meals as a high end restaurant and plenty of great options for lunch as well. Sometimes I am torn when I come here to celebrate a special event because I know I should get a steak or seafood, but I am tempted to order the burger with truffle fries because it is just that good. This is where I proposed to my now wife and where we ultimately always decide to go for anything we want to celebrate. If you are celebrating you can basically count on amuse-bouche. They know how to identify when to give you special treatment and they definitely will upon request. I have gotten special seating in a private room a few times and they let me go up to the top of the tower to propose which they lit up with candles. The building and its surroundings are beautiful. They have tasting room and tours of the winemaking facilities. All of the staff are great a lot of them remember us when we come. I highly recommend coming here if you live in the area or making the trip if you don't! read more
