Greeted immediately and were welcomed by a fellow native Minnesotan who took time to talk with us about her time at the UofM while helping with our tasting. As a beer fan, the Willamette Valley is known for amazing hops and beer, but also for grapes and wine. Some of my traveling companies love wine as well, so they chose a few wineries to visit. This one was highly rated and ended up being one of the first and largest in the area, with an indoor event space, outdoor concert stage, and plenty of parking. It's out away from Eugene, but a beautiful drive to get here. We visited shortly after opening on a weekday morning so it was basically all to ourselves. Two of my friends chose tasting flights, the attendant led them through a tasting which included a background about the winery itself. She was professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. Silvan Ridge Winery is located roughly 30 minutes from downtown Eugene. It's got indoor and outdoor seating (depending on the weather one may have a preference). It's got several tasting options for wine- things Oregon is known for as well as other varieties. Felt like pours for tasting could have been a tid bit more. Food is limited - onion dip is pretty tasty but, not really a full food menu here- focus being wine. Don't come here for a culinary experience. Depending on how many people are there the staff can get overwhelmed at certain times. read more

Tried out this winery since it's not that far from my house. I loved it. I made a reservation and was sat outside on a beautiful day. They had a few different flights to try out which is more choices than I have seen from other wineries. They have a sweeter wine which I love. Since I love my dessert wines but don't really find them here in Oregon. The customer service is great. The ladies that helped me were lovely to talk to. I also tried their dark chocolate basil and strawberries which was delicious. I recommend coming here to enjoy a nice day. read more

I enjoyed trying the library wine flight. My husband enjoyed his pinot noirs. The charcuterie plate is a nice variety of tasty treats for a decent price. It is out in the country but easy to find. The wines offered are sure to please even the most seasoned wine drinkers. Our wine hostess, Cathy, was hilarious! She treated you like family and didn't hold back on her personality. That is a nice way of saying she knew her audience well enough to be brutally honest about her thoughts. She is originally from the Midwest and so were we, so we had that vibe of "my state is better than your state" going on. We loved our experience so much we came back another day for a delicious bottle of wine to enjoy by their fireplace and to talk more with Cathy. I think each group we saw while at Silvan Ridge was enjoying their experience with the wine and atmosphere. We will be going back on our next trip. read more

Another wonderful visit!! We were gifted a certificate for 2 wine flights, charcuterie board, & truffle tray. Made a reservation online for indoor seating and enjoyed a cozy, intimate day date on the couches with our array of delish snacks and wines. We got one white flight, and one red. We shared and truly enjoyed every wine. Silvan ridge really has their wine perfected. We are never disappointed! The charcuterie board was ready for us and we devoured it. The truffles were truly delicious. We were tempted to get more. So tasty. I purchased a bottle of wine to enjoy a little and take the rest home. It was a great visit. The ladies serving us were so personable and kind! We love celebrating here. The building is so cute and intimate. The views are beautiful and the drive is so peaceful. We recently went here on a Sunday with some friends. It is a short beautiful drive from our house. They are located across from Sweet Cheeks. Last time we had been here it was pre Covid during the summer time. I am pretty sure they had a pizza cart or something at the time. This time they didn't have any food carts. Just the charcuterie's we're available. Which they were actually really good. Our friends also brought some snacks to snack on. They ordered the Rogue Red flight, and we ordered the winter white. I enjoyed pretty much all of them. We ended up getting a bottle of the Riesling while we were there, and bought one for home. Our friends enjoyed the Elizabeth...I think is what it is called. One of the reds. I will have to say I was surprised that I liked the Riesling. I usually do not like it. This one was really good. I really also enjoyed the atmosphere here. My husband and I have been wine club members at this particular winery almost since the beginning of their day in making wine. We've gone through a few different winemakers and nothing seems to diminish the quality of their wines. This afternoon we went down and enjoyed the taste of almost all the reds, we made our choices and came home with seven different wines What also makes this a great winery is the staff who provide you with food and beverage. Cathy, Jennie and Lydia are so warm and enthusiastic, always smiling. They do a great job with COVID protection and offer online reservations for tasting. You can order food at the same time as you reserve your spot. As a result, when we arrived, our table was ready and our food came within minutes. And did I mention the view? Lovely Western facing, great for sunsets, Their wines? Wonderful whether you are a red , white or sweet wine drinker. They also feature the Artwork of local folks, ever changing and fascinating. The wine list is a Willamette Valley based Pinot with grapes out if the Rogue Valley to round out a very extensive list to choose from. We found a very nice sparkly Muscot that really caught our attention along with some other nice choices. The tasting area was a very nice presentation of the valley with room for events and scheduled get togethers during the summer. A definite must visit place and just across the street from Sweet Cheeks, another place that is a must visit. read more

The wine was good. But Cathie was the bomb! I met my music soulmate unsuspectingly, as we hustled into Silvan Ridge Winery just 10 minutes before they closed for the day. With a hesitant smile, I asked if she would kindly allow us to do a tasting, as we had traveled all the way from San Diego. She exuberantly said 'of course'! As she quickly grabs us glasses and the first bottle to taste, Metallica comes on in the background. Am I hearing this correctly? Are you playing rock music in your tasting room?! Yep, she sure was. We proceeded to have a convo about rock music, how there is nothing else like it. But sadly, there is a lack of new and upcoming rock bands, and rock fans, in this day and age. (I hate you pop fans and pop music!). Cathie continued to shared information about the wines as we tasted them, and we continued on a fast and furious chat about Guns N Roses, ACDC, and this lovely red wine in hand. Meanwhile, my friend Tina was snooping around, and boy am I glad she did. She caught the folks working on the press machine at the end of their work day. Cathie let us step out back, and one of the super nice guys working with the grapes answered some of our questions and showed us a few things. What a COOL experience to be there during harvest and see first hand the machines at work, and talk about the delicate grapes, the harvest process and more.
