Silvan Ridge hosted our wedding in August 2022. Lydia was fantastic to work with and was so helpful in the planning process. The staff of Silvan Ridge was wonderful and made our special day as perfect as we could imagine. The venue was beautiful and perfect for a mid-August wedding, and we could not be any happier with how our wedding turned out. Silvan Ridge is the perfect winery to get married at and we are so happy to have celebrated with all our friends and family in such a gorgeous space. The spot where our ceremony was overlooked the vineyards and the hills of Eugene and was picture perfect. Inside, the winery's event space was the perfect size for our 75 guests and allowed for enough space for dinner, cocktail hour, wedding party getting ready space, and plenty of trips to the bar for glasses of wine or beer. Intimate and beautiful, Silvan Ridge is a must see on your winery tour. They are welcoming yet somehow untouchable. Its just the beauty of this little nook of a valley, I think. Wines are delicious and they offer a discount after 12 wines, if I remember correctly. They are generous with their wine tasting so it's kinda hard to remember :-) I'd definitely go here again, way before I'd try their neighbor on the hill, Sweet Cheeks. I love wine and often go to wineries for the experience and atmosphere. I was so excited to go to Silvan Ridge since I have heard amazing things, but unfortunately my time at Silvan Ridge was one of my worst experiences at a winery that I have ever had! A group of friends and I had made a reservation for Father's Day, and I was so shocked by how horrible the customer service is here! The older, blonde, thin lady that was supposed to be helping us had only come to our table a total of 2 times for the whole 3 hours that we were there (it wasn't like we were just sitting there, we were planning to spend a least a couple hundred dollars)...when this woman would come to our table, she would always look so annoyed and would make us feel very uncomfortable! We actually had to get up and find someone for help multiple times since apparently our lady was too bothered to give her tables any attention. I was understanding of all of this, and thought maybe this is just an off day for Silvan Ridge, however what had happened while we were leaving has made me never want to come back to Silvan Ridge ever again! We had to find someone else to close out our tab, that woman had black hair and was so lovely! However, as we were leaving the older thin blonde lady had stopped us as we were walking out to "confront" us about not paying our bill!!!! When we told her that we had already paid, she told us that she didn't believe us, and we had to show her who closed out our tab...We were in the middle of the tasting room while this woman tried to accuse us of not paying in front of everyone! To make matters even worse, after we had explained that we had paid and even showed her who closed out our tab, THIS WOMAN FOLLOWED US OUT OF THE TASTING ROOM!! I have honestly never been so humiliated in my entire life...I will never be going back to Silvan Ridge, and I highly recommend supporting another winery that does not try to humiliate and acuse their customers of not paying a bill they have already paid! read more

I tried this winery because Sweet Cheeks was too busy. The staff wasn't too friendly so it was kinda awkward asking to sample their wines. To make up for the bad customer service it was having a live band so we decided we would stay. The scenery wasn't that great but they do have grass for the kids to play in. We ordered some pizza from their kitchen and the food was mediocre. I would definitely stick with the wine. I haven't been back but all in all it was a cute little winery and the pricing was great. read more

This is one of my favorite wineries outside Eugene. It has a very family, personal feel to it- and we have loved sitting down and getting to talk with the ladies who work there! They always have several wines that are free to taste, and a very reasonable prices for a bottle. Great place to sit, relax on a chair outside or by the fire place, and bring a picnic!! Their reds are phenomenal. Super friendly staff! We love coming Friday nights for live music on the outside stage (seasonal). We bring our kids and they can dance and play. Wood fire pizzas are served-or you can bring your own food and have a little picnic accompanied by great music, ambience, wine with a laid back feel....bring your dog too if you like! This winery is our absolute favorite wine club that we are apart of. The staff is friendly, the wine is amazing, and the property is stunning. JP does a wonderful job on his wines and Angela is a great leader of the Silvan Ridge Team! I love the Muscat, I buy about a case every other month, but we truly joined there wine club for their REDS: they are to die for. From their reserve Pinot (our Fav), new Pinot, to Malbec (Made my an Argentinian), Cab Franc and Cab Sav, A new Tempranillo, 2 Syrah's, and a delicious blend called Elizabeth's Red, finally a to die for Syrah Portage. If you have not visited this gem near Eugene, Please do so, I hope your pleasantly surprised how amazing everything is. Went to a wedding there last evening. The room we were in had literally thousands of fruit flies everywhere. The guests had to move everything outside. Fortunately it had stopped raining. We had to go back in there to eat. The food was very good. The staff was good. But the bugs were everywhere. We had to put napkins over our drinks. The cake and cupcakes were covered in bugs. Silvan Ridge Winery is so close to downtown Eugene and the drive out there is calming. When I arrive at Silvan Ridge, I'm always greeted with a warm hello and delicious wine. One of the best parts is that the team knows me and remembers what I enjoy! They ask me how I am doing and they truly care. The view is simply breathtaking and their indoor and outdoor seating fits any preference. They even have a fire place, which makes enjoying red wine even more cozy. We couldn't be happier about having chosen Silvan Ridge as the venue for our wedding and reception! Lydia, their event coordinator, literally treated us like family. She spent hours with us to get the details just right, and she was as enthused about it as we were. Wedding planning during a pandemic isn't easy, but Lydia adjusted as conditions changed and suggested solutions that turned out perfectly. On the day, she and her staff had everything set up beautifully, and she worked with our caterer, florist, DJ, photographer and videographer to make sure they all had everything they needed. When we booked those other vendors, by the way, they were all excited to be working another event at Silvan Ridge, and we completely understand why. Went here with a group of friends at the beginning of summer on a hot day. I'm still new to wine and I liked every wine I tasted, which was most of them. We went here for some wine tasting and enjoyed our experience here. We were the only ones to arrive at first and the lady was very friendly and welcoming. The wine tasting was free which is nice. We like it when the pourer is chatty, and she was just that and was a joy to talk to. After a little while a few others came in, but our server was still attentive. The wine was above average. I think there was only one that I wasn't loving, but the rest were very good. We even bought a bottle of Riesling. The prices were very reasonable! The setting was pretty too. Not as panoramic as Sweet Cheeks and King Estate, however there was a nice view and the building was nice as well. read more

This place is right across the street from Sweet Cheeks. They were pouring more of their wines but also for free. For most of the time, we were the only people there and enjoyed talking with the woman at the counter. They don't have Sweet Cheeks' view or outdoor seating but it is still a nice place. read more

Our group was somewhat disorganized, even tho we called ahead. We had add ons last minute and were relying on groupons. The staff were very accommodating and provided a tasting regardless of the shortage and a second plate of goodies. Their cheeses and chocolate were impeccable. They even provided two other tastings for the entire group. Very classy, definitely a more generous and welcoming spirit than across the hwy. We were set up in the large room with two big beautiful tables, Christmas tree and view of the country side. We have been members for years. We love the family atmosphere and the personal service, and especially their reasonably priced wine!

Yesterday's visit to this winery was most disappointing. We had hoped for our typical enjoyable time learning about and trying new wines. Instead we were engaged by a hostess, who, after a perfunctory greeting, clearly signaled no interest in us or any potential sales to us. She offered no information about the winery or their selection of wines. Individual pours were lighter by about half of any we've experienced before. When we pointed out to our hostess the customers being served by the other hostess had pours that were 2 to 3 X greater than hers, she dismissed our comment by saying the other hostess was being overly generous. She seemed quite annoyed. The second round she grudgingly increased the pour by a little. We foolishly thought the third round was going to be better, but she reverted back to inadequate pours. We were done with her and the winery. In the past year we've been to dozens of wineries both domestic and internationally, often buying a bottle or two to help solidify a good memory. It seemed to us our hostess doesn't understand the purpose or her role in the wine tasting experience. I've never reviewed a winery before, but this experience was so extraordinary, I felt I needed to warn others. read more

This weekend we were looking for somewhere to sit outside of the sun and read our books with a picnic, after deciding we didn't want to head to Skinners Butte we decided on Silvan Ridge. We brought our own picnic and bought a chilled bottle of the 2016 Sauvignon Blanc, dry and fruity, and the perfect Sunday. After we had been sitting outside for an hour they brought us cold waters and checked if we needed anything outside, unusually thoughtful for an Oregon winery. I've been a Silvan ridge wine club member for a couple of years, ever since we dropped by on a Friday afternoon and JP gave us a tour of the winery while waiting for their last shipment of grapes from eastern Washington. The Silvan Ridge Crew then let us watch as they sorted grapes, and even let us participate! Silvan Ridge continues to deliver great experiences and memories, from the Friday night summer music series, to the annual May membership dinner. Of course the winery experience is only part of the fun, and as an acids and tannin nut, I love all of their red wines, especially the Syrah and Malbec. The dry whites are delicious, and they even make a muscat and Riesling for those with sweeter tastes. I also appreciate how they support community organizations and host several fundraiser events a year. Kathy mentioned that they are generally busiest on weekends at 3:30. Coming at lunch with a picnic is the perfect time to enjoy the great hospitality and bucolic view. read more

Stopped into this winery on our trip to Cottage Grove, 23 miles from our hotel. A nice ride through the country landed us at a beautiful little property with great views. We are wine enthusiasts from the Napa/Sonoma area and found this place to have gold medal award style wines. We tasted a Pinot Gris, different varietals of Pinot Noir, along with a few other great reds as well. All of the wines are very fruit forward and this is a definite must for anyone who enjoys great wine. We opened up and enjoyed a bottle of Pinot Gris on their nice patio and soaked up the outstanding views and all of the wine too. We also had a very nice chat with their winemaker JP who was very informative and knowledgeable and you could tell Silvan Ridge Winery is at the top of their game. My wife and I visited Silvan Ridge the other day and enjoyed our wine tasting experience there. First of all, the location is beautiful. Second, the staff was knowledgable on their own wines (which is something we sometimes don't see...) Third, the overall quality of the wines was good. We especially like the Cabernet Sauvignon and the Elizabeth's Reserve. The tasting is free unless you want to try some of the wines on the back of their sheet ($2 a taste). The experience was what we were looking for in wine tasting; friendly knowledgable staff, beautiful environment and good wine! read more
