We arrived on a weekday afternoon, and were the only people there. The man helping us did not offer any explanation about the wines or the vineyard, was dressed super casually in a tshirt that was rumpled and dirty fingernails. We were members for over a decade and in the last year or so have become less and less impressed with the winery and the direction it seems to be going in. I believe Spindrift was the winemaker's first label and were transitioning into the Compton Family Wines label during our visit. The Winemaker's last name...only makes sense...duh! There are small handful of Urban Wineries in Philomath. Compton Family WInes has a nice elegant tasting room. There are board games, cards and a few other stimulating distractions to keep the young ones occupied. At the time of our visit, the tasting menu had seven options for us to enjoy. I found the wines here to be very good, with very reasonable prices. I still can't believe the tasting fee was only $7. The staff is was very friendly and knowledgeable. We ended picking up a couple of bottles... Love the Sea 02 label. Artistic, creative and eye catching...and the Rose was nice and refreshing as well. I'll definitely visit again if I'm in the area...
