We've been to Tyee a couple of times, once pre-covid and once during covid, and it's a lovely place to sample and buy wine. The grounds of the property are open for guests to explore, which makes it the perfect option for wine tasting during the covid-era. They have orchards, vineyards, benches and picnic tables, all spread out throughout the property. It's a great place to wander while sipping through your wine flight, whether you come during covid or not. This winery has done a good job following precautions during this season, so I wouldn't hesitate to come in. They are using plastic cups for tastings for the time being, and as mentioned, everything is outdoors and very distanced. I personally really enjoy their Gewurztraminer, and they have a couple of good Pinots as well as some other whites. Bottles are pretty affordable and staff is friendly--they even have a staff dog who of course, loves to receive pets. If you need a quick and easy getaway, this is your place! read more

I have known of Tyee winery for 25 years. Their wine is distinct and the best quality!

I fell in love with this vineyard. It's like walking through a dreamscape. Hazelnut orchards, giant oak trees, little trails through the woods, and the most picture perfect swing I've ever seen. I was expecting to fall down the rabbit hole into Wonderland at any moment. Is that the wine talking? Maybe. Regardless, this place is really cool and you should go check it out. They had a nice variety for tasting. I believe it was 3 whites, and two Pinot Noirs. The [red] pinot's were lovely, like all NW pinots. The Pinot Grigio really surprised me. I generally don't like that varietal, but I liked this one enough to order a glass of it, and then later buy a bottle (sorry, Pinot Noir). My recommendation to you: Wait for a lovely sunny day to go here, and wear walking shoes. Taste some wines. Request a picnic basket of snacks (they only had one basket, so request it when you get there). Go take a nice walk. Swing from the oak tree. Admire the hazelnut groves. Then go taste some more wine. *and they're dog friendly. read more

The Willamette Valley has some of the world's finest wines. I've always known this but never knew exactly where this funny sounding valley was located. I had a wonderful xmas trip visiting my sister's new house in Corvallis and while there realized that I was actually sitting and breathing in this Willamette Valley! While they were still asleep, I got in my brother in law's sporty car with his digital camera and their lap dog and took off to see what I could find. The drive was scenic, uncrowded, and beautiful. The road was hilly and woodsy, perfect for touring, the dog was happy, and a great local station (88.7) was playing some great tunes as a soundtrack. I felt like I was in Europe (except driving on the rt side of the road of course). It was a great day. Much more relaxing than the napa/sonoma zoo. The winery is located on a large estate and the owners live on-site, next to the tasting room. The owner was very friendly and had a lot of interesting facts to tell me about the site and the wines. He poured a few whites and two pinots. All were very, very good - and I normally dislike white wines. The pinot noir select was one of the finest wines these lips have ever touched. Yes, I shipped some bottles home. I can't wait to share them! The site is 600+ acres and has some walking trails. It is magnificent. Part of it was given to a nature reserve. The lap dog was in heaven staring at the woods and the animals within. I can still taste the pinot noir select. See you soon Tyee! The land is beautiful!!! We went to the "bounty of benton county" concert event they hosted. It was a great setting, great food, wine, weather. I love their Pinot gris & their gewurztraminer. When we visit vineyards, I really appreciate a pourer who is personable-- it can really make the experience. The girl who was working at Tyee on the afternoon we visited was great-- very knowledgeable and friendly. It didn't hurt that the wine we sampled was excellent as well; the pino gris was particularly good. Tastings are $5 (refundable with a bottle purchase), and the tasting room is small but really unique. It's located in an old milking barn, and as you sip, you're able to check out the artwork for sale in an adjacent room. I'd highly recommend a visit! read more

Um, yeah. I blame this place for my current Pinot Grigio obsession. Went here for a show last year. There was an Irish rock band whose name I can't remember playing and it was amazing! I am from the prohibition capital so just couldn't believe you could buy a bottle for roughly $15 TO GO. Basically you just spread blankets or chairs out on the grass and enjoy!! If I could move to this part of the country I would in a heartbeat. If you are in the area definitely check this place out. The wine is reasonably priced and great! I am picky about the wines I drink because it usually gives me headaches and I could drink this stuff all night long. And I literally did. It is such a fun environment. And it is the first time I have seen dreads since I have been in college which is a definite plus!! read more

This place is a gem. We called them in January assuming they'd be closed for the season, but someone actually picked up and allowed us to come by for a tasting on a Sunday morning. The man who helped us was knowledgeable and friendly, and even opened up a more expensive bottle of wine than originally planned because he really wanted us to taste it (it was his favorite). He then gave us a discount on the bottles we bought! The wine here is incredible, and the whole experience was well worth the trip. Highly recommend it! read more
