Excellent plain glazed. On my travel route this morning, I chose this donut shop out of many on Yelp due to the 41/2 star average on 28 reviews. A pleasant surprise was an out-of-the-ordinary shop, friendly owner, and very good plain glazed. Perfect,thin,sugar glaze, protected a perfectly puffed donut underneath. Not too sweet and the dough itself had a certain Je ne sais quoi! Her selection of other pastries included a fantastic-looking cronut I'll return for. 7 on the Best plain glazed measuring stick. I hate to do this but.......it's bad y'all. We have come to this place EVERY Saturday morning for 9 years. They have always had the BEST donuts in town I swear it. Until they sold it a short time ago. The donuts used to be fresh, and sweet, and the kolaches were stuffed perfectly. Now, with the new owners, it's all bad. Like, terrible. I cannot believe they wouldn't purchase the recipes from the previous owners, or if they did, then they just don't know how to cook. The donuts are not fluffy but compacted almost like they were overmixed. The sausage, egg, and cheese kolaches are now greasy, overstuffed, and I am pretty sure not fresh. They don't even look appetizing. This bums me out so much because we have always loved them but we are on the hunt for a new donut place now. :-( read more

This is by far one of my favorite places to get a basic donut or sausage roll (kolache) in McKinney! First thing's first, the service is amazing! I'm always welcomed with a warm greeting and the staff is super friendly. Next up, they have CRONUTS and booooooy are they good! I didn't know if this was something I'd enjoy, but decided to give them a try and now I'm hooked. What's better is that with my order of a jumbo kolache and cronut, I was given a handful of complimentary cronut holes - not donut holes, cronut holes! My food always tastes fresh, which is really important. They also have a nice selection of donuts, kolaches and other specialty pastries. Something for everyone! The icing on the cake was that the jumbo jalapeno bacon kolache I ordered came from a fresh baked batch, not their display case - now, I'm unsure if this happens for everyone, but for my stop at (practically) 7AM I was pleasantly surprised with this minor act of courtesy! Prices are reasonable and comparable to other donut shops (aside from the fancy places) Even with Shipley's (sorry shipley's) recently opening up across the street, I will absolutely be returning to buy cronuts and kolaches for myself and my corworkers in the future. I love this place! Best donuts ever! They recently just opened last December and it is owned by Koreans (most of them are). When you first walk in you don't see the donuts.. you see the cute decorations inside. Yup this donut store is decorated with cute disney characters and a princess like theme. Next your eyes will fall on the diverse selection of donuts to kolaches. I had the jalapeno kolache and the apple fruit kolache, both were fantastic! The jalapeno kolache wasn't too overly powerful spicy but it went well with the sausage. The fruit kolache was something I haven't seen at any Korean donut store.They had strawberry, cream cheese and apple but I went for the apple. Unlike some fruit kolaches, their's had more filling and a 50/50 ratio of bread and filling. I didn't get to try their donuts because it was almost noon and most of the donuts were gone. They do have other breakfast items like burrito and sandwiches. On a rainy and cold day, donuts are good with any hot drink. read more

Definitely a hidden gem. We went to Cremcrittos but they were sold out. This was at 10am. However, this place did not disappoint and glad I tried this place. Their croissant jalapeño and cronut are a must try. Customer service is definitely great. I appreciate hard working people and how they have to deal with difficult times and especially customers to make sure they leave happy. Place is clean and well kept and meeting covid restrictions. I suggest arriving before 10am because they begin to sell out of favorites. Glaze donuts are generic. The variety of Kolaches is what makes this donut shop different. The women who work here are very friendly and the shop is great for little kids. They have life-sized Minnie and Micky stuffed animals and Disney characters on the tables, making it a nice spot to treat my daughter to on occasion. Really good breakfast bacon/egg croissants and rolls. I highly recommend them. Donuts are super fresh and delicious. I appreciate how they throw in extra pastries with purchases from time to time. My experience was much different apparently. Half of the store was very clean and nicely decorated. The other half (not included in the pics) looked like a storage facility. They had open crates packed with everything from juice to cleaning products. Maybe a bit picky but I thumb supplies whoops be kept in the back- not in front of the counter with the customers. My major complaint is the pricing on the menu is not accurate. Typical bait and switch. I ordered two dozen thinking it would be about $13 based on the menu pricing. They charged me over $20. I looked a little confused and the woman said basically my price is different than what's on the menu...? Sad experience. I live right around the corner- I'd be here weekly but I don't think their business practices are very honest. Donuts were fine though. Just donuts, nothing special. read more
