Initially, the prices seemed fair, and the owner appeared friendly and accommodating. However, I soon noticed something off. When my breakfast was served, items I hadn't ordered were included, and the owner insisted I take them, causing my bill to rise significantly. I didn't say anything and just paid. The next day, it happened again, and when I questioned him about the high bill, he insulted me, saying I ate too much. I had thought he was nice, but this showed a different side of him. Despite being a hardworking and respectful customer, I felt unwelcome. On my last visit, the owner was unfriendly from the start. He complained about my indecisiveness, even embarrassing me in front of other customers by saying if I found the prices too high, I could go elsewhere. This negative experience overshadowed what could have been a great diner, and I won't be returning.

Now for the food which is quite delicious. The ingredients are good and the dishes are well cooked. My wife and I typically get breakfast there. She loved the spinach and feta omelette. The fact that it is offered with rye toast is a delicious addition. I've tried the pancakes which are light, fluffy and tasty. I've also had the Italian omelette with the rye toast of course. It was delicious and fresh tasting. I highly recommend this place, anyone who treats his customers as warmly as this man does while serving good food deserves a lot of business.

The bread? The meat? The condiments? The sauce.. gravy, francese, red sauce? The originality? What happens if you find all of the above in one shop? And where would you find it? Answer: Charlie's Sandwich Shop I am a long time resident of Bay Ridge and this is THE FIRST time I have tried a sandwich here. Mind you, my friends have raved about it. The shop is a gem and the options are plentiful. Every sandwich offered sounds delicious and there are weekly specials like Shrimp Parmigiana and Chicken Francese. I decided to go with the "How You Doing" sammy which consists of fried chicken cutlets, roasted peppers and fresh mozzarella on a toasted hero bread. The preparation took around ten minutes but the wait was worth it. The craftsman who prepared it handed it to me and said " Now here's a sandwich and it is going to take a bit to finish".* I replied " Yeah, a whole week"! Lol! I love the charm of the place; there are little gems, statues, pictures, menus adorning walls, counter and behind the scenes. Charlie's Sandwich Shop in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn is owned by Charlie Bellomo along with his father, Salvatore Bellomo. This duo are serving "grand slams" sandwich style. I see many sandwiches in my future not just for me. How you doin? Just fine after tasting this delicious work of art! * take a look at my sandwich pic, tell me it is not the size of a boat? I had a 1/3 of it and saved the rest for future meal.

From the beginning, we focused on simple American breakfast and lunch made with care. Over the years, Pegasus has grown with the community, becoming a steady place for everyday meals and familiar faces." Pegasus is a longstanding landmark in Bay Ridge. I wouldn't call it a diner per se because it is cozy with a few booths and a counter. I would call it a classy coffee shop. The menu has something for everyone: burgers, eggs, pancakes, salads and all the comfort food from home made for you. I had some errands to take care of on 86th street so I decided to stop in; I haven't dined here in a while. Pegasus is not just for Brooklynites, many patrons come from Staten Island and other far away places. As I stood on line I heard " I made a reservation is my table ready?" "45 minutes wait?" and I said "I'll take any seat even the counter" as I was told 30 minutes for a seat. Then, 10 minutes later, three seats opened up at the counter. I found my seat and reviewed the menu; I was in the mood for a turkey burger but they do not offer it anymore. So, I ordered an Impossible Burger deluxe and a cup of coffee. The coffee was served piping hot and it was delicious! Then, my burger came out.TBH I didn't know what to expect. I spread some mayo and ketchup on it and took one bite... delicious! It really tastes like the real thing. The fries were plentiful and also scrumptious. The service was on point: iced water served, coffee cup refilled and love the fact there are extra napkins in the bar to take which I needed. The burger was a little messy but worth it! It is not hard to understand why Pegasus has endured; simple food cooked like a home meal, cozy environment and great service. Pegasus Brooklyn 8610 3rd Avenue 8:15-4:30pm
