Food poisoning I got very bad food poisoning after I ate there . I ate only seafood because I don't like to mix food types. Food tested so bad but I was hungry so I had to eat. Well it's a buffet. That being said the trouble is the same as every buffet everywhere. Stale food. And temperatures. This is Chinese food. The waiter kept the glasses full ( that third star) but over all I wasn't impressed with the food. They have a large selection and it's roomy inside. This sucked. First off every single thing I tried tasted like dirt, they even messed up fried fish (it was mushy inside) their deserts where mediocre except the fruit salad with half of the bin filled with water, I understand fruits are moist but that amount of water does not come from a spoonful of tangerines. At the end of the day I was extremely pissed but saw they had steam buns and went to try them, I spat it out onto my plate as soon as I could taste it. There was a minced grey matter in there that was not any meat I was familiar with. I went home and took a 3 hour nap, as soon as I woke up I threw up and there was everything I had eaten. I'm not sure why I expected the food to be any good. Unfortunately I have a soft spot for Chinese buffets. Let's start with the place itself. Filthy! Sticky tables, dirty blinds, dead flies in the window sills, and greasy plates. As far as the food goes it was mediocre at best. I'm pretty sure all the chicken was beaks and buttholes. Hard grisly meat. The flavor wasnt bad but it was hard to eat when every other piece went crunch. I usually would fall back on the sushi if the other food was t good but that was garbage too. This was my first time here and I got a to go order which costs $15.14 with tax for an adult dinner (no longer the $11.49 price on the yelp menu photo). They had a good variety of foods with little to no redundancy so each dish was distinctive and well seasoned. The restaurant was well lit, very clean and well maintained. They even give you gloves to protect your hands from the shared serving utensils. There's plenty of hand sanitizer available and all staff and guests were wearing masks. I arrived less than a half hour before closing so I wasn't expecting everying to be plentiful and super fresh but I was pleasantly surprised to see that they were still replenishing the food even that close to closing! Everything I got was delicious! I was particularly impressed with the sushi where just a basic California roll was made with very little rice which was soft and well seasoned and they use a good tasting surimi (also used their crab salad with olives that was very good) that wasn't tough or fishy tasting. We're from LA and we were on a road trip. We wanted to grab some food so we decided to try this buffet. The line was super long but the service was really good and we got our seat pretty quickly. Have been here twice and have always found the food to be well prepared and hot. The best things are the fried fish and the chicken wings. Hate to give it a 2 star because the people are nice but I have 3 little girls and had they been with me today they may have choked on a bone. There were bones in the fish(teriyaki salmon). The buffet is very yummy when the food is fresh and kept full. we have ate here multiple times because I get a craving for sushi and Chinese food.. well there has not been ONE time where my water was filled within 5-10 minutes of it being empty. They would clear our plates and they would obviously see I didn't have water but wouldn't fill it till I either waved them over or waited till they finally noticed. I went there a couple months ago it was 8pm we went to the buffet and there wasn't anything out like they trying to save food or something. There's a lot of customers and no food being cooked. When we asked them where all the food was at they took there sweet ass time to cook it when they are supposed to make sure there's food till 9pm smfh. I revisited this place after not going for 3 years. Last time I was there, I got very sick, let's hope this time I live to see another day. I was invited for lunch this time. I must say that the food here is really, really bland. I tried a few of there dishes that included potstickers, orange chicken, fried rice, sweet sour chicken, pizza, fries, spinach w/cheese. Also, all the food was really cold. If I were to have a blind fold around me and these dishes were served to me, I would not be able to distinguish which was which because none had any flavor! Food is decent. However,they advertise crab legs but will only have one tray and once it is gone no more crab legs. King Buffet is a scam stay away unless you intend to rent out half the restaurant for a party. I booked half the restaurant for about 100 people and paid l less $1000 for food and drinks. Horrible service and not so great food! The waiters are sooooooooo unprofessional I get it that they need breaks , but all the waiters take lunch breaks all together and leaves us the customers without a refill on our drinks! And then the food could have been better they use spaghetti noodles for the chow mein which makes the food very bland and no flavor.
