The lack of consistent seasoning and slow service makes Cafe India a no go for me. Having always taken my meals to go, I found that items were always packed well but the expected wait time to be excessively long. When I pick up my food, it takes 40 minutes or so for it to be ready despite the tables being empty. Although there were 4 total spice levels, they practically tasted the same. The extra spicy would be equivalent to a medium elsewhere. *Mango Lassi: yogurt heavy and the mango was very light. Sour and sweet but not as refreshing as others I've tried. *Garlic Naan: my favorite item as this bread was smothered in garlic. The naan was soft and stretchy with subtle browning. Wished each order came with more pieces but it was worth the extra 50 cents from the regular naan. *Chicken Tikka Masala: lots of tender chicken was included but I've always found a piece of gristle. The portion was decent but the sauce was incredibly bland. The flavors were muted and I craved additional spices and fragrance. Given the wait and higher prices, I didn't find the quality to be worth it. Perhaps I'll stop by for just the garlic naan but Cafe India doesn't have the depth of flavor I crave from Indian cuisine.

the service here is great! our waitress Denae was so kind and helpful with recommending dishes for first-timers. the inside of the restaurant is clean and cozy, perfect for family dinner. the food tasted very fresh and flavorful. i recommend the chicken tikka masala!

We had an amazing experience at Cafe India. Our waitress, Denae, was incredibly sweet and knowledgeable and she recommended the chicken Malai to my sister. It was soooo delicious. I had the chicken tikka masala, and it was honestly some of the best I've ever had. The spicy garlic naan wasn't that spicy but it was soo savory and fresh! The vibe was on point too because Vance's playlist really brought the whole atmosphere together. He makes a mean vodka soda. Great prices too. Can't wait to come back!

Food was amazing! My boyfriend and I were very impressed. The waitress was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and took the time to give us some suggestions as to what to order. Prices were reasonable and servings were large! We ordered everything mild to medium spice and it was perfect. We ordered Chicken Tikka Masala, Paneer Korma, Rice Pilau, and Garlic Naan. For dessert, we took the crème brûlée cheesecake to go. The only thing was the garlic naan being cold, it would have been better warm! We will definitely be back!

Absolutely phenomenal food and a decent price. The waiter was kind and toleted our obnoxiousness (or was at least trying their absolute best. I had a great time and a fantastic 18th birthday.

Well what a transformation at the restaurant and upgraded all the teams chairs and headed a bar Supreme customer service and you must try chicken Vindaloo (spicey).

Went with a few friends and the food was amazing! I absolutely loved the chicken tikka masala and naan. The portions were generous for the price point and could be shared between 2 people. However, the only downside would be the wait time. It's understandable, we went on a weekend during dinner rush, but it took nearly 40 minutes for us to finally get our food after we ordered. Two other tables sat down after us and still got their food before us. Finally, when we finished and tried to pay we had to stand and wait because no one was at the register. Would I go again? Yes, but definitely not on a weekend during dinner.

Another local gem! Very clean, updated interior. The sever greeted me quickly and the food came right away. The chicken vindaloo was sweet, spicy, hearty on top of the beautifully cooked basmati rice. The garlic naan was amazing. Definitely recommend this place! And the price is so nice as well.

The two times we have been here we have had to wait a bit to get seated, but totally worth it! It's a smaller place with only a few staff, but cute and cozy. The food thus far has been amazing. I love chicken tikka masala, and theirs is top notch. The sauce is creamy and flavorful, and they really listen to the spice level you ask for. The garlic naan is light and buttery, and I love the basmati rice with the sauce over it. I'm always stuffed when I leave because it's so hard to stop eating, everything is so good! Will always come back here for guaranteed delicious Indian food in Visalia!

First timers here, and food was 10/10. Ordered upon arrival and it took a little while to be ready. Definitely recommend calling ahead or online ordering. The staff were nice. However, when getting home we noticed we did not get the (1) chicken masala but instead of 2 butter chicken. We were hoping to try 2 different entrees but it was fine. The butter chicken & rice was yummy. Was hoping more flavor from the garlic naan but still yummy. Will definitely give it another go but dine in instead.

Are you open today, Christmas Eve?

No, unfortunately we are closed today. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Are they still having lunch buffet?

I’m honestly not sure. I recommend you call them. I doubt they would have it because of COVID.

Is the lunch buffet on fridays as well?

Yes it is! Although currently the dine in area is closed until the governor announces it is safe to do so again. Take Out is still an option though as well as delivery!

What time do they start the buffet?

Lunch buffet is from when they open until 4pm weekdays.

I went with the Juju Bleu, Calamity Jane, and Betsy Ross. I'll admit, I'm usually not a fan of bleu cheese, so I'm not sure why I picked the Juju Bleu--but I'm glad I did. It was surprisingly delicious. The Betsy Ross was solid and classic, with Thousand Island sauce--tasty, though nothing particularly standout. The Calamity Jane was the clear winner for me; the combination of sautéed onions, barbecue sauce, and mushrooms was absolutely spot-on. We also upgraded our side to clam chowder. It had great flavor, though it was a bit thicker than I prefer--not a dealbreaker by any means. Service really made the experience shine. Paula was phenomenal--attentive, friendly, and quick to check in on us and keep everything running smoothly. Overall, this is a great spot for lunch with friends or coworkers. Since it's right on Main Street, parking can be a bit tricky, so I'd recommend using a nearby public lot and taking a short walk over.

Review: A Triumphant Return to Pita Kabob…read more Rating: It had been about five years since my last visit to Pita Kabob, and I'm happy to report that it remains one of the best spots in town. From the moment we walked through the door, the service was seamless; we were greeted immediately and seated within just a few minutes. The Vibe & Menu The menu strikes a great balance--large enough to offer a deep variety of Mediterranean dishes and libations without being overwhelming. We noticed a fantastic selection of drinks and settled on a few ciders, which have been our go-to lately. They were the perfect crisp pairing for the meal ahead. The Main Event: Mediterranean Pitas We decided to stick with the classics and ordered the Mediterranean Pitas: * Lamb Pita: Rich, savory, and perfectly seasoned. * Filet Mignon Pita: Incredibly tender and high-quality protein. Each pita was packed with flavor and offered that satisfying "fresh and crisp" crunch in every bite. The portions were spot on--filling enough to satisfy but leaving just enough room for a side. Don't Skip the Fries We couldn't leave without sharing an order of their fries. If you haven't had them, they are an absolute essential for the table. Final Verdict Five years is a long time to be away, but Pita Kabob hasn't missed a beat. Between the efficient service, the flavorful entrees, and the great drink selection, it was an amazing experience. We won't be waiting another five years to come back!

Elderwood is located in the darling hotel in downtown Visalia on the rooftop, it's a small beautiful location with indoor and outdoor seating, we decided to sit outside the weather was nice but there was a bit of a breeze we asked of a heater could be brought closer to us in which it did when we were done with our dinner. My friend and I dressed up nice only to find people wearing sweatshirts sweats, jeans and whatever else they found in their closet next time I know I can just come as I am, but hey we dressed up to feel good and look out best and we did! Our server wasn't very attentive she only had one other table outside and didn't seem to engaged we started by splitting a Caesar salad and ordered a lemon drop martini, we sat and chatted then she took our entree order in which we both ordered the roasted chicken. And have had excellent service, and superb food. However, tonight I have never been so embarrassed and disappointed. My friends got there before me and were all enjoying drinks and appetizers at the bar when I arrived. The restaurant was quite busy due to prom. Even the elevators weren't running properly due to kids wanting prom photos inside of them. I made it to the lounge and walked up to the bar to greet my friends, and was immediately confronted by a waiter who told me,"This isn't a standing bar, and there are no empty seats. You'll have to go down stairs and wait for us to let you know when a seat is available." I've never been so humiliated and embarrassed in my life. There are so many ways this could've been handled differently, politely discreetly, kindly, but this was the choice, to publicly shame me for greeting my friends and "standing" near them for less than 2 minutes. We were celebrating a friend, and were planning on drinks, appetizers, and dinner. With there being 6 of us, and that would have been a sizable check. I went down to the concierge, explained the situation, and asked who the manager was, only to be told that this is the restaurants policy. She looked at the video of the bar and said, "it is really crowded at the bar right now", to which one of my friends who left with me said,"yeah, that's our group, and now we are leaving". The concierge came over and gave me a card to contact someone else. But it was little too late. I can't recommend this restaurant due to such rude service.
