Finally a buffet in Visalia I can compare to the ones back home. The pricing is a bit off even with taxes it didn't add up to what was displayed but nowadays everything is expensive. There is a large selection of foods and they were all good! I like to judge Chinese places by their chow mein and there's was 4/5! I might have gotten lucky but they were bringing out fresh food every 5-10 minutes. The orange chicken was sweet with a hint of spice. The only thing that lacked was the desserts. There are different options but not very appealing. The ice cream was also lack luster. It tasted a bit watered down. It's self serve so the service you get is really up to you but the bussers were really attentive and were constantly cleaning up tables and the floors. When we walked in the place was pretty full but it kept getting fuller and fuller as the night went on. Surprisingly it wasn't overly loud or anything. Seeing the koi fish after was nice. Called to make a reservation initially for a party of 19, one week before my dad's birthday and they were able to accommodate. A few days before, I learned there would be six more attending so I called back and they said it was fine. The party was 8/4/2021 (Wednesday) at 4:30pm. I arrived 45 minutes before and they had our party reserved in their banquet room. We were able to decorate as it was a surprise birthday party for my dad. The process of paying for all attendees was super easy. The manager and staff were excellent. The food was actually super fresh. I am not much of a buffet person; however, the entire restaurant was super clean. They issued gloves to wear while you pick out your food. I was super impressed. We had the banquet room for 2 1/2 hours and we did not feel rushed at all. Staff constantly checked in with us to ensure we had everything needed. I went to King Buffet in Visalia, CA expecting to eat good quality Chinese Food but that was far from the truth. The silverware and plates seemed very unsanitary and the restrooms were very unkept too. While eating the food I noticed several problems with it. For example, I took a bite out of the pot stickers and siu mai dumplings and it was completely pink inside. As well as the food being completely bad quality. I will definitely not go to this restaurant willingly unless they start to make some changes to their restaurant. read more

Look what I found in my broccoli beef...a live maggot!! When I showed our server, the manager came over and offered me half off of MY plate only, the equivalent of about $4. Really?? We went here on Sunday and was only expecting to pay 8.95 per person however it was $11.95 I was told because of it being a Sunday. Being that the Sunday price is not posted this is the only reason I am giving them 3 stars because the food for a buffet is not bad. I love fish they had descent sushi the shrimp were just mush though. If it had only been $8.95 a person I would have given 5 stars because you really complain at $8.95 for all you can eat when a value meal at any fast food is that or more these days. They need to fix their website to match proper pricing and post it or tell you about it when they seat you. read more

I had been told this was a great place to eat in Visalia. So I decided to give it a try. I was really disappointed. The selection was mainly seafood, which is ok if you are a lover of seafood. I would have liked some chicken and beef options. The broccoli beef had lots of broccoli and 3 pieces of beef. Not sure if someone ahead of me picked out all the beef or if that is how they fix their broccoli beef. The fried chicken had a lot of gristle in it and the chow neon was made with spaghetti. Overall taste and quality is very mediocre. Price is a little steep for what you get. Dinner was 11.99 and the soda was .99 On the plus side, staff is very friendly and make sure your glass is always full and dirty dishes removed in a timely manner. I have a tough time faulting this place. People need to align their expectations with the great value for money. I was very happy with what was on offer for $12.95 a head. The dishes I enjoyed included: - crab rangoon - Orange Chicken - Crab Legs - Coconut Shrimp - Some of the sushi role options - Biscuit Donuts (big winner!) I will start off with the staff, they are not approachable and are rude the time that I was there I did not feel welcomed. When I asked a question it seemed as if I was bothering her. They were very kind when my family walked in, even when they were going to close in 20 minutes. Their prices are shown when you walk in. As for the food, it was okay. Some of the foods were really cold once I got back to my table. As for the taste, some of the food had a bitter taste, as if they had been left out there for a long time. The bite size shrimp tasted extremely stale and the beef broccoli was really bitter. They took back the rice when there were customers still in the restaurant. 05-20-18 Just thought I'd give my 2 cents for this place... I've been coming here for many years since I was a young pubescent child. Since then, never have I NOT enjoyed this place. I mean I'm a simple guy, and it's Chinese. What's there not to like? One thing to note, this place is one of the better buffets (perhaps maybe the only buffet) in town that is both decent and affordable. I'm guessing that's why this place get so busy on the weekends. OMG I love this place! My favorite go to foods are the pizza, the shrimp, the chicken wings, french fries, and the potatoes. I've been going here since I was young, and the staff there are always kind and helpful. I also love the variety in their sushi which is a great deal at a low price. I personally like mixing some of the shrimp & cucumber dish with rice which allows the sauce to seep into the rice and make it taste even more delicious! This place was an alright place to eat. A lot of the food was cold by the time I brought it to the table (which didn't take me very long to get there lol) so that was kinda disappointing. I don't want to eat cold chicken The desserts were also pretty damn depressing. They didn't have labels for them. So I feel like there could be an allergy concern there. I've been coming here prior to COVID. When I saw that they reopened I was excited and told all my coworkers as they too were patrons prior to COVID. I came, paid and got my plate. On my way out I had a few items that would get ruined by the lid if I closed it on them (sushi). So I opened the plate and placed them on the side that is the lid. As I was getting my drink to exit the cashier yelled at me from the register that I couldn't do that and was very rude. There was other customers there and even they commented to me that she was rude. I will not be coming here again. I will make sure to tell people about my negative experience. I cannot believe that people are trying to support local business during these tough times and the staff are going be rude and belittle their patrons. Terrible experience. My husband and I both love coming here. He loves that they have sushi and fills up on that. All the while I enjoy a variety of the yummy hot food. My favorites are the honey chicken, pineapple shrimp, cream cheese rangoon's, garlic string beans, and for lunches they have delicious creamed spinach. King Buffet is your typical American Chinese buffet. Its cheap and you can load up on all your salt/grease/MSG for the coming week, ok maybe month. Staff are friendly. However, if you're like us and only desire to eat a reasonable amount of food, you either have to flag someone down or wait foreeeeehver to get the check. I just assume its bc so many people make 37 trips to the food they can't believe you're done after 1, so I don't really count it against them. First off every single thing I tried tasted like dirt, they even messed up fried fish (it was mushy inside) their deserts where mediocre except the fruit salad with half of the bin filled with water, I understand fruits are moist but that amount of water does not come from a spoonful of tangerines. The restaurant was clean for The most part, But the staff was rude and it seemed like an inconvenience to ask for a refill on our drinks. Sticky tables, dirty blinds, dead flies in the window sills, and greasy plates. As far as the food goes it was mediocre at best. I'm pretty sure all the chicken was beaks and buttholes. Hard grisly meat. The flavor wasnt bad but it was hard to eat when every other piece went crunch. I usually would fall back on the sushi if the other food was t good but that was garbage too.
