Excellent variety of Americanized Chinese cuisine. Everything was hot and ready. Hibachi was available and one member in our part got a plate from that section...said it was well cooked and just what he wanted. Decor of restaurant was fine and everything appeared to be clean and functioning. Can't say anything super about the friendliness of the staff overall, but they weren't rude, just not what you would hope from southern hospitality. Four of us went for lunch, a late lunch on a Friday! Usually one of us doesn't like something about the place that we go, but this time we were all in agreement. The food was great. No complaints. We are four women who have different tastes and this is the first time we enjoyed what we ate and how the place inside looked and the cleanliness and the attentiveness of the servers. They kept taking our dirty plates away! The hot tea was hot and tasted very good. There was plenty to choose from, and we were extremely impressed. I don't know what happened here, but it's possible this place is a victim of covid downsizing. Whatever the reason, the food overall has fallen dramatically in quality. The to go buffet food was limited in selection and was stale compared to the fresh, hot selections last time I visited about a year and a half ago. I wish there were an option to give two different ratings...one for the quality and pricing of their food and one for service. For food, I would honestly give 5 stars. For South Eastern Kentucky it's probably the best one could find. However, there are two waitresses at King Buffet who are the absolute worst and they deserve not even one star. For months these two women, whomever they are, have done their level best to always make my autistic son and I feel so unwelcome. I would like to say here that the male waiter is not included in this review. He is wonderful and so welcoming and kind. I can't pronounce his name, let alone spell it. I hope he sees this review so he will know how much we appreciated him. Anyway, there is so much that has happened in the past few months with their behavior towards us that this review would turn into a book if I listed everything. I will say these women are the absolute rudest, laziest, unprofessional waitresses I have ever come across. It is clear that they are family, else they would have been fired a long time ago. It's also clear that the owner, whomever they may be, care nothing about losing customers. How do I know this? Because one of the young ladies at the register has told us that the owner is aware and that there have been so many complaints against them and yet, they are still there to continue treating customers badly. What a shame and kind of sickening, to be honest. If one wants to eat there, that's great. Just spare yourself of the women waitresses and go any day except for Mondays. They're noodles are actually the dreads on the bottom of a mop, they have raw fish on the counter and it says in Mongolian that you have to ask the cook to cook it and there isn't even a cook let alone any workers it smells like dead bodies and I'm 83% sure that I heard a cat meow in the kitchen... read more

Staff is rude, they didn't have a lot of food options, the food was cold and old tasting, last time I came here it had pizza, watermelon, etc. Now it has none of that, the only thing I liked were the mozzarella sticks. Very disappointed, won't be back. read more

This place has never been an amazing restaurant, but we took a chance today for a quick bite and it was awful. The place smells like stagnant water and something else I can't quite place. It is not very clean at all. Most of the food looked like it had been on the buffet for hours and was also somehow cold. Wait staff was not friendly and never spoke directly to us. I have mixed feelings. They do have a great selection and good food, generally. But the one time I have gone here in the evening (as opposed to around lunch) I got food poisoning. the last time i went there, the price had went up, not a problem. i happily paid and my wife and I took two different areas to see where we wanted to start. Want Chinese, trust me go somewhere else. Take your money somewhere where they appreciate it! Ok we hadn't eaten at this place in long, long time but our daughter and son-in-law came in town and wanted some crab legs so we thought we would stop by........BIG MISTAKE!!! We went in and the first thing off the bat is my niece didn't like Chinese so she decided not to eat and while we were being seated the waitress tried to have her sit in a seat that she chose for her. She actually said "you not eating, you sit here"! RED FLAG NUMBER ONE! Then they brought out the drinks and they taste more like water than soda; RED FLAG NUMBER 2! After a long wait she finally brought some refills in pitchers and about poured it on me while she was pouring them. But the icing on the cake was this. At the end, while my wife was paying out the waitress started cleaning the tables and I didn't want her to think we weren't appreciative of her service so I told her that we would leave her a tip on the card. So whenever we went out to the car two woman came out the restaurant frantic, almost like they were chasing someone that had stolen something. They started looking around and they started looking at us and we got concern so my wife ask if something was wrong and the lady didn't even acknowledge she was saying anything. I was already in the car and we have tinted windows and then.....she started looking in our vehicle! Next she begin opening my driver side door to our vehicle. She was looking for me, and when she opened my door and found me, I ask her what was wrong I thought something happened to our card didn't go through or something but no......she said TIP!!!! I turned and ask my wife if she put the tip on the card and she thought I had left it on the table but these people came out of the restaurant looking for us like we were criminals! The worse I have ever been treated I mean I could see that kind of behavior if we stole something, or tried to cheat them out of something or the card didn't go through but........for a TIP!!! As a frequent customer for several years I am sad to report the King is dead. The reports of rude (almost hateful) staff are true. Absolutely awful! We had not been there in a very long time. Food tasted like it had sat there and had been heated over and over for days. $40 for 3!of us and none of us could eat it. Up until just now king buffet was my favorite chinese place. I would travel from manchester just for their food. My 3 year old and my one year old toddlers had already eaten their happy meals when we got there so they werent going to eat. When i got my plate and sat down my 3 year old daughter asked for one of my rolls. At this point as any parent would do, i gave her my roll it was the only thing she asked for. The waitresses came straight to our table and said she couldnt have anymore unless i wanted to pay $6, and made it seem as if i cared to pay $6 for her to eat. I got the roll for myself and she didnt want anything except a roll that mayne cost them .20 which i put in my plate i was paying $13 for already. I dont mind paying for it but she looked me dead in the eyes and said she cant have anything else. She can if im paying for it but she didnt want anything else. She sat there the entirw time while we ate and never asked for anything else. Its sad that they made a scene and embarressed me and my fiance in front of everyone over a roll that was on my plate to begin with then she actually reached out and pyshed my 1 year old sons hand away from my plate i had in front of me. The floors are nasty and badly stained. the walls are dirty, dust bunnies hopping everywhere, booths are falling apart; I cant imagine what the kitchen looks like back there. Several food items tasted old or re heated from day before, they do not rotate just keep pouring more food on the top, so stuff in middle and on bottom gets old as mammie and pappy. The grill idea is nice but a slack selection of grill items, spices and sauces to choose from. That being said the food over all was good tho I was a bit dissapointed in a few of there items especially the sesame chicken which was tough and over done.. my main complaint is their bathrooms they were not clean the stalls had fecal matter on the toilet seat and the too small garbage can was welllllllll over , overflowing.and unless your anorexic your not getting into the stall easily.I have seen shady truck stop bathrooms less dirty. I would be terrified to take a child into that mess. So if your looking for a decent eatery then give it a shot! The King Buffet has the largest selection of Chinese food in Corbin. It's one of my favorite places to eat.

First off I did not have high expectations of an Asian Buffet in Corbin, KY. It met my expectations it was subpar at best and made me feel sick afterwards (pretty standard at Asian buffets). Sushi was dry, chicken was too sweet and Mongolian BBQ was bleh... Egg rolls and crab puffs weren't bad and the localized items were interesting. In fairness I only went there because all the other restaurants were too packed on a Sunday. read more

This place has great coconut shrimp, the stir frys there are very scrumptious. The ambience is very nice, and the restaurant is always clean. The Kings in Corbin has gone down hill so bad. I used to love this place but I will not be going back. The front of the place at night looks like it belongs in a horrible ghetto somewhere not right on the main highway. We arrived at the restaurant​ at 9:15. They supposedly close at 10:30. They sit our party of five and it wasn't until this point we notice that even though they are supposed to be open another hour, they closed most of the buffet down already. While we got our food they were literally taking up the trays. I asked for cocktail sauce while the lady was putting all the spoons into a bucket so she used a dirty spoon from this bucket to dip out my sauce needless to say if any shrimp was ate it was dry. They shoved all the food together in as little trays as possible, so for instance the mushrooms were in the cabbage. Chicken and pork were mixed etc. They then soaked the floors in two inches of water and started squeegeeing. They still had just sit us down not five minutes before this. If they knew they were closing they shouldn't have sit us down just to take our money. On top of that there were two kids under five, but they charge us full adult price for them. At the very least they shouldn't have charged us full price for that experience. This place needs shut down. Not an hour after eating we had stomach cramps I had to stop three times on the way home to use the restrooms. My stomach hurts today I havent been able to eat. We used to meet people here once or twice a month we all drive over an hour to meet. Now we will be going somewhere else, and advising everyone else to do the same. read more
