the food was AMAZING!!! we really like indian food from home, and this lived up to our expectations! the waiter was very nice and friendly! he recommended an appetizer and it was good. he was also very friendly! if you have a peanut or tree nut allergy, you are SAFE to eat here! as someone with those allergies, the waiter made sure i was safe and they do NOT use nuts. as for food we would recommend chicken tikka masala. we got mild and medium and they were hot, so be prepared. the flavor was amazing! it wasn't too hot , just had a kick to it if you know what i mean. we love some good garlic naan and this was amazing. i would say some of the best garlic naan i have ever had! the vegetable pakora was very tasty. we also got the cali flour appetizer called gobi manchurian. it was tasty too! overall this place was very good! the inside is a little outdated but it was nice. smells delicious in there as welll! if you like indian food and are in somerset, go here! we will definitely be going back! read more

They run a lunch buffet on weekends, which wasn't quite was I was looking for but I rolled with it. The selection wasn't bad, although it was heavy on the dairy items. Probably the best way to cater a Kentucky crowd is to emphasize the amount of butter in your cuisine, I suppose. The buffet items also didn't line up with the labels, so you had to know your Indian food to know what you were getting. What I got was a pretty good meal with chickpeas, lentils, spinach pakoras, a samosa, and a bit of paneer, plus a delicious chai on the side. It wasn't extra spicy or ultra-creative, but given how far you'd have to go to find any other food like this, I'd say it was a success. read more

Probably the only Indian restaurant in about 60 mile radius . Located in a nondescript strip mall , this place is 5-stars for food and friendly associates . I had the chicken tikka masala and garlic naan . So very tasteful and delicious . On money with the taste . The garlic naan was so amazing . The owner let me finish my food although they were closed . Highly recommended Will come back again on my next work trip near the end of June 2022. read more

Located in the Old CD Book Hut Exchange location at Trade-wind Shopping Center. The place is extremely clean and well kept. I have long looked forward to a Indian Restaurants in Somerset, however safely it does not offer on of my favorite dishes. Kadhai Paneer nor does it offer Goat Karahi or onion chutney However the newly opened Buffett does offer a selection that should appeal to most everyone, including Tikka Masala and 2 different rice options. Every one is always concerned about too spicy food when it comes to Indian Food. Sadly there is nothing offered that is super spicy nor hot, everything on the buffet is mild enough for anyone. The saving grace is that do offer a single sauce at Buffett that you may opt to add to dial the heat up a bit. All in all not a bad experience. Went and had dinner here with the family and we were very pleased. I started with the mango lassi which was excellent. Our starters were the vegetable pakoras & samosas both were Amazing! The naan was excellent. I ordered the lentil dish which was plentiful and great tasting. The rest of our party was also quite pleased with their selections of chicken tika masala, the lamb dish & chicken mahkni. We definitely went home with leftovers. When your food is ready they will call your order number. Food preparation time is quick which is a good thing if you are dining in with hungry kids. In Somerset for business and decided on door dash for dinner. After looking at options and wanting something flavorful I decided on Indian. Quick service & delivery. I ordered Lamb Karahi Gosht medium spicy, samosa and garlic naan. On first look, lamb looked a bit oily, but I was pleasantly surprised by the light taste (not oily), tender lamb and perfect seasoning-might be slightly less spicy than what I would expect from medium but I enjoyed the flavor. The garlic naan was a bit too browned/crisp on one side but still edible and part that wasn't crisp was light and fluffy. Samosa was good..but this was definitely a bit on greasy side. I for sure will order again when visit Somerset. Would give 5 stars if not for the overcooked naan and samosa on greasy side. read more

I liked the food a lot. We had chicken vindaloo and chicken tikka masala plus garlic naan, rice, samosas, pakora, and for dessert gulab jamun, a fried dough ball in honey that was delicious. The portion was good and I was able to take a small portion of leftovers home. The only complaint I have is that I ordered the vindaloo spicy and it was not spicy at all. I told them and they were very nice about it. It was still very good! So I recommend telling them "Indian spicy" if you want spicy. I would have liked to have had a paper menu to read the descriptions of food but all of that is on the wall so you can take a pic and blow it up if you have bad eyesight. The people working there and the chef were very friendly. When I'm home on vacation again, I'll be back! Give them a try! read more

I was in Somerset for one night on business. After looking over the various local restaurants, I found this place. Since it'd been awhile since I'd had Indian food, I decided to come here for dinner (take-out). When I walked in, I was greeted very warmly by the man at the counter. When I told him I wanted a to-go order, he handed me a menu. I noticed the menu wasn't as big and varied as most other Indian restaurants I've been to, which was fine with me, as it makes choosing easier. I also noticed the prices were a bit more reasonable than other Indian restaurants, which is always a good thing. I decided to go with the butter chicken, with a level 3 (out of 4) spiciness, a paneer pakora appetizer, some garlic naan, and a mango lassi to drink. The gentleman was very helpful with his recommendations. After a short wait, my order was ready, and I was on my way back to my hotel room. Right away, the first thing I have to commend this place on is not screwing up my order. Everything I ordered was there, nothing was missing, and there were no items that didn't belong there. As someone who orders a lot of takeout while on the road, it seems like there is an epidemic of carelessness when it comes to restaurants and to-go orders, so I am always happy when a place gets it right. I dug into the paneer pakora appetizer first. Honestly, I wasn't that impressed with it. The paneer seemed kind of dry and the coating rather tasteless. Fortunately, it was livened up with the tamarind dipping sauce they provided. The garlic naan was among the best I've had. It was warm and soft, with just the right amount of garlic...a perfect complement to the main course. The butter chicken was incredibly flavorful, but at first I thought I'd taken on too much spice. What happened was, the rice and the chicken/sauce were packed separately, so I started out eating them separately. I decided to put all of the rice into the empty appetizer container, and then pour the chicken and sauce on top, and voila...the rice cut down the heat of the dish considerably. But be forewarned...the sauce by itself (if you choose level 3 ) is quite hot. Eating it with a bite of the chicken helps cool it down, and the rice even more so. And speaking of the chicken, there was plenty of it, and it was cooked perfectly. As for the mango lassi, it was something I've heard about and always wanted to try. It had a great mango flavor, but it was just a bit too thick and rich for me, and probably not something I'd order again. Not the restaurant's fault, just my particular taste. As I'm finishing up this review, I'm feeling a little sad knowing that I'll probably never make it back to Somerset, so this was likely my only trip to Mirch Masala. It was a great experience, though, and I hope at least some of the Indian restaurants I visit in the future are nearly as good. Highly recommend! read more

They've only been open for three weeks but already their food is delicious no grace period needed! The layout is you walk in and place your order and then find your seats and they call out your number order. The food was delicious, they make the food according to your spice preference from mild, medium, or Indian heat level. My husband ordered the lamb tikka masala which was AMAZING and so perfectly creamy and flavorful. I ordered the lamb vindaloo and that too was so so good. There was enough food for a small portion of leftovers. We also ordered the garlic naan which was delicious too but just know it's not included in the price with the dinners. Regarding drinks, we got the Mango yogurt drink (I can't remember the full name) and it also was delicious and creamy. My only "complaint" or heads up is all their drinks are bottled or homemade juice drinks. There weren't any fountain drinks or free water cups. Also they have rice pudding which they gave us free samples of and that was a nice little treat and very good. The rice pudding was more of a liquid consistency than pudding but still highly recommend! So glad to have an authentic Indian restaurant near us and we'll definitely be back again! read more

This WAS my favorite place to order food from for the past couple of years, but the last three times I said I needed it very mild (It even says "Mild" on the top of the container) it's been waaaaay too hot. I can't eat it as I have a bladder condition that won't allow me to handle that kind of heat. We always say we need it extremely mild, no heat, or as mild as possible, but lately it hasn't been that way. It's happened a few times in the past but never time after time after time. This was my first time eating Indian food. A few of my British friends had been trying to get me to fry chicken tika masala for years and I didn't know what I was missing. My girlfriend and I went for lunch and tried the buffet. The food was hot and fresh and extremely tasty. They even came around giving out slices of lamb naan.
