Service was ok a little slow but it was a little busy. Food was awful very plain and doesn't taste anywhere near what it's supposed to.

This restaurant also serves as a mission-and I love the spirit within their mission!…read more The food is not fancy, but it is good. The salad bar is actually my favorite part, well that and the bread! I know, I know-not supposed to eat much bread, but my goodness-if you are going to enjoy some, their dinner rolls are heavenly! They have different themes for the buffet and they can make you a sandwich or grill you a steak if that's your cup of tea. Be sure to try some of the taffy, and the sorghum syrup from a neighboring farm -you'll love making cookies and other stuff with it! Most of all, just take a few minutes to come and support some wonderful people doing fantastic things in the name of the Lord!

I was born and raised nearby and hadn't been to the Bread of Life since before moving several years…read moreago. My husband isn't from the area and had never been, so we decided to give it a try. We dined on a Friday evening for the seafood buffet. The offerings were more than enough, but the food was very bland and nothing special. We are local to Florida and will stick to eating real and fresh seafood. The salad bar was just ok and the desserts were dry and flavorless. The buffet also offered a few normal items such as pork and catfish, which were good but nothing to write home about. The service is fine and we enjoyed looking in the gift shop afterwords. I would never go out of my way to dine here and likely won't be back. Save your money and time and go eat in a nearby town.

my wife and I had one of the best experiences today that we have ever had at the Danville location…read more Salad bar was great as usual. our steaks and baked potatoes were delicious. The best we have ever got there. We got to meet Donavan who cooked our steaks and he was a very nice and polite young man. Our waitress was very helpful and polite. The patio was perfect - only complaint was old eyes had a hard time seeing the menu as it got dark outside. Service was great - our waitress was attentive and got our order in perfect, plus was able to split up the checks with no issue. Complimentary rolls were served after we ordered - they are sweet rolls but nothing like Texas Roadhouse. Let's just say I was okay after one roll. I ordered the chicken pesto with baked potato and my daughter ordered the chicken wrap with fries. Everyone else at the table ordered steaks. The chicken was a little tough and overcooked, and the baked potato was very good. Tables outside were a bit wobbly so the table rocked while I cut into my chicken. My daughter liked her fries and chicken wrap. Overall it was a solid meal, but don't think we'll be back.

I'm sorry but we stopped in Cave City for the night and this BBQ joint was right across the street…read morefrom our hotel. We walked over and got seated right away. It smelled great and the food we seen delivered to other tables also looked great. We got a sample platter with ribs and brisket. The ribs were over cooked and chewy and the brisket was a lot of fat. The sides were just ok. Maybe it was just an off day for them because I see a lot of great reviews. We stopped in later in the evening so that may be the reason the meats were off. Again, not thrilled with our meal here, but may give them another chance earlier in the day.

First, I love a great BBQ joint that also offers tasty sides, which is hard to come by back home in…read moreNKy. My son and I both wanted to try the brisket so he got the platter and I chose the sandwich. I was told they make most of the sides that aren't fried options such as tater tots, which I was happy about. They had the classic barbecue sauce on the table as well as a spicy option. Both were equally delicious. My sandwich came on Texas toast, which is a fave. The portions were a great value as they do not skimp! The fried potatoes are made in house and they were delicious. Even though they don't make the onion rings in house they were also quite good. My one disappointment was, they don't make the majority of their desserts. And the menu states that their daughter-in-law Kayle makes different desserts daily and they didn't have that. They were actually out of several desserts, which was disappointing. Since the only ones they had were not ones made in house I chose to not get one. Since we live 3 1/2 hours away I guess I'll have to give it another shot for the dessert option next time around. Overall, the place was terrific and the folks were friendly. They have a salad bar in the middle of the floor, which is a nice touch. They have a very laid-back atmosphere and it is definitely family friendly. And you definitely get good size portions for the money.
