Disappointed because I asked for the white meat breaded like they used to make. I asked twice and was never told they couldn't do it. Double Dragon 200 Sycamore Street, Suite 186, Elizabethtown, KY 42701 I have ordered from this place for years and have never had a problem up until Wednesday November 13th. I ordered my normal, and it tasted fine, no complaints whatsoever, however within the next few days I began to feel really bad, I couldn't eat anything without throwing up, my insides hurt so bad that I couldn't even move without crying, I couldn't even get liquids down. I ended up in the hospital and after several tests it was found that I contracted a strain of hepatitis (before any negative comments begin, no I didn't have any form of hepatitis prior to this, I am tested for everything regularly due to having cancer) from the contaminated food from said restaurant. My liver is severely damaged by this and it is going to be a long road for my recovery. I still have not been able to eat anything but broth and popsicles and drink Powerade. I have lost 20lbs in 10 days because of this. I wanted to warn everyone about this! Please just be careful about this place. Cleanliness and hygiene is obviously not something that is of importance to them. read more

In a quest for the best hole-in-the-wall in this area friends have indicated this one in the past. For those who have followed my previous reviews know that what is noted on my reviews tend to be conservative and every attempt at fair. In hopes that reviews from another source were accurate there will be future critical consideration before taking "their" word for it. I had a craving for a good bowl of fried rice. The great disappointment is that I don't greatly care for my own homemade fried rice (and I'm Asian) but I feel confident enough to state that in a blind taste test there's a likelihood mine would be chosen over theirs. It would be nice to say, "you get what you pay for" but this experience was greatly below expectation. This place is supposedly the "best" Chinese in E-town. I decided to try this place out due to a referral from a friend. As I was eating my sweet and sour chicken I noticed a shiny piece of what looked like metal in my chicken. I pulled it out and it is a sliver of aluminum/staple in my chicken. When I called to ask for a refund they made it very difficult to acquire and were making excuses as to why they could not. Honestly, there's better Chinese else where. They are rude and don't care for their customers. They always beg for tips at the door. They charge $2 to add egg to rice! A carton of eggs is $2! Their rice is always almost full cooked. Never tastes fully done. It's hard every time. The last time I ordered from them I accidentally forgot to remove pork from my rice and I called to let them know I just wanted regular rice and I would come get it. The guy started yelling at me and telling me I'm wrong! Wrong for what? For wanting to get new rice because I don't eat pork??? He thought I was blaming him! When I just wanted to order new rice! Third time I've almost been hit by one of their drivers. They speed through the parking lot, never stop at stop signs and have no regard for pedestrians or vehicles. Does someone have to be killed for them to do something? I know they want to get the food to the customer quickly, but not at the cost of human lives or property damage. So, was just in town the other day. Arrived after a long day of driving and just wanted a trouble-free bite to eat. Ended up thinking of this place, because of delivery service. Placed order for a few entrees, a few appetizers, and a few combos, for all involved. The person taking the order demanded (seriously - it was indicated that my order would be cancelled without a charged tip) a tip to put on the credit card before delivery, she said, "because so close to closing." It was 8:30 - they're open until 11. Now, I always prefer, even if I'm charging the food, to pay the delivery tip in cash. A - it's easier on the delivery driver in terms of reporting. B - it's the only thing that allows any manner of recourse when the food winds up with leaking, tipped over containers and a paper sack full of ick. But I was so caught off guard by how pushy and abusive she was that I caved and indicated a not inappropriate tip based on a percentage of the order as I'd priced it from their online order service. When the food arrived - a full on 45 minutes later - the amount added as a tip was not what I'd indicated, but larger. The prices were not only not what I'd priced based on their recent menu, but not what is CURRENTLY POSTED ON THEIR ONLINE ORDERING SITE, a week later. Oh, *and* there's a delivery charge. Surprise!!! I get adjusting your prices since menus were last printed. Deserves a heads up, but fine. But when your prices are significantly higher than an ordering site maintained by your own restaurant - well, that reeks either of alternative pricing or fraud. I added several more dollars to the tip - primarily because it seemed clear to me that delivery-person wasn't responsible for the pushy, lying order taker. The food was the typical greasy relatively flavorless blah. Pretty much what I expected. Went with the pan fried dumplings - they weren't mushy, but they were completely hard and inedible. The crab rangoon were hard as rocks, which turned out to be for the best, because when I got one open with a steak knife, the cream cheese was spoiled. The fried wonton were literally tooth-breaking. I soaked one in my soup - after ten minutes in hot broth, I could barely chew it, it was so hard. The filling had less flavor, but was of a similar consistancy to Chef Boyardee Meatballs. Gross. We wound up ordering pizza for folks later that night. All said, I'm never ordering from this place again. I'll tolerate fair - to middling - food for delivery's sake., I won't tolerate being treated like I'm too stupid to read a menu or bill. Dear Double Dragon: Done. Loved the food first couple of times. However last time I received my food it smelled like cigarette smoke. May have been fluke but tried it again and it did not smell like smoke but food was So so! For two people to eat with entrees we spend about $30.00 dollar with tip for driver. Although this is the only Chinese place I found that delivers. I have had better Chinese but this is good. This place is so delicious!!! Tasting their dumplings brings joy in each bite, and I was shocked by the freshness of their dumplings. I rave about the quality of their dumplings, because I once tasted a homemade dumpling from my boss' mother. These dumplings are relatively close to the ones I have tasted before, which to me is a good sign. read more

I have to admit I am not Chinese food fan but this place is awesome!! It is somewhat pricey but to me is so worth it because you get enough food for the next day or two depending on how much you eat. I absolutely love the plastic take out containers! You can re use them again and again, love them!! You can take out or have it delivered. They have canned coke products,( no 2 liters) and they give you lots of sauce, napkins, forks and fortune cookies. Delivery is fast and the food is still piping hot when you get it! Love this place!! My family almost always orders from Double Dragon for any special occasion, like birthdays, Christmas Eve, etc. I love the pork with mixed vegetables. I've even gotten my 4 yr. old grandson into eating the HUGE mushrooms for the past couple of years! Picky-eater granddaughter really enjoys the chicken nuggets, and my vegetarian sister gets the vegetable fried rice! and almost everybody gets chicken and broccoli and fried rice! Each dish is usually large enough for 2 or three meals, so you get more than your money's worth!
