Exceptional! Iv been coming here for many years on visitors with family and work and I have to say they are the most consistent and thoughtful I. Preparation of take out I know . The veggies are cooked perfect, knowing it keeps cooking they cook it a tad under by the time you eat it it's perfect not over cooked shrimp. And everything with its own individual taste unlike many others. Egg roll great flavor as they cook down the cabbage a bit giving it sweeter flavor. Great work!!! The decor is very nice, and the inside of the building is super clean. The staff and the service is also great, along with the good sized selection. Unfortunately the food is extremely hit or miss. The good was very good, and the bad was VERY bad. The general tso had no flavor, the Mongolian chicken made me gag. I have always wondered why I never see Chinese people eating Chinese buffet. Here for a late 1:30 lunch, seeing mixed reviews on Yelp, I asked some guys leaving how the food was. They said it was ok. It's your usual buffet with the same dishes and with the same decor. I had a good sampling of the dishes. Gen Tso sauce was watered and the fried rice could have been much better. The chicken egg rolls were all cabbage. The other disheS I tried were hot but they all pretty much tasted the same. The hot sour soup should be called mushroom soup as that is all that was in it. My parents use to go here every Sunday brunch for decades, they always swore this was the best Asian buffet in the geographical area. Now that my Dad is no longer with us, I have taken my mom several times over the past few months. The food really isn't to my taste as I prefer authentic Chinese cuisine and this is severely westernized Asian food. The best thing I can say about the food is that there are a few dishes that are edible. My mother only eats 3 items off the actual buffet but she is a very picky eater. There are two seafood dishes that I enjoy a melange of shrimp, krab, and something I can't quite identify in a butter sauce. The other dish that I find edible is the ubiquitous dish on every local AYCE Chinese buffet in the area, which is some type of Mayo Seafood. I am not sure what it is actually called. And the third edible item for me is the red chicken thigh on a wooden stick. My mother eats the ubiquitous local version of what locally they call General Tso's Chicken and the Vegetarian Lo Mein, and the fried breaded frozen shrimp. All the staff are very friendly, attentive, and eager to assist. The ambience is the typical AYCE Americanized Chinese Buffet. There are many choices of dishes, and the price point is somewhat lower than other places in the area. But in all honesty I would only make the trip there because it is so nostalgic to my elderly mother and she wants to eat there. I traveled to see a friend in Brandenburg and we came here. It's pretty decent, esp for small town! If it were in a city I'd probably just give 3 stars, as chinese buffets aren't as good of quality food as ordering off a menu. Obviously the plus side is you get to try more different things. For a buffet I think the food was pretty good. The hot and sour soup is the only thing I got that say not that up to par. All the meat and veggie dishes that I tried, sushi, dessert, all pretty good for buffet. Probably a great asset for the small towns around. read more

I would give zero stars if possible. I went to the Buffett and made 1 plate. I ate a few bites and cut into the chicken with jalapeños and it was raw. I quietly told the waiter and he told me to tell the owner upfront. I walked up and told him and he legitimately became confrontational and told me to get out if I don't like the food and never come back. Plenty of parking. Plenty of seating to accommodate larger parties, theres a separate dining area. I've attended wedding rehearsal dinners here and a work outing. I've been eating at this Golden China Buffet for several years. I ate here at least once or twice a month while working on Fort Knox, since retiring I have been eating here about every other month, whenever I am at Fort Knox or in Radcliff for other reasons. Every buffet has some days that are better than others, but today is the first time I can say I was disappointed by the Golden China Buffet. There was still plenty of food, and most of it was probably fine, but overall it wasn't as good as it used to be. I know many businesses (especially dine-in restaurants) are struggling to recover from the pandemic and the current terrible inflation, but today's lunch buffet just was not up to past expectations and certainly did not go well with the increased price. Most of what was wrong were just small things that weren't quite up to what I was used to here. No beef with peppers and onions. Instead they had peppered pork with a few sad pieces of onion. The pork was overcooked, too tough to cut with a fork, and the pieces were too big to call bite size. The steamed wontons looked, felt, and tasted, like they had been left over for a while. The sweet & sour chicken was very good, but several other items on the buffet were barely warm instead of hot. The mustard had been watered down to the point that it was barely yellow water. I was there a little past 1PM, after the 'lunch rush' so maybe that was a factor, but I've been there in the early afternoon before and it was usually better. I'll be back at Fort Knox for a doctor's appointment next week, but I think lunch will be somewhere else next week. read more

*3.5 I would say this is one of the best american chinese buffets I've been to. I went a couple of weeks ago with my coworkers for dinner and was really surprised at all the variety. There were the regular items such as gen. tso's chicken, sweet n sour chicken, broccoli beef etc, but they also had crab legs, frogs legs, and other legs...haha just kidding. They have cocktail shrimp, salad, fruit, vegetables, everything you look for in a Chinese buffet. The only gross thing is the fried rice, it's all yellow..idk if it's cuz they add saffron or what, but I don't get it. I stopped by this restaurant in Radcliff because I was just at the Chase bank across the street, and I was famished at the time. A buffet seemed like something that would hit the spot. The owner immediately took notice of my Asian appearance and asked me whether I was Chinese. We conversed briefly in Mandarin before he gestured toward the many trays of food lying in wait. I liked this place because despite being a buffet, its food was all roughly on par with what you might normally expect at a typical Americanized Chinese restaurant. I was only able to get two plates of food before I was full, though, perhaps due to all the grease. Normally, I fill up at least three plates at buffets, but this time I didn't have room for desserts. None of it was bad, and especially considering how cheap the lunch buffet was ($6.50), it's probably worth another visit sometime. read more

Back for an after church buffet at Golden China buffet. I previously reviewed this restaurant and my opinion has not changed. It is an excellent restaurant whether you get the buffet or order from the menu. It is located about one block from US 31 on Lincoln Traill in Radcliff, KY. There is plenty of on site parking. The desserts are good and varied and ends with ice cream. Wait staff is spot on and service is great although somewhat limited in English abilities. We'll definitely be back as it is one of our favorites. Highly recommended. read more

Although I haven't been to a lot of the buffets in the area yet I would give this a 3.5 as well. The price was good. I was really hungry when I got there but either I have a small stomach or they offer too many options ;p I felt they offered a decent variety. I was surprised that I couldn't find Orange Chicken on the buffet options. They have a sit down option too but it looks like most people were there for the buffet. Their hours are good as I got there a bit late in the evening but the food didn't seem like it had been sitting out for too long. I was impressed by the fact that they didn't put out huge portions of food on the buffet so I think that helps keep their price decent and avoids wasting. I didn't get to try as much as I'd like too... I'll have to come back when I'm completely starving...LOL! Not a friendly place to visit! I've been here twice, both times on a Saturday and was charged differently both times. The takeout containers were not bulging or open. I had a reasonable amount both times. When I asked about the price difference, the arrogant Asian teen told me "It's a weeken;" however, I reminded him I paid $1 less the last time I was here on a Saturday. I have been to this location many years ago and it was fairly decent as far as chinese buffets go..but this location has really gone down in quality. The service was nice, polite, and kept the tables clean and drinks filled, but the food left a lot to be desired. There are not a lot of vegetable choices that aren't overly fried, but even what they do have isn't all that great. I have been here a handful of times the past few months and it's the same every time I visit. If you've ever been to the chinese buffet in Sheperdsville, these two locations are competing for the worst buffet in the area. It has been almost 10 years since my wife & I have eaten at an Asian buffet. After tasting the food there, I won't be venturing out to another one for probably another 10 years. As others have noted, the staff are super nice. Very polite & totally on top of their game with prompt service, plate clearing, drink refilling etc. The food is unbelievably bland & generic. I'm guessing that a lot of their food offerings are bought frozen from a third party. We ate here at dinner time & yes, they did have crab legs. Unfortunately for everyone interested in trying them, a family of dubious etiquette decided that they were going to eat their considerable body weight in said legs. The father(shirt covered in crab remains) would stand guard over the food pan & then promptly empty it onto his plate when it got refilled by the staff, even though there were other people lined up to get some themselves!! Apparently, this had been going on for three hours!!! Really? The waitresses were powerless to stop them, apparently out of politeness to a guest. The food was like extremely bad food court fare. There was just no Asian authenticity about any of it, flavor wise(am I eating beef, chicken or pork? You wouldn't know if your eyes were closed). The only redeeming dish in the entire restaurant was the apple pie(log shaped) which was fresh & not too sweet. There is really no reason to eat here at all, unless you have no idea what real Chinese food tastes like & just want to eat until you pop in an explosion of rubberized meat. FYI, there is very good Chinese food at the food court at St Matthews Mall(on the left hand side of the eating area). We were very surprised by the quality & great flavor of their selection.
