This place is one of the few that has the og roast pork fried rice! I have lived in so many states and not a lot of places do pork fried rice like this. As you see we destroyed everything so fast I barely got a shot of everything. I ordered beef and broccoli 9/10, crab rangoon 8.5/10, and the pork fried rice is 9.5/10. Today was my first time trying. The lady at the counter was very impatient and rude. When I walked in the chairs were everywhere and pulled out from the tables in the middle of the floor. Thank you I stopped in here the other day for a quick lunch while I was in Shepherdsville. This the first time I've ever had China 8 I've live by it for many years but I've never stopped in. I went in and I got their lunch portion of General Tso's chicken with rice and give you an egg roll with it but I don't really eat eggrolls so I didn't eat it I gave to my wife. I went in and ordered and I had to wait about 15 minutes just as long as Oliver had to wait for Chinese food on an In-N-Out type place like this. But it just means it was fresh cut it was super hot when I got it the chicken itself was great I would give it a 4 for the taste really good plentiful the only thing I did not like was the rice it had way too many onions for my taste is why I'm giving it an overall of a 3. Ordered over the phone and food was hot and ready when I arrived! I love that they set each to go order to the side, with dividers between each bag. Very quick and easy pickup, I added some white rice to my order upon arrival and they added it no problem. Staff was very friendly and the environment felt safe and clean. There are many easily overlooked things in life that are not to be taken for granted, one of these things is a great, dirt cheap, take out Chinese place. If you're like me, you love some great quality cheap Chinese food. In one's average medium size American city there are scores of bad take out Chinese joints and I've finally come to the conclusion that maybe one in twenty is a good place to eat. Ohhh but when one of these restaurants fires on all cylinders they're to be cherished, and regularly patronized, and CHINA 8 is one such place. My wife and I have ordered takeout from China eight three times now, and all three times has been really good experiences, the food is savory, fresh, prepared to order. The service is excellent, and quite polite. The restaurant is always immaculately clean, it's obvious that they care about cleanliness and customer satisfaction. Did I mention it's dirt cheap? So far I have had their egg rolls which are top notch, their garlic chicken which has plenty of fresh chicken, a delicious spicy and garlicky sauce, and lots of vegetables, I've had their General Tso's chicken which is also top notch, and their chicken lo mein is also really good. It's really hard to make that dish excellent, as the noodles seem to rarely have a great flavor at Chinese restaurants, but if you get chicken lo mein done correctly, it's an excellent comfort food this place does it really well. The only item on the menu that I've had that I didn't think was amazing was the hot and sour soup which was OK, but lacking in the sour department. Although my son really loves it, especially once I told him that the bamboo shoots were panda food(pandas are his favorite) and now he keeps munching it and saying, "DADDY, IT'S NANA FOO." That's my boy. Anyways, we really like this place and it's the only good Chinese restaurant between Elizabethtown and Louisville Kentucky which is quite a little drive. I highly recommend it. Enjoy! This is my favorite Asian restaurant. I have been doing business with this family owned establishment since before they owned the buffet across the street. The food is consistently great and they have the best hot and sour soup around. We try to patronize this locally owned business at least once a month and they are always busy with to go orders when I go in for pick up, so they must be doing something right. read more

This was a very pleasant surprise. We are in town for a funeral and we were looking for something to eat that wouldn't require us to head back into Louisville. China 8 had some of the best reviews in the area so we decided to give it a try. The food was excellent!!! Huge portions at a great price. We ordered the crab Rangoon and they were very tasty and I almost wonder if they were hand stuffed. I ordered the egg drop soup and it's the best fast food Chinese version I've ever had. My husband ordered the cashew chicken combo plate and I ordered the lemon chicken. Both were excellent and we had to take leftovers with us. My sister and her husband both ordered lo meins and they loved them and they looked and smelled tasty from across the table. read more

Good food, huge portions. Not much authentic Chinese food around this area, but this place makes freshly cooked basic Americanized Chinese food. I have always enjoyed China 8. Their egg rolls are the best. I haven't been there in a while because I moved about 45 minutes away. I was near there yesterday so I stopped by. I ordered hot and sour soup and egg rolls (of course) . I was disappointed in the hot and sour soup. It had carrot sticks and I am guessing bok choy sticks. I did not like the change. Take out only during Covid-19 but not much dine in space anyway. Food was quick and within the 20 minutes they stated. The hot and sour soup was tasty with lots of stuff in it. Never have been disappointed with the food or service at China 8. Over the past few years that I've eaten here I've had the opportunity to try many different things on the menu. There is no shortage of things to try! My go to dish being the general tso's chicken. The flavors from this dish are better than what you'd expect from a Chinese takeout place. Go ahead and get the combo, you'll thank yourself later. It comes with fried rice and an egg roll. The steamed dumping are no doubt the best I've ever had at any Chinese restaurant. I don't know what sauce comes with them but the dumpling flavor, pair with the sauce... you could make a meal from that! Clean restaurant. Easy to order from the giant menus they have at the desk. Service was great. Price was phenomenal for the amount of food you get. I have two complaints. The napkins are pathetically thin and I used like 10. Yeah you can call me a messy eater. Water bottle was marked up to $1.70 for Aquafina 16oz bottle. Taste of food was absolutely delish. Generals Tso chicken meal was missing broccoli but not everyone adds it... Just my preference. The fried rice with the lunch is by far the best I have had in a long time.
