I tried some new things, I got the money bag chicken pastry for appetizers and Thai salad as pineapple tangerine chicken as an entree. The money bag is different with the sweet sauce crispy outside with delicious filling. The Thai salad was decent with the crispy chicken and fresh veggies. Long live 2B Thai! It is truly comforting to know that this is here for me every time I have a Thai food craving. I'm very grateful for them given Etown's lack of diverse non-local cuisines. The food isn't half bad either! I've gotten takeout from here several times. Every noodle dish and curry that I've had here has always hit the spot. I am wanting to work my way through their whole menu. There is definitely something for everyone here. I haven't dined in yet, and I don't know why because the atmosphere seems lovely in there! Hmm. Yes, the owner is very friendly, yada, yada but the food, well isn't very good. We were so excited when it first opened some 12 years ago but disappointed with the first bite of their pad Thai, the quintessential Thai dish. We haven't been here a lot maybe 6-7 times since, and we are always left wanting. We've eaten Thai food in many different places in the US and Europe and they've all tasted very similar but not at 2B Thai. It's not about authenticity, it's about taste. The only redeeming dish is the fried rice, to be honest I've never had fried rice at any other Thai restaurant, but their rendition is good if I'd compare it to say a Chinese version. They have all manner of curries and in comparison tastes watered down and not rich and savory. I always gave them the benefit of the doubt and thought maybe I've forgotten what Thai food taste like, and maybe they do serve delicious Thai food. By happenstance I've met some clients of Thai descent and inquired as to their opinion of 2B Thai and all of them responded negatively with comments of how terrible the food tasted. It's been 12 years since my first bite of their pad Thai and well I wasn't going to bother giving it a review but the other day my wife picked up some noodles dishes from here and they were beyond terrible. We got the pad see yew and pad kee mao (drunken noodles) and it's like the cook doesn't even know what he's doing. They both tasted the same each with a similar soy based sauce with Al dente noodles. Not very good Thai food. The dishes look delicious but taste terrible. I guess you could just get the fried rice and some deep fried appetizers (can't mess that up). read more

The Asian man who took our order said that "hot"' was not really hot. Based on his opinion, we ordered both our dishes hot which ended up being much spicier than we anticipated. Most of the chicken was rubbery than tender. The flavors of both dishes were diluted from what we are used to. The red curry sauce was too watery.
