    Tom Kha with chicken

Loved it! Peanut satay was great. Loves the Tom Kha, was enough to split with my husband. We also split the chicken pineapple curry. Great portion, super tasty. I should have gotten veggie over chicken but it was really good. Highlight was my drink Violent Storm. It was like pina colada with blueberry syrup. One of my all time favorites. Price was great and service was excellent. Very relaxing atmosphere.

Simply Thai is incredible! The vibe is very casual. Chill lo-fi beats in the bar area where we waited for takeout. The guy running the register was super helpful! He knew the ingredients of every dish and was able to help us meet our dietary needs. Highly recommended for gluten free, df, egg free, vegan! They can make everything on the menu (except for things that are fried and the yellow curry) gluten free!! As far as vegan, they will sub out proteins and use coconut milk to make any dish vegetarian or vegan!

Basil Entree - this is not Thai! No Birds Eye chilis no fresh basil, hardly edible. Should call themself "Simply American-Asian Fusion"

Invited by a local that highly recommended. Place seems a little run down. Service & food was great though! I tried three appetizers (2 were mine, 1 was my host) & my host ordered the pineapple curry...I tasted, it was delicious. Shrimp packages with cucumber sauce was delicious! Matter of fact, every sauce was! Loved variety provided with appetizers. Wish they would put more attention to restaurant overall. Toilet wouldn't flush & those things matter to me. I would eat here again if in the area, but would highly recommend carryout.

Thai food is not my favorite however simply Thai might actually be a new favorite spot! They have something for everyone. I came with my vegan friend and we had no problem splitting an app and him getting a dish that was vegan. The food is good and the service is kind and quick. We left absolutely stuffed and our wallets weren't too bad either! We came on a weekday in summer and it was relatively calm, no wait.

The pineapple curry is to die for!!!!! I could eat it every single day!!! It's easy to make it vegan too! I get it with vegetables and spice level 3. One thing I will say is if you're ordering takeout on a Saturday night it will take all of 40 minutes for pickup.

I dined at Simply Thai on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at 6 pm. I'm a lover of Thai food and have eaten at and reviewed many Thai restaurants on Yelp. I checked the reviews and menu online and thought this place looked promising. Unfortunately, I was sorely mistaken because this was one of the worst Thai restaurants I have ever been to due to its lack of authenticity and quality. First of all, how can an authentic Thai restaurant not have a spice tray with basic chili peppers and spices. I asked the server and he gave me a confusing look because they didn't have one. Secondly, the restaurant failed in executing one of the most traditional Thai dishes that any good Thai restaurant can serve. If you want to judge the authenticity of a Thai restaurant, order one of the Thai staple stir fry noodles like pad Thai or drunken noodle or pad se ew. I ordered the pad se ew with beef and it was very saucy and wet. The beef was bland and tasted like it was boiled or steamed instead of charred on a hot wok. Not only was I able to discern that the dish was not cooked long or hot enough based on the beef and noodles, I also tasted raw garlic throughout the dish. The shrimp spring roll appetizer was fresh. The size of the roll is larger than average because the veggie to shrimp ratio was rather large in my opinion, so I thought it could be rolled a little bit smaller. Service was average. My server was nice and attentive. He gave me a to-go box without me asking. But I had zero intentions of bringing it out of the restaurant. The food came out in reasonable time given how busy they were. Overall, I'm sure there are better options for Thai food than Simply Thai. But if this is one of the best Louisville has to offer for Thai food, folks should consider traveling out of state to reevaluate their standards. I definitely won't be returning. Simply Thai was more like simply not it.

I've been going to Samurai for date nights and friend dinners for years and every roll is huge and fresh, and I always have great service. Good sushi is hard to find in land locked Kentucky! Samurai must have great sources for their fish because the freshness is very apparent, every time I go. Favorite rolls: Mark's Roll, Happy Sunday, Texas Roll, Barbie's Favorite, Sakura Roll, and Midnight Roll but truthfully, you cannot go wrong. We heard the story of our favorite roll! The Mark's roll was named after a very kind soul that was a friend of the restaurant that sadly passed away. He loved spicy food and was the light of the room, so the fried jalalpeno and flaming plate make the perfect homage to him. The love and care Samurai has for their customers and the community is unmatched! Come cute with 15 people, or in your pajamas with your bestie. The atmosphere is very welcoming; casual but romantic still. Either way come ready to EAT!

The second was completely off--overripe, heavy blackberry notes, clearly oxidized and not the same quality wine. This is what happens when a bottle has been open too long. When I pointed it out, instead of addressing it professionally, the server repeatedly insisted it was from the same bottle and argued with me. That's not just poor service--that's dismissive and borderline insulting. I wasn't trying to get out of paying. I explicitly said I would pay for the glass and not drink it--which I did. I left the full glass on the table. At that point, the appropriate response would have been to move on. Instead, the argument continued. For context, I spent 22 years in the wine and spirits industry. I know the difference--but frankly, anyone could have smelled and tasted how off that wine was. I still paid and tipped 20%, but the issue isn't the charge--it's the way this was handled. Arguing with a customer instead of listening is unacceptable. Do better.

I went with my partner and ordered the Miso Soup, Rainbow Roll (replaced shrimp with yellow tail) and a Vegetable Fried Rice. Listen. The fried rice is absolutely where it's at. You wanna talk savory? This is it. Flavor? Yes, it's all here. Quantity? Surely something that tastes so comforting and warm would be scarce. NOPE! They LOAD your plate with fried rice, it's like a compact mountain of deliciousness whose savory goodness pairs extremely well with the mellow, soothing flavor of their Miso Soup. Their Rainbow Roll was also very good, especially with the portion size. It has a fresh taste where it lets you know it was made the moment before it got to your table. I replaced the shrimp only because my partner is allergic to crawfish and I wanted her to try some, but I've had it with shrimp before and recommend you have it with it. I focused a lot on the comfortable vibes here because I think that's what Osaka excels at. Eating here is like going to visit your mom after a while and she makes you your favorite dish just how you remember it. Maybe you've had a better tasting version of it somewhere else, but this is MOM's cooking. Its flavors are great, the portion size is great, and it's made with love and care; with you in mind. My sushi was fresh, my teriyaki was flavorful and most importantly the tofu was battered and deep fried perfectly! A close second to Heart & Soy and trust me as a vegetarian for 5 years, pescatarian for 3, that is GOOD COMPANY to be in when it comes to the best tofu! The portion was huge for $16.99! I feel like it came out pretty quick and I wasn't a fan of the yum yum sauce..it was a bit sweet and didn't taste like the normal sauce I am use to back home. The space was overall nice and it seems as though it could get pretty loud when you're already a large group sitting with a large group of people. I also noticed a lot of gnats flying, this is something that is common at restaurants obviously. But it became a bit annoying when one landed on my lip as I was talking and started flying over my food. I lost my appetite after that and decided to box my food up.
