I made a reservation for 5p Sunday for a group dinner and when I arrived early there was no one at the hostesses station but there were people sitting there waiting in a table when the restaurant didn't look that busy to me. I waited for about 6 minutes before the hostess showed up and I was seated. They were very accommodating about my party size changing last minute and seating me in a more comfortable spot until my party arrived. The food was amazing though. I had the red curry with chicken and rice and my friends ordered wontons and lettuce wraps. Everyone loved their food.

Mama T's Spicy Chorizo, Bacon, Egg & Cheese Fried Rice

This is one of the more unique fried rice dishes I've had. It tastes wonderful, the savoriness and umami flavor comes as you'd expect for fried rice but the cheese, chorizo, bacon, and fried egg add a nice spin on it. It's like an American breakfast had a baby with latin and eastern cuisine. The crunch from the bacon is heavenly and the cheese, melted from being underneath the hot fried egg adds another layer of savoriness that some might find overpowering, make this feel like a cheat meal that gives great hugs. District 6 is one of my favorite places to visit in town. It's a bit small and seating can be a little cramped sometimes, but the food, service, and small neighborhood restaurant vibes are on point. All that for a decent price; If you're in the area, check em out!

As far as short rib pho goes , District 6 has perfected it. The meat fell right off the bone and the pho was well seasoned. The restaurant was fairly quiet considering how much foot traffic it had. I also tried the wontons which were also very delicious ( not pictured).

District 6 is a Vietnamese restaurant with a vast menu serving up solid classic dishes and fusion twists. The salmon bao was the best dish with a spicy mayo type sauce. The veggie pho was pretty good with good textures and a satisfying broth. The papaya salad with shrimp was refreshing and the stir fried noodles were very flavorful. Overall, we are excited to come back and try the rest of the menu, although the prices are a bit high. The service was prompt and the outdoor seating is pleasant in good weather.

Special of the month: banh canh w chewy, thick noodles, meatballs, pork hock and a soft shell crab!

We have lots of Vietnamese restaurants in Louisville. They range from the very authentic to the very watered down. Then there is District 6: a bright spot in the crowd. D6 has authentic items not available at other places: Thit Kho - pork belly and eggs stewed in caramel and fish sauce. Whole fish fried or steamed Awesome specials such as soft shell crab banh canh, lobster noodles...etc. These are all so delicious and always a wonderful surprise. But D6 also has the more trendy apps such as fried cauliflower and kale salad that can satisfy the other palates. And did I mention their prices are also very reasonable for this busy section of St. Matthews?? They even have lunch specials and Happy Hour. Oh, their drinks are very imaginative and festive, too. Give them a try if you have not. It's definitely on my list of regulars.

Lunch Combo with gluten-free Pho Ga and gluten-free Traditional Summer Roll.

I ordered delivery from a third-party vendor, therefore, I am unable to comment on this restaurant's atmosphere or service. I ordered the Lunch Combination with gluten-free Chicken Pho (Pho Ga), with a gluten-free Traditional Summer Roll, and a Coke. For the Pho I requested no onion, no bean sprouts, no jalapeño, and extra Thai Basil and those instructions were followed to the T. For the gluten-free Traditional Summer Roll I requested no peanut sauce, and add Sweet Chili Sauce for dipping and those instructions were not followed. I was really looking forward to having the Sweet Chili Sauce for my summer roll. I know the restaurant received all my instructions because they were included on my receipt. The Pho Ga was disappointing, it lacked flavor. It honestly tasted like chicken broth from a grocery store carton. The chicken was tender which was refreshing, especially since I was disappointed about the broth. Pho is ALL ABOUT THE BROTH. I am an avid Pho lover, even make my own at home frequently, and this broth just didn't cut it for me. The gluten-free Traditional Summer Roll was tasty, with pork and shrimp. I would have enjoyed it more if I had received the requested Sweet Chili Sauce. The coke was delivered in a 16 ounce cup with lid, with more ice than coke and it was watered down. Definitely would not recommend a soda if you are ordering via delivery. Overall. I will not order again from this establishment.

The service is quick, and efficient. The ambiance is very laid-back. They have excellent hours and a robust Vietnamese menu. I was impressed to see vegetarian options on the menu. I absolutely loved the Vermicelli Noodle Salad with tofu it was delightful! I recommend trying this gem. You will not be disappointed. Parking for this venue is extremely difficult;however, street parking is accessible.

Honestly some of the best pho I've had. The service was incredible. A warm and welcoming staff that made it even more enjoyable. The lunch special might be the best deal in town.

Food and Pho were AMAZING First time trying 11/23/2025, drove to Louisville from Lexington for really good Pho Ordered the spicy fried cauliflower, wontons, chicken wings, fried chicken baos, bacon crunch wieners, and the short rib pho 10/10

My wife and I stopped in for a late lunch/early dinner. Based on all the glowing reviews we had high hopes. We started with a "shareable"- lettuce wraps with beef. Absolutely outstanding. Great flavor, tender beef. And a generous serving. From there, things started to slide. My wife ordered chicken pho. I went with Pagoda noodles with shrimp. My wife's pho was a generous serving, served nice and hot. The chicken was sliced thin, very tender. But the broth was exceptionally weak. Very little flavor, less aroma. My pagoda noodles was also a letdown. I asked for the dish to be made spicy. It was served mild. I ended up using my wife's sriracha sauce to "liven" the dish. In fairness, the shrimp & noodles were perfect, just lacking full flavor. From my perspective, District 6 plays it a little too safe in the flavor department. A heavier hand with seasoning would really elevate the experience.

Always delicious - must have the Short Rib Pho! Great atmosphere and kind service. I like to meet for one on one conversations here, it's not too loud.

Moma mini spring rolls (2) Lunch Combination
    Antoinette H.

I got the Lunch Special: Moma Mini Spring Rolls, Beef and Meatball Pho, with a coke and and order of Chicken wings. Food was delicious! The service was decent. The bar tender was also the waiter for the floor. This caused delays in food and drink deliveries to both bar and the floor. There was enough staff for this not to happen. I would go again for the food and to see if it was just a bad day.

We had the fried tofu appetizer. The fried tofu came with a sweet chili sauce and was so good. When you bite into it there's a nice little crunch which is immediately met by the creamy interior (be careful it's hot!) and the flavor is amazing. The pho...oh my, the pho! The broth was full of flavor. The short ribs were tender. It was amazing! So...what's with the one star? I debated with myself on this but I had to give one star for the service. It was horrendous. We walked in and stood by the entrance for a good 10 minutes before anyone who worked there acknowledged us. We were finally seated, and, no lie, it took another 35 minutes before we got water (more on that in a minute). After we were seated, we knew exactly what we wanted so we closed our menus and waited...and waited...and waited...and waited. Thirty minutes after we sat down he finally took our order along with two other tables of two, who were seated well after we were (make it make sense). The two tables who came after us but ordered at the same time as us received their food a good 10 minutes before we did. I was beginning to think he didn't like us for some reason. I had no interaction with him. Didn't know him. So I don't know why he wouldn't like us. There was another couple who he seemed to know. He sat them quickly, took their order, and gave them their food--all in the span of about 20 minutes. Why was our service so bad? Needless to say--one star. If you don't mind horrible service...oh yeah, about that water. My water glass had something stuck to it. It was nasty! Should never have been given to a customer. Since we were, for the most part, being ignored, I had to walk over to him and ask if I could have a new glass. He mumbled "oh yea" and brought me a new one with a "sorry bout that" while he was walking away. Horrible service. If you don't mind horrible service, the food is great. I won't be going back.

First impressions: very clean facility, very warm and welcoming owner (Trieck was his name) and his adorable daughter doing homework by the cash register. He very kindly explained how he understands that vegetarian pho does not have meat And that he has the Buddhist version of the pho that his mom eats. I ordered to go because I wanted to run next door to their grocery section. I love me a good Vietnamese grocery store and products from all over the world. Pho is typically eaten at the establishment to make sure that the fix-ins and the method of consumption is 10 on 10 aka it does not hold very well when transported. I was happy to find that they had done such a great job packaging all the fixings and the soup. Very generous portions. I proceeded with the taste test. I have learned from my Vietnamese friends that you never add condiments to your soup right off the bat. You must savor the soup the way it is the first couple times to truly get all the flavors in before you start adding stuff . This was excellently seasoned broth base. The base was just perfect to me. After creating the whole experience at home, I can say I truly did enjoy eating pho from here. Good vegetarian phos are hard to come by and I will definitely return to try their other delicacies. If I had a couple words of wisdom, I think the soup could use a few more pieces of vegetables and tofu. But overall, I throughly enjoyed my meal and will return.
