I loved my first time at this salon. They treated me well and the service was amazing! I got exactly what I wanted and left feeling great.

I got a gel manicure done last week and by Friday my nails were already chipping. As much as you pay for the gel manicure you would hope it would last roughly two weeks. Other than that the service was good and it was a quick service. Just wished they prepped my nails better for the gel to last longer.

I may or may not have been pressured into writing this review however, everything I say here is true lol I have been coming to Helen to get my eyebrows waxed for years. She charges $10 and I usually tip her $5. The work that she does is really good and I have tried other places but I always come back to her. She's fast and consistent in her work. I have never had a bad experience and I know if I come here I am guaranteed to leave satisfied. She's also really fast, I've never had to wait longer than 5 minutes to be seen but that's just because she really is experienced in what she does. Ask for Helen to wax your eyebrows, you won't regret it!

I've been a faithful customer of this nail shop for over 13 years and bring my family members here when they come from out of town and we're never disappointed! Tammy is my chosen nail technician knows exactly what I want and does an excellent job every time! Helen does great eyebrows is very sweet and sometimes sings melodies in her native language is so comforting to hear. All the technicians are nice and pleasant while providing their services. The location is always clean and has a relaxing vibe. Highly recommended!!!! read more

I stopped in for an emergency pedicure after my gel polish chipped, but the experience was disappointing from the start. Once seated, I noticed the salon wasn't very clean. The technician pulled instruments from an open plastic cart, none were in the sealed, sterilized pouches you'd expect. After using them, he simply rinsed the tools in my footbath and returned them to the cart. Concerned about hygiene, I asked him to pour rubbing alcohol to my toes to reduce infection risk... I paid for the most expensive pedicure because it promised an extended massage, yet the massage lasted barely a minute per foot (I timed it). Meanwhile, the woman next to me chose an express service and received a noticeably longer massage. The polish application itself was acceptable, but the lack of sanitation and the abbreviated massage made the visit feel rushed and unhygienic overall. read more

No one knows what matte vs pearl is in a nail salon. How is that possible? There choices of polish was 2 sheets and a 6 pad of 10 colors. The manager/owner came over told me u pick color number so rudely my mouth dropped. My feet were already in the warm water. So I said no gel and no color. Just clear. I'll go home and paint my own nails. read more

This review is strictly for the eyebrow technician--not the nail services. I've been coming to this salon for about 2.5 years now, mainly because the person I used to see at a different salon stopped working there, and this location is closer to home. While I've only gotten my eyebrows done here twice, I'll admit the technician does an amazing job. It's very hard, at least for me, to find someone who can shape my eyebrows the right way. I have stubborn brows, and she actually knows how to handle them. She really does great work, which is why it's even more frustrating that she's never there when I come in. I've shown up around 10:00 a.m., sometimes earlier, and each time I'm told, "She's coming in at 11" or "She'll be here at 11:30." Today, I walked in at 11:35 a.m. thinking I had timed it right, only to be told she won't be in until noon. Honestly, what kind of eyebrow tech shows up to work that closer to the afternoon? I don't know if she's the owner, and frankly, I don't care. What I do care about is being able to come in at a reasonable hour, like 9:30 or 10 a.m., and actually get my eyebrows done. And why is she the only person who does brows here? It doesn't make sense for a salon to rely on just one technician who isn't even available until almost noon. I just wish she were more available, because the quality of her work really is hard to find. Great results or not, the lack of availability is a major issue. I'm sure I'm not the only customer who's experienced this frustration. read more

Nathaniel did my full set nails and I was happy with them. I usually don't like men doing my nails but he was cool . The vibe of this shop is very relaxing. And sometimes the lady in the front sings while she's doing eyebrows. Not a loud sing but more of a soft flowing tone. I don't really know how to describe it but it's nice and pleasant. I'll definitely come back. read more

Quality and service. Employees use nail filers used by other employees. No segregation of items and my services are rushed. They handle money while providing service with is very unsanitary and most of them do not use gloves during the service. Not once did alany of the employees wipe the work stations before or after each service. I saw a few techs use other nail files from other techs and return them after each use. High risk of contracting infections. Avoid this nail salon. read more

I've been coming to this nail salon to get my eyebrows done for over 15 years, pretty much since it opened. Helen is the only person I trust with my eyebrows, she always does an excellent job shaping them and most importantly she does not over pluck/wax (I have thick brows and I like keeping them full). I've tried to do the fancy eyebrow places but honestly Helen does a way better job and for half the price. I stopped getting my nails done years ago because I just can't afford the maintenance, so I can't comment on the nail side of it. The location is big and the vibes are chill. read more

I waited for one of the staff to finish eat her apple and didn't wash her hand after when she waxed my eyebrows. Eyebrows wax are usually $10. I asked beforehand she said it was $12. I asked for her to trim it a little bit more and then she proceeded to charge me $14 and still have the audacity to ask for a tip. It is literally just wax not threading. They over charge with everything even when it comes to nails and they don't do so great. If I could give a zero star, I would. read more

They thinned out cause I begged my mom to start getting them done but didnt really know what inwas asking for - fast forward theyre thinning in high school and she wpuld never take off more than she had to and actually helped them stay as full as possible. Aways a pleasure to come, she remembers me and my sister even though we dont come as often as we moved a lot further away. You wont regret it! I got black builder gel nails. Black is about as straightforward as it gets, yet somehow my nails were left crooked, slanted, uneven, poorly filled, and incompletely polished. Some nails looked like they were missing product toward the base, and the shaping was so inconsistent that my hands looked like they belonged to two different people. And before anyone says, "Why didn't you say something?" -- I DID. Multiple times. I repeatedly asked for the obvious issues to be fixed, and I could clearly tell they were becoming irritated with me for asking. I'm sorry, but if I'm paying $110, I'm going to expect $110 worth of work. Asking for my nails to actually be straight, filled properly, and fully polished is not being difficult. That is literally the service I paid for. The gentleman doing my nails was polite, and I'll give him credit for that. Unfortunately, being nice doesn't compensate for extremely poor workmanship. What bothers me most is that this wasn't some tiny imperfection that I was nitpicking. These were visibly crooked nails that were unfinished. I shouldn't have to explain to a professional that every nail needs to be properly shaped and completely covered in polish. Honestly, they should be embarrassed to charge $110 for this quality of work. They're lucky I paid, because after seeing the final result, I absolutely would have understood anyone refusing to pay for this. Needless to say, I will never spend another dollar here. There are far too many nail salons that actually care about the quality of their work to settle for this

If I could give this place LESS than a star I would. I went in for a full set last week and today 3 of my nails popped off. No, they didn't break, I didn't have half a nail left ... at random times (in the shower, on my computer, washing dishes), one by one today they popped off and I had to super glue them back on. I've been going there for less than a year and while they're not the worst; they're certainly not the best. I drove down there and walked in.... saw and talked to the owner and told her that I didn't feel that after only 1 week, my nails should be popping off. She clearly knows who I am (or at least remembers my $$$$), then proceeds to tell me that I can have them fixed for $7 dollars. I then, replied saying.... "NO, I'm a regular customer and tip very well. I am not gonna pay and shouldn't have to pay for 3 of my nails coming off. Not breaking, but coming right off.". She tried to bring her mumbo jumbo bullshit and I said "Look Helen, you're either gonna fix my 3 nails for free or you lose a customer forever." This bitch says "I lose customer". I walked out with my middle finger (with no nail) up! Horrible Horrible Horrible service. I can't believe she would let me walk out over $7 dollars. Anyone who's reading this, please don't go there. They don't deserve your money or your respect. EFF THEM! read more

I had an amazing experience at King and Queen Nails! I got Gel-X nails with a French tip by Nathan, and they turned out absolutely beautiful. The shape was perfect, the white tips were super clean, and the finish looked so natural and classy. The staff was really friendly and made sure I was comfortable the whole time. The salon itself was also very clean and had a relaxing vibe. I'll definitely be coming back for my next set -- highly recommend if you're looking for gorgeous nails and great service! read more

I will never step in this dirty shop again. I went when they first open a couple years ago. Owner the husband is soooooo Rude & very pushy. Poor service..... I can walk to this shop from my house but it's not worth it. I go to Jolie Nail Spa 2150 Pacific Coast Hwy. Lomita ca 310-517-9132 (formerly Wendy Nails) New Owner Lynn. Customer service is poor. The staff is very rude and abrupt when speaking to customers as if they are doing you a favor for coming in. There are a thousand nail shops in LA I will gladly take my money elsewhere and be treated with respect. It's a no for me. read more

The only minor critique I would have is based mainly on their inconsistent hours, if you plan on coming early in morning I would suggest calling the day before to ask what time they'll be opening the following day. I do always see them switching and cleaning tools which is very important. Billy answered the phone and although I requested him, it was same day so he was busy. That's understandable and he suggested Kevin. I specifically asked if Kevin is good w/ Gel-X and he replied "Yes." I was about 8 mins late for my 4:30 appt, so I couldn't exactly be upset that Kevin wasn't ready for me. He finally got to me around 4:50pm. Billy placed the Gel-X supplies on an empty station, and that's when I suddenly became apprehensive. I've been getting my nails done for YEARS, so that was the first red flag for me. Why doesn't Kevin already have his own supplies at a permanent station? Subsequently, I abruptly changed my service to a gel manicure, because that's a basic level service and I was hopeful that it would work out. I was wrong. The polishing was bad. He was hurting my cuticles by being too aggressive and trying to cut off too much cuticles. A few times I said "ouch" and moved my hand. The shaping was bad, and my nice ssa still tipped him. SMH. Why? Because he still did a service, even if it was below my standards, I am just used to it. AND the three staff were so nice and accommodating. But, nice isn't enough. It hasn't even been 24 hours and the polish has started peeling on two nails. This is my second time at this place. The first visit for a pedicure wasn't the best as far as my experience during the service (the guy was rough and pushy), but ultimately my toes looked good, so I wanted to give them another try. Plus, they're so close to me home, but it didn't work out for me. Hopefully others will have a better experience.
