BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!! My husband and I brought our truck here and they had it for 3 weeks and could "not find "the issue. They charge us $2500 to do what exactly? Clean the fuel exchange .. ? 2 weeks later it's making a noise AND I noticed they left one of their rags under the car. I take it in and they have it for another 2 weeks. Charges us $500 to take the cover off of the "motor " to see IF that is the issue. Gave us an estimate of 5500 to fix and then says we can do 3300 cause "technically the other part doesn't need fixing , but since we're in there "! WHAT THE ACTUAL HELL!!!!!? NO NO NO ! Give me my damn car back ! Charged 600 and Nothing but the diagnostic was done ! WE WILL NEVER GO HERE AGAIN ! Yes they somewhat communicated but this was ALL WRONG ! read more

I recently moved to Charlotte and moved away from all of my trusted MINI mechanics. I had done a bunch of work on my MINI myself and needed a trained eye to make sure that I hadn't done something stupid. Sal took his time, put the car on the lift and did a very thorough job on the survey. He found a few items that I need to keep an eye on and took me out in the shop to show me what was going on. I've got a clutch job that I know is coming in the next year and I'll be going back to Kinetech. Sal knows his stuff. He also charged much less for the survey than I had expected. Its been awhile because I wanted to gather some information have my post reviewed before I posted and I actually wanted to think about if I wanted to share this or not because it may be a one time incident with me. I took my s550 here and got a quote for 1300.00 and was told the repairs would fix the issue and Id have my car back in two weeks. After two weeks no car so I called and was told that they had to send my car to the Mercedes dealership for the repairs they quoted. My cost went from the $1300.00 quote to $2700.00 which I paid but it still didnt fix the problem. So I was pissed and called and told them the problem still exsits and had my car towed back to them and said I just paid you $2700.00 which is 101% over your quote I need my car fixed so they gave me another quote for more repairs and said 'Oh we found the issue". So at this point I said to myself " Nope I will take their quote and take it to the dealer myself for repairs which I did..big mistake on my part. The dealer made the additional repairs that Kinetech said I needed and it still didnt fix the issue. So sway bars, L and R control arms and $3450.00 dollars later the problem is still there...squeaking, rough ride.. So my neighbor ( who is a licensed dealer mechanic) noticed the multiple tows ( 3 in all) and asked me what the problem was ..I told him the story and he asked if he could take a look. He came back and said all you ever needed were ball joints IDK how a licensed professional would miss diagnose this because its pretty simple so he made the repairs and BOOM issues resolved. He charged me $750.00. So to me I paid nearly 4k for repairs I didnt need and additional towing and uber cost..nearly 5k. So after the final repairs were made I get a text from Kinetech asking " How is the car and social engineering I said " Still not fixed" and he said " Sorry to hear that, have you had the suspension work repaired? we quoted it on your last visit?" So I told him yes but I took it to the dealership for those repairs because according to you thats what you guys did. So now he is in my opinion baiting me to come back to get repairs he knows I dont need. So I then tell him what my neighbor, a licensed dealer mechanic said and did to fix the issue and immediately all text stopped. So I spent nearly 5k (repairs and 3 tows) when all I shouldve spent was $750.00. So Im going to reserve my personal opinion you make your own but this is my story. I have all the emails, texts, screenshots and written quotes to support everything said here. I was told to send this to Channel 9, Jason Stoogenke but no I wont do that. So the last issue which I cant explain, all of my tire sensors were working just fine but all of a sudden I got an ABS message. I had the Mercedes dealership investigate and they said my tire sensor wasnt broken its missing and thats why the ABS issue is showing. So another $315.11. So my tire sensor was taken off I asked ! he said yes it was taken off. Again Im reserving my opinion maybe this was an isolated incident with me but it was a costly lesson and may be I have fault in this too but I just dont see it that way. read more
