This restaurant is unreal ! From the architecture, ambiance & customer service. Only reason I took away one star because it can be deceiving from what you see online . The famous bird nest area everyone wants to sit in at this restaurant you have to pay and extra $700 on top of you bill to sit in the birdsnest but if you come early enough they are nice enough to let you take pics and view the area so we arrived right around the time they opened . With that being said it's a ton of nice areas to sit in inside and out the birdsnest is just icing on the cake if you ask me . It's separated from by international , Asian , & Italian and each sides of the restaurants has different themes which was pretty cool . Now on to the food ! I been seeing a lot of people complain about the price of the food but I don't think their food is priced bad here at all it's the basic price point you would pay if you go to any other upscale restaurant . I had a pasta with salmon & caviar it was delicious & my friend enjoyed her truffle lobster dish as well & for appetizer we shared a tuna tartare dish . Now I'm not even a grey goose girly but they had this drink that was grey goose mixed with a natural passion fruit juice and oh my gosh we're still boasting about that drink ! If you're in Tulum I'd say this restaurant is pretty high up on my list to visit every time
First, let me say that the restaurant is beautiful and we loved the views. We wanted to sit in "the nest" but was told it would be an additional $1,000. We declined and sat inside and we still had a great view. Our drinks looked great, but were missing the alcohol. However, at the end they did not charge us for the drinks. The food as I mentioned before is very pricy and was worried about the quality of the food, however, most of our meals were pretty tasty. The part we enjoyed the most was the Shaman who came by our table and blessed us. We enjoyed his company and his prayers.
Restaurants were created for a better culinary experience than what you can have at home. Professional chefs with a staff of cooks to create something delicious. Then at some point other restaurants were created with a different goal like a fast meal or fast food on the go and then restaurants for an experience or some sort. Top of the Eiffel Tower or in front of the Pyramids. Kin Toh is that type. You are there for the experience because the food is not the main purpose. It may look nice but the taste is average. If you are not sitting in one of those nests then I suggest you go eat somewhere else outside of the Asvlik.
We went to this place for a birthday dinner one night in Tulum. What stuck out was the birds nest vibes with actually bird nest tables which looked beautiful to sit in when the sunsets. However, we got there after dark. We wanted to, at least take, pictures up there but they wanted to charge 80 dollars for each person, which was insane because eventually they let some people from our party to do so at the end of the dinner. We just sat at a table inside. The menu is ABSTRACT. If you have food restrictions or you're not an adventurous eater, I don't know if I would recommend. I personally didn't eat for this reason. My party order two tasting menus for 11 people based on the waiters recommendation. Each tasting menu was for 2 people, max. I don't know why the waiter would recommend this for such a large party. As guessed, people got a little TASTE. Like a forkful of something. It was not filling because people went home and ordered pizza afterwards but they did say dishes were good. The drinks, which I did have, were basic. Nothing to write home about. Please make sure you check the prices before booking. Some people were shocked when we sat down at the table. The appetizers started at like 40 bucks and the entrees started at like 70 bucks. Overall, do your research before coming here to make a sound decision so you're not walking in uninformed.
We stopped by for lunch on a Sunday before Thanksgiving during our last day in Tulum. The ambiance is outdoorsy and relaxing and upscale. The service was as expected for Tulum. We ordered the ribeye taco, guacamole, the kin toh cocktail (mezcal based), and the chocolate dessert. Overall everything was so delicious. I would totally recommend to others and come back here myself.
I'm sorry to say that the views are hyped and so is the "ambiance". Sure it's kinda cool but it's not worth the trip or the money. Food was lackluster and extremely expensive. Apparently Tulum is in the market of taking advantage of tourists. A main lobster was $200 USD. A tomahawk steak was $175. We were charged for water, not sparking, just regular water. The food wasn't great. I mean you can tell the chef thinks he is creative but the food has no flavor and the portions are small. I'm not a cheap skate and I enjoy splurging especially since it was my birthday, but this was ridiculous. It was so bad we immediately went to a taco shop down the street to fill up. Also the camarerro pulled a fast one with the "special drink not on the menu" which was ok but was 500 pesos. We made a reservation for the tree top experience with our meal but they informed us when we got there that it was an additional 1000 pesos per person. I was afraid to use the restroom as I might get charged for wiping. Taxi's are a scam as well. They charge you more for leaving the restaurant than getting there. Overall experience was lame. If you and instagram "celeb" then sure, it's a good place to take some photos, but anything else you should just skip it.
This place was honestly such a scam. It's overpriced and overhyped. Go for the Instagram photos if you're into that, but leave immediately after and eat anywhere else. I was here with a group of 11 for a friend's birthday. The birthday girl wanted to take pictures in the birds nest (not even dine there. Just take pictures). We were told it would cost us $80/pp just to go up there. Upon looking at the menu, it became apparent to some that everything was super expensive. We were deciding if we should leave when the waiter convinced us to do the tasting menu. The tasting menu clearly stated that it was for two people. The waiter insisted that it would be a lot of food and if we ordered two of them, it would be enough for our large party. When the food came out, it's was very obviously not enough. Some of the dishes were good, but not all, and definitely not worth the price. My margarita being bad was a foreshadowing of how the night was going to go.
Came here multiple times for hangout and chill. The ambiance and internal decor were amazing and it could blow your mind away. It is decorated with wood and you could go into a section made out of bridge that connect multiple facilities/restaurants with different themes. We took the bridge and it was a bit shaky that could be scary at times but definitely fun and great to experience. The bridges were safe and structurally in great shape. The service was alright and there were times that the waitress/waiter would give some shit face to you, perhaps it needs training and improvement... The first time we came here was for drinks post 8pm (free entrance) and it was a bit cold and empty. It seems the place doesnt seem popular for local people but more for tourist. The second time we came was for the rooftop experience from 5pm to 8pm that we had to pay around ~$900 mexican pesos/person for the experience that included one drink and appetizers. The drinks and appetizers were alright. Nothing particular. The view was good but dont think it was worth it. The ambiance was great, but not worth it for just the ambiance as only selling point. It seemed more for influencers and people who want to have picture perfect in their social media. I believe this place is more of a high end tourist trap than a place that would stand out on its own. It markets exclusivity experience that was meh and all its product offerings were alright
The best ambience with great food! We opted for a nest which cost about $700 just to sit in one. It was definitely an unforgettable experience. We shared a couple of mains and some drinks while watching the sunset. Our server was nice and attentive, we all had the best first night in Tulum.
Planned a 10 person bachelorette dinner here and with so many people, you have to email the restaurant for them to set it up for you. Once they set the reservation, we had to put a deposit down to secure the nest. The whole thing was slightly inconvenient, but totally understandable. The service and servers were superb. Absolutely no complaints, whatsoever. The food was remarkable with the exception of the desserts which I would personally skip on as the flavors just didn't mix well IMO. Definitely recommend the SHORT RIB W/ MOLE, OCTOPUS W/ ORZO and the SUCKLING PIG. Pricing for the food was $$$. It was HOT and there were A LOT of mosquitos. They did provide us with bug spray but by that time, it was too late and we were dinner for the bugs. There was barely any lighting so FYI it's also pretty dark. Overall, the experience was nice. Views were great only before and during the sunset. Night time comes and you can't see anything. Would I come back? Probably not, but I'm glad I was able to try it out with no regrets.
Kin Toh is definitely one of the most unique restaurants I've been to, sitting atop the trees in what feels like a nest. Beware, there is a minimum spend of around $30 USD per person for breakfast. If you go over, you have to pay the difference. The menu offered a wide selection of items, from Mexican style eggs to green tea chia pudding. I personally ordered the eggs Benedict. Unlike the Benedicts back in the state, this dish came with one Benedict instead of two. However, it was super filling and yummy. I also ordered a fruit platter and it was a HUGE, featuring papaya, pineapple, berries, honeydew, cantaloupe, and watermelon. The detox juice was also super delicious. The hosts downstairs gave us a bit of trouble getting in, as we made a reservation for 10 AM when the kitchen closes at 10:30 AM. However, the hostess for the actual restaurant itself was super sweet. This restaurant was definitely a super unique dining experience - I recommend if you have the chance! And definitely tour the hotel while you're at it.
Let me start off by saying that I've dreamed about coming to this place. From social media this place was honestly unbelievable. So I really looked forward to the day I would come to this place. So the day finally came and I asked about how to make reservations and you have to make them online because they require a deposit. Prior to making them I looked on yelp of course and ooooooooo the reviews didnt look good. I thought is it even worth it..and the deposit wasn't cheap. It was $50 per person which does go towards your meal but still. Well I thought what the heck I'm already here in Tulum and I've always wanted to go here so I made the reservations. I did make them on a Monday purposely because I hate crowds and wanted to avoid it. So I arrived and checked in with the host at 7:30pm. I heard they are super strict about timing so I arrived 15 mins early just in case. We were asked to wait promptly while we walked upstairs. So this is a hotel and passed the front desk lobby. As I walked upstair I was absolutely stunned and was recording everything... I mean wow!!!! As we arrived to the restaurant upstairs there was a pretty unique hammock around, seemed a little scary for me but it's very safe. I had to lay on it of course and take some photos or else it didnt happen right. There was another host upstairs and your server comes to see you at your table. Honestly it was hard to follow when I stopped to look at everything on the way. We had a perfect table with an amazing view. We asked our Miguel is we can see the "nest".. honestly its indescribable. Although I will mention the "nest" starts at $700 USD from what I was told by the host. We watched the sunset it was beautiful. Once back at our table, Miguel came to take our order about 3 times but we hadn't even looked at it too busy infatuated with this place. I read the dishes were small so we started with an appetizers each. I had the coconut soup I must be crazy because it was super hot indoor. Also a big FYI there is not air conditioning and it get pretty hot and humid inside which is super uncomfortable especially for me and we went when the weather was bearable. Ok overall, the food was on the smaller side but I got full and was perfect for me. I had an appetizer and shared an entree to start. Would have ordered more. Our server Miguel Cruz and Irma would exceptional. I'll let you in on a little secret... there is a museum downstairs and on the way out he spoke with his manager and they allowed us to go and it was empty :) . Ambiance, I mean need I say more? Price, expect to drop some benji's but worth it!!!!! hope you enjoy !
I have mixed feelings about this place... My party of 8 had a reservation at dinner opening (5) and the host didn't greet us until 5:25. We were kindly led to our table and our order wasn't taken for 30 minutes..everything moves slowly here (could be due to the lack of a/c). Food was mediocre at best. Dessert was interesting. After sunset, they start burning sage which really made the rest of our meal unpleasant. What we thought was their proactive way of keeping mosquitoes at bay actually made it feel like they invited them in. My whole party was so uncomfortable waiting for our bill due to the constant mosquito bites we all got. Most of us asked for our unfinished food to be boxed to go. They took it to the kitchen in which we again thought was a kind service. Wrong! They combined similar entrees into one box.. what made them think we wanted our individual meals boxed together?! If it wasn't for the picturesque setting, I'd skip this place!
I'll give 4 stars for the following; We're in 2019 right so you know places that are "Instagram worthy" are always a must go for bloggers and influencers Service was VERY good. Food was delicious but of course being a gastronomy restaurant small in portion. We came for my birthday so the idea seemed fitting however.... in my opinion SUPEEEEER expensive, but you're also paying for the experience. We had the tasting menu which was a four course meal (pictures to show) and the wine pairing which consisted of two glasses of white and two red! The grand total ....6000.00 pesos which with tip was 440.00 cad. I mean... if you understand that some places, the price you pay is also for the experience then you will be happy to visit here. Had a great time there. Our waiter was really knowledgeable about everything on the menu & we also got the chef's selection before getting our appetizers, we weren't expecting this and it was more than enjoyable. Also they have a nice bar area with a wide variety of cocktails, i got the hibiscus mezcal which was nothing but amazing. The view is breathtaking & the concept refreshing & boho chic, i really recommend this as a treat if you ever come to Tulum :) read more

This restaurant is absolutely gorgeous! I highly recommend coming while visiting Tulum. I made a reservation two months in advance and made it at 6:30 pm so we could watch the sunset over the jungle trees. I definitely recommend making a reservation in advance and having a copy of your confirmation on hand because they could not find out reservation at first. Also, the floor is really hard to walk on in heels so I ended up having to take them off. They let you take all the pictures you want and our server even let us check out the nests on top as well as take pictures which I really appreciated. The food and service were excellent. We ordered the octopus, lobster, and steak. The white wine was ice cold which went well with the seafood and was nice with the hot weather. It was pricey our bill came out to over $300, but we had a really great time and experience. read more

Honestly the vibe is cool Annd all but not worth the dinner. Don't go at night it's dark you have to use a flashlight to see literally anything. TOO DARK. Better in the day time. Two drinks and two appetizer came out to be $150.... Rip off. Can't even imagine dinner. Drinks and appetizers were sub par. Service was eh. PORTIONS ARE TINY!!!! Don't do dinner here. Go to chambao or taboo to put your money worth something. read more

It pains me to write this review but I have to do it... I really enjoyed my time at Azulik, but my experience at Kin Toh was just awful. We decided to make dinner reservations and stay on property for convenience, as one of the "angels" highly suggested it. I had my mind set on sitting in the nest, and was told it was easy to reserve since we were hotel guests. Upon arrival the hostess was extremely welcoming. We arrived early to redeem our complimentary champagne and to watch the sunset before dinner. I immediately inquired about nest seating and was told there's a $500 minimum spend. It caught me off guard considering the angel failed to mention that, so I looked at my boyfriend to see if he'd still be okay with that. He said it was up to me and I asked if we could be shown the nest, and she proceeded to pull up a picture of it on an iPad... I was under the impression that she didn't think I was serious, couldn't afford it, and we were just wasting her time. Even though she made me feel that way we were still considering it, because we typically order the tasting menu anyway and figured it was an easy spend. In the mist of enjoying the view and sunset, I see the hostess walk an older couple to view the nest, and another group of older people. That confirmed to me that just because my boyfriend and I look young and we hesitated on making the decision right away that we couldn't afford it, but thank the lord we opted out and sat at a regular table (still beautiful view) because it was hands down the worst meal I had in Tulum. The food was less than mediocre. Bland, over cooked, and over priced. We ordered two starters. The coconut ceviche and grilled octopus. Presentation was great, but lacking in flavor. The ceviche needed salt and a lot more citrus. It was monotoned. The octopus was good, and cooked well, but I found a strand of hair in it so they took it back and gave us a new one which was overcooked and chewy. I could tell they boiled the octopus prior and most likely throw it on the grill to char for each order which is why its overcooked. Aside from the chewiness, I didn't like how half of it was slimy and the other half was charred. We decided to share an entree. On the menu it says 28 days aged ribeye with mashed potatoes. When the dish came, I was in utter shock. What in the world am I looking at?! Two sliced pieces of beef cooked medium (we asked for mid rare) with zero fat. I HAVE NEVER BEEN SERVED RIBEYE THIS WAY. First of all, ribeye steak is a cut of meat with marbled fat. What we were given was lean. I even gave them the benefit of the doubt, maybe they decided to serve just the rib cap, but it was too soft with no chew... I honestly felt lied to and hustled. It was most definitely not dry aged, it didn't have any pronounced flavors. As for the mashed potatoes, they were over worked and had a gummy consistency. The best way to describe it, it tasted like the instant box mashed potatoes seasoned with instant noodle seasoning then thickened with cornstarch. Unbelievable. It is truly disappointing for such a beautifully built restaurant and concept just completely go to waste because the food was garbage. This place is supposed to be considered fine dining and fancy, but they give you paper napkins, the silverware didn't even match, and the service fell short and WE HAD TWO SERVERS but neither of them were attentive! Kin Toh, instead of being so focused on becoming something you're clearly not (fine dining) PLEASE focus on the full guest experience. People are so blinded by the beauty of the place, they don't even realize they're eating shitty, pretentious, over priced food, with rude and judgmental staff... read more

Worth the stop for the atmosphere and some pics but save your money. This is a restaurant concepted and built by foreign investors likely with the vision to amplify the best of Tulums characteristics: thatched huts, jungle, connection with nature. In this, I think it succeeded in peaking interest, but lacked authenticity as it failed to connect to the food. We picked our own off the menu, which contained most items from the tasting menu so I think we got a good feel for it. All the dishes were sub par and we were left quite disappointed. The menu/food just felt like an afterthought. Service was we sufficient but nothing exceptional. At the beginning, the server dropped off an amuse-bouche (cool) but didn't tell us what it was so that was a "fun" game of eating in the dark. Dinner: Ceviche: made of grouper, don't get this! It was cut way too big for a tough fish. Hard to chew and the texture was resistant to flavor. If you like fishy chewing gum, go for it. Steak: nothing special Fettuccine: first one we got was WAY too salty so it shot our palettes at the end of dinner. They gave us free water and a replacement. Replacement was ok, on the heavier/creamier side and truffle was strong. I can't remember the rest of what we ate because it wasn't worth remembering even after a $500 bill haha! read more

The space itself is amazing. They obviously are primarily focused on Instagram-worthiness to draw in the patrons. Since we had a reservation through opentable, we were rushed right to the front of a line with roughly 5 groups standing in it. It definitely gave the vibe of exclusivity and as it turned out, this is definitely by design. They also make it seem incredibly exclusive with the availability on OpenTable. They claim they have 3 services for dinner; 6:00, 7:30, and 9. However, we were sat at 6 and left at 8 and the restaurant was never more than 1/3 full. We speculated that they did that intentionally to keep the noise down and to maintain the exclusivity. All of this would have been just fine because we like a cozy and romantic dinner setting and having few people in the restaurant was a major plus - BUT - the food was hands down terrible. I hate to be so crass about it, but the chef clearly doesn't know what's they're doing. Everything was bland. The fettuccine was over cooked. The truffle shavings were chewy and got stuck in your teeth. The pumpkin dish tasted like it has raw ramen noodles on top of it. The mushroom appetizer had an awful aftertaste. I couldn't finish my fettuccine even after removing the chewy truffle shavings. A couple other things: There was no drink menu and when asked, our server said "we can do basic stuff like rum and coke". Seriously? You have a full bar and you charge $100 per person minimum and you can't put together some signature cocktails? The server - while nice enough - wasn't just new to Kin Toh, he was clearly new to serving in general. He knew absolutely nothing about the menu, was hard to understand and even took the opportunity to suggest to my vegan fiancé that she should consider eating cheese for this meal since the fettuccine was "soo good" ( it was terrible). This does not bode well with vegans. We did not complain, we were nice and we tipped our waiter, but we learned our lesson. This place is built for instagram and that is it. No "gastronomy" here. Go for some pics in the hanging nets and some views and some ambiance - do NOT waste your money on the food. Unless they improve things drastically. read more

The ambiance is beautifully well thought, decorations and placements of pillows and cushions throughout the wonderful place. The views of the beautiful Mexican scenery made this visit even more enjoyable. I loved the wonderful, warm and welcoming hospitality from this place. We reserved a nest for 5 people totaling 600$ just for the table. If you're a big spender, this restaurant is for you. Because you also need to put down at least 200$ per person on food, minimum. With that being said, the food is not very good. The chips/guacamole were awful, the bread was dry. The wine was 125$/bottle or 70$ a glass, and that's the cheapest. I was sick so I didn't even eat my entree. My amigos ate their entrees and said they were pretty good. The only thing on the dessert menu worth the price was the honeycomb dessert. You're really paying for the experience/the instagram pics lol. I thought the nest was a really cool idea, but there were definitely flaws especially if this is supposed to be fine dining. There were so many mosquitos eating us alive up there, with no mosquito netting or anything. then they had to smoke the skitos out so we're choking on smoke the whole time. It was super hot, humid in September with no AC obviously. So we were sitting there just sweating for a portion of the meal until the sun went down and cooled off a bit. All in all, it was cool but not worth the money. I wouldn't go back. read more

Kin Toh is absolutely stunning and is worth a fancy night out while youre visiting Tulum. We had a group of 10 people and made reservations for dinner. However we weren't really hungry and decided to just go for drinks instead which was the best decision ever since dinner can be a bit pricey. For drinks, you do not need a reservation, but do get there early to reserve a spot! We got there around 6pm and it wasn't too busy. It started getting busy around 7-8pm. For the bar and lounge area, it is a $32 USD minimum (About 568~ MXP) per person, which you pay with the hostess. If you order more food or drinks that go over your minimum, then you just pay the difference to your server like you regularly would when you are about to leave. We had access to the bar and lounge area which is actually huge and absolutely beautiful. I was just expecting one bar with basic seating, but this completely exceeded my expectations! The bar included a bunch of tasty cocktails + a taco menu and the tacos were absolutely delicious. You only have access to the nets if you are there for dinner. Since we were on the bar/lounge side we technically were not allowed to take photos on the nets. However I asked our server it was okay to take photos on the nets, and she allowed us to since the restaurant side was not too crowded and busy. Staff was very welcoming and friendly as well. They greeted us when we arrived and answered any questions we had. Our server was very sweet and always checked up on us. She even offered us bug spray since we were sitting outside when it got dark. I definitely recommend this restaurant/bar to anyone looking to have one fancy night out! Drinks and tacos were amazing and the design of the space makes for a great photo opp. read more

Kin Toh was breathtaking. From the ambiance, to the food, the company, and the service, it is such a special place to dine. We had a group of 15 and they were able to accommodate us at two different table next to each other due to COVID restrictions. The food was amazing and they experience was even better. This is a great spot for a couple or a group of friends! read more
We arrived midday for lunch. It was extremely humid out and they don't have air conditioning so that was a bad idea. I should've taken the clue because no one was there at that time. If you look at the pictures they are mostly full at night it seems. So plan to go there for dinner. Alot of Tulum seems to come alive at night. However, we did have some great drinks and food. I ordered the Kin Toh cocktail, and I loved it. We also ordered the Tuna tar tar and the guacamole. We weren't that hungry for a full meal...but it was all delicious. But we did notice after that they charged us for the water. read more

Please be warn! 1. There is a minimum of 1000 (US dollars) to be in the birds nest outside. For a romantic dinner inside, there is a minimum total of 500. I wish they had informed of this earlier. 2. My husband and I are vegans and the menu has changed. They started using leaves for gluten free, vegetarian and vegan. The symbols look the same. Anyways my husband and I ordered a vegan appetizer and it had a vegan symbol next to it. It had fish in it. First we were given a hard time about swapping it out for a vegan appetizer. We were told that we could cancel it. Then we were told we could swap it. We ended up canceling it and just ordering an entree. I wish that the waiter was more understanding. 3. The bottled water was so expensive. It was 100 peso. 4. The food was not that great. 5. Views are so nice otherwise!!!!!! 6. Also be warn about the taxis outside. Try to negotiate with the taxi drivers outside. They usually over charge. read more

I'm glad I read the other reviews before coming here to experience this magical place myself. Definitely make reservations in advance and if you're obsessed with sunsets & photos like me, request a table near the window and pick a time slot one hour before sunset, if you can. I really enjoyed laying in the netting above the top of the stairs looking into nature. Staff was great and didn't mind taking photos. We loved the flavorful warm oysters that had truffles and a buttery sauce over the top. We a second order of the same dish right before dessert. There was an excellent grouper fish ceviche with avocado skin chips that were just as delicious as they were aesthetically beautiful. The spicy cocktail on the menu was also so good we ordered more of the same. We will indeed be back as we did not get to go inside the nest. We tried to return with a group of friends two days later without reservations but they were fully booked. I get excited just thinking about this place. You HAVE TO GO! xx read more

Spectacular experience. A must in for a visit to Tulum in my opinion. The architecture is so unique and gorgeous setting you up for an atmosphere like no other. Sitting outside in one of the "nests" is quite expensive for an everyday dinner (as there is a minimum of $250 per person) but I'd say certainly worth it for a special occasion. You get amazing views of the sunset and sitting high above the town, it's really magical. The food was really fantastic. Plating was beautiful for everything. The flavors were very innovative and new but delicious. Each part of the dish worked well together, adding to the story of the dish. Everything was cooked, prepared, presented, and served with nothing less than perfection. I would highly recommend the sea lion ceviche, the suckling pig (the crispy skin was to die for), the catch of the day (we got a sea bass), and surprisingly, the octopus. I hate getting octopus as it's so over done everywhere these days but this was a good dish that stood out from others. read more

PLACE IS UNBELIEVABLE... the entire vibe and energy at this place is amazing and I highly recommend it especially for a special event. My husband and I celebrated our 4 year wedding anniversary and really enjoyed everything about it. Only reason I gave 4 stars is because I personally feel the food was not what I expected, it was good and tasty but a whole different style of food than what I am use to and was expecting for a high class restaurant. Overall our experience at Kin Toh was incredible and unforgettable; however for a $500+ dinner, the food was not worth the price. It was definitely a delicious meal, but not worth $500. The ambiance, service and over all experience made up for what was lacking in food. We loved the atmosphere so much we went back the next day for cocktails. Worth the experience, just be prepared to pay A LOT. read more

Meal was delicious! Atmosphere was great and staff was very attentive! Up in the treetop gives beautiful views. Wear flip flops and lightweight clothes as it is warm at times. Hard to get reservations as many plan months ahead but they do offer walk in sitting at bar if you agree to purchase a minimum of $30 of drinks or food from the bar menu. They served us the full menu at a table bar and it was perfect. read more

Kin Toh is a once in a lifetime experience. Although it can be very price if you are going in a small group, the view alone is worth it! I didn't hear the best reviews about the food and a lot of complaints about the portion sizes but was pleased with everything. The treehouse vibe is so cool and sitting in a nest with a beautiful sunset in Tulum is indescribable. Our waiter was amazing took so many photos for us and really let us enjoy the moment. If you book a nest you have it until they close. Our total came out to $324 a person which included our food and drinks, the nest rental and tip. I definitely recommend the risotto appetizer it is to die for and the presentation of all the food is nice. For dinner I had the truffle pasta which was also delicious and a decent size. Between the two appetizers, the bread, and my meal I definitely left there feeling satisfied. They provide bug spray for you which I thought was great. If you cant afford renting one of the nests our waiter told us that you can wait in a line out front to go up to a nest for free during sunset. It is first come first serve so there is no guarantee but I would recommend doing that and eating dinner inside the restaurant if you don't want to rent a nest out. Ambiance: 5-star rating! Beautiful, unique, nice decorations and view, great place to take pictures for your Instagram . Service: 3-star rating! Bought the $500 package with private seating and view but received below expectations for service. Out of sight, out of mind. Waiter would only bring food then completely forget about the table. Had to come downstairs to order more food and get bill. Food quality : 3-star rating! Aesthetically pleasing but taste is average or below. Portions are very tiny and some sauces did not mix well together. Price: 3-star rating! You do not get what you pay for. If you eat here, just get a regular table because you can walk to any part of the restaurant to take photos. This restaurant was just ok. After reading the mixed reviews I decided to try it for myself. The overall experience was nice. I would say this is a must go to place for the ambiance alone. The food was over priced for the amount The quality was ok The service was great The portion size was French style (super small) The drinks were not strong but presentation was The ambiance was amazing The views were outstanding I'd definitely come back but maybe as a pit stop before dinner and just have drinks. To my dismay I thought that the menu included more vegan options that what I noticed...in comes our amazing server Mario. He walked me through the menu and he got me a substitution for their chocolate dessert that was scrumptious. Mario's service was exceptional as he told us that the kitchen was having issues. He gave us a tour and he gave us recommendations on the mezcal drinks and food. I will definitely recommend Mario if you want to have an amazing experience here. The views from here are absolutely stunning! I had the 8course meal and each dish was flavorful and definitely unique. It's recommended that you get here well before sunset because it gets busy as everyone is trying to get a drink or pictures as the sunset. You can enjoy happy hour here as well if you don't want to do the full dinner experience but I would recommend both! A must visit place while in Tulum! read more
I'm still thinking about this place months later and wanted to give it a review!! The decor and flavors really won me over. I'm sure the menu may have changed a bit but I would recommend to anyone in Tulum. My friend and I made a reservation just a few days ahead and we did get a pretty decent view though not the best. We were seated right away, but did take some time to explore the restaurant afterwards and lay in the hammock area. Even the restroom has a great view and open window that is unique that's a good mirror selfie photo op. Decor is just amazing! But it will be hot until the sun goes down. For the drinks they had a special person dedicated to helping you select a wine to pair with your meal. I remember the small bite sort of appetizer was included and really tasty. The bread came with a variety of flavored butters to try. I ordered the tacos which had a great presentation, and tasty guacamole on top. Then we got free dessert bites as well, and this was one of the most memorable flavors for me (not pictured sorry). At this place you will have to tell your waiter when you want the check. This just seems to be the custom in this area. We were a bit shy about this and so hung around at the table longer than we really wanted. The bill was quite pricey, probably one of the most expensive places I've ever been, but on vacation I was willing to pay more for this experience and it was worth it to me. They did take pesos, card, or USD. We did inquire about the hookah however it was ridiculously expensive. read more

Beautiful view! But it was so dark to really see anything! They only open for dinner at 5:30 so if you don't come before 6 everything will be dark. The food was not so good here. Only my steak was okay. Everything was so salty! Will come back for the atmosphere but the food was not appreciated. read more
