I stopped by last weekend after hearing Kimzey's was closing on May 21st. Kimzey's was filled with people, however there were spots available to sit. I was greeted by the barista, Connor and ordered a golden milk latte with their banana nut bread. My order didn't take long to make and I enjoyed looking at the beautiful artwork on the wall. The golden milk latte was flavorful with a nice spice kick and the banana nut bread had cinnamon mixed in, simply divine. I'm sad that this lovely coffeeshop is closing, however I appreciated that the atmosphere was lively. read more

While running errands, I decided to take a caffeine break at this cafe. Waiting for the family ahead of me to finish their order, I browsed the display case and decided to get a spicy sausage roll. When I ordered the Golden Milk Latte, the cashier informed me that it did not contain espresso. She mentioned that espresso could be added for an extra charge. I asked if the espresso would affect the flavor, and she said it would be slightly noticeable. As I searched for an alternative beverage, she mentioned it a few more times. Ultimately, I decided to go with the Golden Milk Latte. My order was served at the same time as the customers ahead of me. Interestingly, my coffee was served in a mug, while theirs were in takeout cups, even though they were drinking theirs indoors. I would have preferred a takeout cup for my coffee so I could continue with my errands. The sausage roll was served with a fork, which was convenient since it was still hot from the oven. A knife would have made it easier to cut into smaller pieces. I am not sure if I was mistakenly served a regular sausage roll or if they have a different definition of spicy. The bland flavor of the sausage had me the pastry to it. The Golden Milk Latte was average at best. Most of the turmeric was on top of the coffee, and I could not taste it when I sipped the latte underneath. Since the latte was not served with a spoon, I did not expect to stir the turmeric into the latte itself. I might have had a better experience if I had opted for a regular latte and skipped the sausage roll. read more

There is a TON of space inside and a great place to work if that's your thing to do in coffee shops. There are usually people working there when I stop by. I love the forest cottage vibes of this little place! The diamond lattice windows and high ceilings feel like something out of a European fairy tale. There's a Little Free Library in the semi-enclosed courtyard in the front. The place is more spacious than it looks from the outside with multiple rooms of seating. I wish there had been more cozy stuffed chairs or sofas. They were blasting metal songs during my visit which seemed a little discordant also. There was a long line when I went but the barista handled everyone's orders swiftly. These guys have the merch game figured out. There's a huge wall of t-shirts, tumblers and more available. The coffee menu actually seemed a bit minimal to me, but they also offer light snacks. I ordered a caramel latte and it was perfection! Yummy, smooth, not too acidic, not too sweet. read more

I really enjoyed visiting Kimzy's coffee. The exterior looks like something out of a fairytale. The inside is homey, whimsical, and modern. There are various rooms where I encountered people studying, hanging with friends, and catching up on work. My hubby and I grabbed a table and a few lattes and did the same! First of all, this is like a tiny fairytale cottage and it's so fun!! It has a mini free library right outside before going through the front door. The place is also good for working or meeting up with a friend!! Yes the coffee is good... especially the iced coffee!! But, the star of this trip for me was the spicy sausage roll!! I wanted to like it. Oh man did I want to like it. Saw this place on TikTok and was instantly sold. I'm very much an aesthetic person so a cute fairytale cottage coffee shop? I'm there! There's so much seating, the theming is cute, it's in a good location with lots of parking, a drive-through, AND it has one of those little libraries. Now the sad part. Not a lot of food or drink options. Not a dealbreaker. I can live without it. The quality of the food and drinks, however. Just awful. Got a breakfast burrito that had egg and potato. It tasted really gross and when we opened it up, it was all mashed together into one glob. Got an iced latte with 2 pumps vanilla with whole milk. It tasted almost rotten. I ended up throwing it away. I know I could've gone and asked for another one but it took over 30 minutes to get the first cup and it wasn't even busy so at that point I was too frustrated to bother. I want to first start by saying the vibes here were immaculate! The coffee shop is so cute and it was a nice, cozy vibe. It had average noise level for a coffee shop and I could easily have a convo with my friends over the noise. I didn't have a great first experience here though. We travelled about 30 minutes to come check this place out after seeing a TikTok for it. I ordered a bacon egg and cheese taco and a hot chocolate at 11:04 AM. I asked the lady checking me out what was on the taco - she told me only bacon, egg, cheese and tortilla. That sounded great to me bc I have allergies and I would be able to eat all of that fine. My breakfast taco came out around 11:12 and when I opened it up I noticed it had peppers and other things mixed into the egg mixture - I didn't even see the bacon but I think it was just all mixed in. It smelled really good but because of my allergies I wasn't comfortable eating it and I couldn't ask the staff to remake it bc every time I tried to grab their attention they were too busy with the drive thru. I decided to just take the loss and toss it. I continued to wait for my hot chocolate and I went to check on it around 11:20 and asked for it to be placed in a to to cup. The lady told me I was 3 orders back and they all ordered prepared to go - I thought this was odd bc the instagram showcase pretty drinks in mugs but oh well , no big deal i guess. Finally got my hot coco just after 11:30 and it was like warm and mostly milk :/ I drank it anyway bc again they were too busy to get their attention and I honestly didn't feel like waiting another 30 minutes. I want to try this location again bc I feel like they were just having a bad day but I could only recommend going if you're already in the area - I wouldn't recommend traveling for it. read more

We don't live all that close, so we can't make it often, but it's literally worth going way out of our way to come once in a while, just for the relaxation and the treat. This place is so aesthetic, it's trying way harder than it needed to. It's straight up beautiful inside and out, looks like something that should be next to Snow White in Walt Disney World, no exaggeration. The service is always pleasant, probably because working here is as nice as the other side of the counter. The easy part of the review is the coffees and little treats. Delicious. They were huge Tangled fans not too long ago, so I thought that this would be a fun experience since they're old enough to enjoy coffee now. Nonetheless, it was pretty good for the ambiance. The building is cute, out of the Tangled folklore of sorts, but the food and coffee were just okay. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing, but the drink that I had was very powdery and chalky as I reached the bottom of it. I ordered the drink with 3 shots of espresso but desired more. The tacos were okay, they definitely needed the salsa. My daughters enjoyed the quiche, but that was about it. Service was good, everyone was very attentive. This is a coffee shop that looks like a cottage a Hobbit would live in. Very eclectic inside and out. The blueberry latte sounds strange but was extremely good! I also had the quiche which was extremely fluffy and had cheese and bacon. They heat the food up and then deliver it to your table which I liked. So cute, love the interior/ exterior all of it, it's absolutely charming with indoor/ outdoor space to enjoy with a group or catch up on some work. I had a regular coffee and impulse purchase sausage roll. Overall great, 16 oz is the largest coffee you can it, it was smooth not bitter and not more of a medium roast. The sausage roll comes in regular or spicy, I got the regular and was surprisingly delish with cheese stuffed goodness inside the sausage. Overall great, I'm glad I went inside but I only did so because the drive thru was WAY too long, it didn't seem like it was moving was all but that might be normal. Kimzey's has a very storybook quality about it. As soon as you pull in, you feel like you're in a magical place. Brightly lit, spacious interior with a little patio for relaxing. The inside seating is alright too, I wouldn't recommend the cushion seats as they are dirty and slouched in making it hard on the back. Pick the wooden seats. This is, without a doubt, the grooviest place to get coffee in DFW. It's like a cottage in a fantasy novel, mixed with a bit of Tudor flair, and rustic old-world. A great vibe. As for the drinks... wow. Their coffee is delicious, the presentation is excellent. The most startling and tasty drink on the menu, though, has no coffee in it! You MUST try the "Golden Milk Latte." Muffin was a tad dry (still wonderful), quiche was a bit too wet (but very flavorful), the handpie was both of our favorites as it had a good amount of filling with a decent spice to it, but not over powering. We were driving by and saw this really cool building that is a coffee shop. It looked like a troll house to me. We just had to stop in for some coffee. I ordered a sugar free vanilla latte with almond milk. It was delicious!! The perfect blend of vanilla and coffee. It was also a great temperature. Hot but not so hot I couldn't drink it. My daughter had an iced Rosy days ahead drink. I tasted it and it was really great too. They had several different cute rooms to hang out in if you wanted to read a book, study or chat with friends. It's like a German or Dutch cottage with coffee inside...in Argyle, TX. When I was in college I had a pair of argyle socks. They were the preppiest thing ever. Sky blue and pink. Name a city in Texas after this classic pattern and what kind of coffee shop would you expect to find there? Not one like Kimzey's. I didn't ask, but the name sounds like a nickname for a little girl named Kim. The building must have been something else before, a cafe perhaps. The transporting look of it is instantly magnetic. I brought GF here with no preparation. As we were pulling in she said, "Oooh what's that place?" Date points for being able to say, "That's where I'm taking you for coffee." Our first visit was January 2021, in full pandemic, so the seating was wide open and separated for social distancing. Ordering was easy. It took me a minute to figure out the extremely obvious "Line this way" sign on the wall. The inside really sells as a wood cabin. We both are under some dietary restrictions and were not able to enjoy the sweeter end of the menus. But the coffee was smooth and rich, as expected from the West Oak brand. We were asked to keep our stay to an hour if the room filled up, to honor social distancing and share the space. I like this approach. On a Monday morning, the building was filling up by the time we left. The atmosphere was chill and the service strong. We will definitely be back! read more

West Oak coffee North West of the Metroplex. I love their espresso shot ice cream with sprinkles. It can come with chocolate or vanilla. It tastes smoooooth. I also like their beans, especially the fruity ones, Bag was $18 and they give you a free americano or something along those lines if you buy a bag. Great tasting coffee at an affordable price. Atmosphere is quiet in the back rooms, with multiple people studying and lively in the front when you first walk in, playing music over the speaker. The inside is amazingly cute. Very quaint, perfect music, and low key chill. I am a big latte snob lol. I did not like that there was no coconut milk as an option so I got almond milk. I also did not get the sweet vanilla taste in the cup as I have from other places. I also think they need to consider upgrading their food options. $5 for a kolache is a bit outrageous. They need more protein heavy options like breakfast burritos, etc. I would say other than the lack of coconut milk, lack of food options, the place is decent. Give me all of their coffee! This place is incredible. I've been wanting to visit here for over a year now but just haven't gotten around to it with the pandemic. Finally got to visit on a Saturday around 2 pm. The exterior is whimsical and reminds me of something I'd likely find in Sweden or Scandinavia. I don't know if that was intentional but regardless, I am all for it! The inside is cozy and the staff are friendly. There is a lot of indoor and outdoor seating to choose from. There are a few rooms to choose from that are all spacious and each with their own cozy vibe. A great place for a coffee date, studying, online work, or just to relax. So how is their coffee, you ask? I ordered a white chocolate mocha latte with oat milk and it was by far the best one I've ever tasted to date! I also got their bacon quiche and it was super delicious! My mom got a cappuccino which she enjoyed. We both agreed that this place is our new favorite coffee spot.
