Got the fried calamari and popcorn chicken at the medium level spicy and they were pretty freakin spicy, but in a good way. Probably wouldn't do their actual spicy level unless I was really confident. But everything was fresh out of the fryer and super crispy which is a huge plus. I thought I might not like it without ketchup or other condiments which they do offer for 25 cents, but the spices were perfect as is. I also got a strawberry lime slurpee with boba. I literally made this account just to leave a review and leave some insight on my experience. I'm a regular customer and never have had any problems with this particular location until today.. I came in and ordered my drink and not even 1 second after I paid the worker THEN told me that they were out of boba.. after I already bought it. I used to work at a boba store and any good establishment, especially a franchise... should know how long it takes to make boba and know when to start a new batch. You shouldn't be running out of boba at 4pm. The establishment itself was very messy, trash and crumbs all over the tables. On top of that I waited 20 minutes for ONE drink. I ordered at 4:05 and left at 4:28. The employee (same one who took my order) was being rude and when I went to the counter to ask about my drink she blatantly ignored me. Im not sure of her name but she has glasses and curly pigtails. This location needs to do better and hire some people who actually have customer service. read more

Tea is fantastic. The fruit flavored drinks actually taste like fruit, rather than an overly sweet syrup, and the boba is always fresh. Their peanut butter cookies and popcorn chicken are also very good. I come here twice a week lol. Love u Kim's :) read more

Kim's is a great alternative to the monotony that surrounds the Katy area (which is quickly burgeoning into quite the multicultural foodie hub). The banh mi are nothing to write home about, especially when compared to the superior options in midtown and chinatown, but they are there to satisfy your nagging cravings. The popcorn chicken and squid balls, reminiscent of those sold at Tapioca House, are not quite as good, but they are pretty tasty. Price-wise, the drinks are comparable to those at your local Starbucks, but they are a little more expensive than options in chinatown. The convenience of access is what you really pay for. Overall, the place is pretty packed with customers during busy times, so it's always a lively place if you want to grab a quick drink and hang out with friends. It's nothing special, unless you have not been fortunate enough to explore southwest Houston. They don't have wi-fi, though, so it's not a place to go if you want to study - although you could always hop onto the wi-fi from My Fit Foods next door. read more

Good alternative to coffee house with delicious drink flavors for all tastes. KTH is not like the Teahouse in Katy Mills. It is setup more like a coffee house, including a couch, some comfy chairs, and a few tables. KTH attracts a younger crowd than the coffee houses, but it is still quiet and comfortable. You will find a standard, humongous tea house menu with 10000 different drinks, but KTH also offers food, such as sandwiches and popcorn chicken. I arrived with my daughter and she had a strawberry banana tapioca drink with a croissant. She enjoyed both...the drinks taste fresh and full of flavor and the croissant was fresh and tasty. I really wanted a coffee from a coffee house, but noticed KTH offers about 15 different coffee drinks. I instead opted for a coffee/banana drink with tapioca and Splenda. It was a delicious combination and I would definitely have it again. We sat for a bit and enjoyed the free wifi before leaving. I would like to try one of the pork sandwiches when I return. Note that KTH offers a frequent drinker club. I believe you get a free drink after ten drink stamps have been accumulated on your drink card. Ask at the register. read more

I bookmarked this place based on reviews and then lo' and behold I'm in the area mid to late afternoon and someone says let's go to Kim's. I'm like ok, no better time to try it than the present and it's convenient. Next, the popcorn chicken, I mean come on look at the reviews it was a given, then sweet potato fries. Not enough for 3 of us, so I ask about the bahn mi and the girl says get bbq pork it's the most popular. Ok, so I did. When I sat down to eat I really didn't expect much I mean truthfully this is not my genre of food. I was blown away! Popcorn chicken- ordered medium, little spicy, very tender (since they are thighs) and very, very tasty. The best popcorn chicken ever and not your standard. It's a must! The bahn mi was incredible. It had shredded carrots, bbq pork slices, and other stuff too but the roll sealed the whole deal. Sweet potato fries looked like they were cut fresh from the potato and really the best I've had in a long time. So I guess you'd gather by now from the excessively long review that I confidently recommend Kim's and the items I ordered. You will not be disappointed!!! Bubble tea in Katy = a happy me! The tea here is just like what you'll find in Chinatown, and the snacks are good too. The shop provides a great place to hang out, with plenty of tables and couches, although they play their music pretty loudly. I went here on a Wednesday afternoon, and it was pretty crowded. I got a green tea cream tea with egg pudding, reduced sugar. The tea itself was refreshing, and the pudding pieces had a light, sweet vanilla flavor. We also ordered spicy squid balls and popcorn chicken to share. Be warned - the squid balls really pack a punch! My tongue was burning for awhile afterwards, but at least I had boba to soothe it. Both snack items used the same addictively salty seasoning and were really tasty, but I would have liked the chicken to be crunchier. Overall, this is an awesome place to catch up with friends. Kim is always been one of the nicer tea house in Katy. Been coming in here for a while. The store is set up very nicely and I always enjoy hang out there with friends. The milk team is always delicious, but the boba is a bit small for my taste, I mean is nicely cook chewy and texture is nice, but a bit small for me. I've had Kim's teahouse twice already. The first time, I ordered the Almond Milk Tea with pudding and an order of popcorn chicken to-go. The Almond Milk Tea was really sweet. I didn't expect it to be that sweet and the aroma/flavoring of almond was a bit overpowering. The chicken was a good spicy and it was pretty juicy for popcorn chicken. The only thing I did not like was the fact that it was so greasy/oily. It wasn't even that crispy, even the basil. I thought maybe it was just a bad order. But that's not the case, because I went back 2 weeks later and it was also still greasy. I would say that I like The Teahouse popcorn chicken better than Kim's. I also tried a regular milk tea and it was still a little sweet. Maybe I'll ask for less sugar next time. Overall, I'm sure this place is good given all the menu selections it has. I'll definitely give this another try and hope that the milk tea gets better. As far as chicken goes, I'll probably only order it if I'm having a huge craving for it and if I'm too far from my usual Teahouse spot. read more

I ordered the Egg Pudding Cream Tea w/ Tapioca and Spicy Popcorn Chicken both were great! I love spicy and I'd say for starters get the medium spice. Although nothing was extraordinary, I'd say this is a good spot if you don't want to drive ~30 minutes to Bellaire. With that said the convenience comes at a price since the nearest Boba competitor is 15-20 minutes away in any direction. I'll come back here if its on the way but I won't go out of my way for it. Kim's is my absolute favorite place to get boba from around me! There's plenty of places closer to me, but if I have the chance, I'll only go here. Service here is quicker than other places and their drinks taste better and more real. My favorite drink from any boba place is a Taro Cream Tea, and Kim's has the best tasting (though I'm pretty sure it's still from a powder). Sadly, I forgot to write down what the price of my drink was, but it was akin to the price of one of the smaller sizes at Starbucks. The place isn't necessarily the most picturesque place, but it's super casual with a lounge area and TV, or tables with easy to reach outlets, but it's the drinks that keep me and my friends coming back. Kim's is a hometown favorite. Knowing that the locations are only in Houston is what makes it unique. Although it's a chain, its still a mom/pop store. I love love love their popcorn chicken. The spice level just varies on who's shaking the shaker because it seems like some days I can handle SPICY and others I can't even do MEDIUM on my popcorn chicken. As an asian american, I've been know about tapioca but since this location opened in Katy, it's been introduced to other ethnic groups. I would say I've tried almost all their drinks from simple Honey Green Teas to the most complicated smoothies but my go-to will always be Green Thai Tea with an ice-cream scoop and tapioca (if in the mood). Of course we know drinks can vary according to who's making the drink but that's something that's always been consistent for me. Smoothies/Slurpees/Some teas have been too sweet or too sour or just not right. Green Thai Tea has yet to fail me. I know they moved their location to the right to get a drive-thru window which was an extremely smart idea. Along doing so, their interior has expanded enormously. Super cute inside. Check it out.
