If I could give this place 1000/10 stars I would. I'm from Orange County California where there's AMAZING Korean food and let me tell you that this place was such a special find. The food is made with incredibly authentic intention. They serve purple rice, and make all their own banchan. The banchan was so so good - the kimchi alone was the perfect spicy and fermented. Truly well done. I ordered the mackerel and the spicy tofu soup - extra spicy. The fish was IMMACULATE. Perfect sauce with onions and radish to accompany it and served over crunchy cabbage. This fish was a highlight of the entire meal. Spicy tofu soup is highly rated in my book and I am very particular with this soil and this place nailed it. Lastly I have to shout out the service. Such a wonderful service with Brandy and her brother in law Caden serving me up like I was in their living room. It felt so cozy and like home away from home eating here. I was told to come to this restaurant by many different people and given that I enjoy Korean food and love Gimbap and noted that this is one of the few Korean restaurants that actually makes Gimbap (besides Korean stores), and seeing/knowing that many Korean people have endorsed this place as authentic, I decided to give this place a try. I came here on a weekend and there was quite a long wait, given how popular this place is. It took about 45 minutes to get my food. On first glace, it did not appear to be an authentic Korean food just looking at it from outside, but I would say that my opinion changed when I got my food. Ambiance-wise, it is lively and busy and there is not much to talk about in terms of the decor and what the inside of the restaurant looks like. I will have to say that parking is tricky given that both peripheral roads to this place are one-way, so getting in can be tricky unless you make long loops, so just be aware of that, especially on the weekend when there is not much parking in front of the restaurant. Service is friendly but a little bit slower I ordered a Beef Gimbap and a Beef Bulgogi which came out to around $45 before tipping. This place is definitely ridiculously overpriced in my opinion. Now on to the food, the best part! The Beef Gimbap was decent, but not the best I've had. It was peculiar getting purple rice, but I was not against it. It was just....different. As for the Beef Bulgogi, it was also pretty decent. It was not too sweet, and was seasoned and cooked well. The banchan was not the best I've had, but also was enjoyable. Overall, I would say this place is very similar to many authentic Korean places I have been to, and is a place I recommend visiting. However, I don't think this is among the top Korean places I have visited. read more

Very fresh and flavorful. All made by a sole Korean gentlemen, who took over the place when the original folks who ran it retired. I must say the tradition is being carried on very well. My daughter and I both went Beef Bulgogi, and I was very glad it wasn't too sweet, rather than some Americanized ones from other Korean places in our area. Ban Chan was nice, with perfect portions to not have to ask for more. Their Kimbap is huge, as well, and we wound up taking half home. The pan-fried Mandu was not as lucky, because they were all greedily devoured at the table. Our waitress was very nice--not Korean--but knew the menu very well. Ive loved this place for years. My grandma introduced us to it when I was little and the beef bulgogi was a weekly staple. As time moved on, grandma passed away and we moved from the area. After 10 years, I finally came back to try it and I'm proud to say it's still the same amazing, nostalgic food I remembered. The staff and owners are so kind and helpful. I'm a Korean guy from California, the land where Korean restaurants flow like salmon of Capistrano. I'm here for a week at Gonzaga for a conference. After 4 days of sandwiches and pizza and burgers, my DNA was disturbed and badly craving some Korean food. I did a quick Google search and this was the only legit looking Korean restaurant in the area. I thought to myself, it's probably not going to be very good but I'll give it a try. It was surprisingly delicious. As soon as I walked in, I knew this place was legit by the decor and the family running the restaurant. The daughter created me and then she hollered in Korean to her parents. "We've got a party of one!" The banchan was excellent and the soondooboo was delicious. Well we got there at 11:30am, we were the first people there. Over an hour later we had seen multiple to go orders and 2 other tables served and we still had not gotten our food. At 12:30pm we finally asked the server how much longer and she let us know it would be another 15 minutes as she's packing up more to go orders that had come in AFTER our order. So I can't tell you if the food is any good because I had to go back to work. The staff seemed nice enough but the cook came and took our order and let us know he had a huge to go order come in so he needed to get our order now. Not sure why he bothered. Cute little mom and pop shop. The place reminds me of my grandma's. The food is delicious and the banchan side dishes come with your meal. Great varity of dishes from spicy to sour and sweet. I liked the small vibes of the place, sharing tables is a common thing outside of the states and it was cool in getting to experience that. The service was wonderful, even for a full house when I went in. The beef on the bulgogi was a bit on the tougher side but was seasoned very well. Food was good, but the service does take some time. There's only one person serving the tables and it took a loooong time to get our food. The banchan was tasty... refills are $1 each and don't expect the same portion size... felt like it was less. Korean herbal tea is not the same as Korean tea. I was not a fan and next time will order green tea. Ordered the galbi. Good portion but the meat was also fatty. Purple rice is always great. I LOVE this place for lunch/dinner. The Korean food here is so authentic and tastes amazing. My favorite is their beef kimbap and the bibimbap. The use of purple rice is appreciated, tastes delicious too. It's so rare to find hand rolled kimbaps anymore and Kim's does it to perfection. The bibimbap is also so unique. I've had many bibimbaps and they usually all taste the same, but there's something special about this one. Their lunch specials are a really good deal! Really friendly servers. Lots of indoor seating. Parking is good, but the Dutch bros line can be annoying. read more

A small, cute restaurant that has a 'hold in the wall', family-owned vibe. There are a few parking spots in front of it, but there are more spots to the side as well. We went around 5PM on the weekend. The place is packed and there was 1 server attending all ~9 tables, plus take-out orders. She was doing a great job! The food came slow (30+ minutes for 4 dishes), but I'm sure it's because they were running a bit behind with so many customers inside the restaurant. I didn't mind and no one else inside seemed to either! Everything you order comes at once, including the banchan (that is provided with your meal) and rice. The food was delicious, authentic, and well-priced. Nothing was overall salty or sauced. I probably wouldn't get the noodles again as I'm not a big fan of the type of noodle/sauce used, but the rest was spot on. I love that they give 9 different banchan, which all tasted amazing. I loved the cucumber especially! Also, I LOVE the purple rice! It has a subtle nutty flavor and I don't see it a lot in other Korean restaurants. Very diminutive dining area with homemade yarn seat cushions to complete the whole "Korean grandma" vibe. But the food is quite solid. Generous pan chan. I've heard from folks this is the best Korean restaurant in town, and they're not kidding! I ordered their bibimbap and it had purple rice. Others I have ordered are just plain white rice but purple rice, not only has a nice purple hue, but has a nice nutty subtle flavor, and even more healthy! The hot bowl gives the rice a nice crispy flavor for a nice crunch of rice. The banchans were okay. The kimchi was more salty than spicy and my favorite, the cucumber banchan was a flavorless. I noticed they used regular cucumbers and usually other restaurants use Persian cucumbers for a crispier crunch. read more

Very limited parking. I went around 5 pm and got the last spot as the previous car was backing out. There were only 2 customers in there when we went in so I feel like finding parking could be an issue during mealtime. Small place. Even smaller due to social distancing. The place was full around 6 pm, but the owner tried her best to keep a safe distance between people so the people came in after had to order takeout. Food-wise, they have more traditional things on the menu. Not as flashy and "luxury" as what's on some place's menu, but sometimes you just want a simple meal without all the things that add to the price. The food they make and the place itself give me a family vibe. Food was good but not amazing. They also use paper menu now to reduce physical contact. It seems to me that everything is priced reasonably considering the location. read more

It seemed like the waitress might have been having a bad day considering how she slammed my dishes down on the table and refused to describe the menu to me. She would also not split the check. This is a little hole in the wall restaurant. At first it's hard to see as it located on Division right next to the Dutch Bros. Parking in snug and you might have to compete with he line from Dutch Bros BUT IT IS SO WORTH IT. This restaurant is so cozy and is perfect for a family meal (i think max is 6 people though). All of the dishes were delicious and were cooked to perfection. All the dishes suited everyone who joined for dinner (group of 5) and our group ranged from those who couldn't handle spice to those who love insanely hot food . KIM'S HITS THE SPOT, and it's a 5/5 for what's available out here in Spokane. My friend strongly recommended this spot to me after being a regular here for 4 years and they did not disappoint. It's a charming little family owned restaurant, husband and wife duo. Their daughters used to work here too, but have left to start their own lives, so with just the two of them around now service can be a little slower. One of my other friends came here the other day on my recommendation and it was a 2 hour wait to dine in. I guess you know a place is pumping out fresh food and popping when people are willing to wait that long to eat, so that's a positive sign. She loved the food... but who wants to wait around that long? Take out is probably the move if you want to skip the line when it's busy. Speaking of take out, that's exactly what I did when I called in 20min before close! The wife picked up the phone and was more than happy to take my order. I ordered the bibimbap and kimchi kimbap. Bibimbap: meat was well seasoned, sweet, savory, juicy, and generously portioned (could've been a liiiiitle more tender tbh, but it was by no means chewy). The aroma of sesame oil was lovingly abundant. The hot sauce they packaged that I drizzled over everything was incredible! It had a mildly sweet but 2.5-3/5 spicy tang to it. The egg was ok, I prefer a runny yolk when I split open an egg, but when I split this one open it was probably overcooked 30 seconds or so past that point of perfection as the outer yolk was solid, but a very small piece of the inner core remained runny. The purple rice was yummy and cooked well, more flavorful, nutty, and nutritious than standard white rice. The pickled veggies were amazing too, they had that crunch to them indicating freshness. I thought it was cute how they don't let anything go to waste here because they threw the crisp pickled peels of the banchan cucumbers into the bibimbap, which paired really well with the crunchy pickled carrots and radish. Kimchi kimbap: these were great too, basically a California roll as described on their menu. They use seaweed and their purple rice to encase veggies and egg. The kimchi aspect was a little lacking, but the overall flavor and texture profile of the kimbap was amazeballs. Proportion of rice to other fillings was perfect here, I hate it whenever it's just a thick mouthful of rice at other places. Banchan: we got take out, so no unlimited side dishes, but if we did dine it.... I probably would've devoured an entire cucumber... if not 2-3. Their cucumbers were sooooo good, but all their other sides were great too. I'll be back to Kim's for sure! read more

When we walked in, the owner saw that we had five young (well behaved) kids, and told us that we would need to order take out because she couldn't seat us. Our party was seven in total.
