My friends and I rented yukata from here to go to the botanical gardens and take photos with the Sakura blossoms! It was so much fun. Everyone working at the shop are so friendly and want to make sure you love your outfit. They also sell kimono and yukata if you want to buy one as well as any accessories you need. You can also rent a full kimono. If you have a special occasion or just want to go out and try something new I recommend the experience!

Very happy with my purchase! Have been on the hunt for a new kimono to replace my current fading one. My husband found Kimono House on our recent trip to NYC. The owner was so helpful and friendly! She listened to my wish list and recommended a couple of options _ so hard to decide! I was also given a beautiful fan as a thank you gift which is a very Japanese thing to do. I highly recommend Kimono House :)

The best kimono in Manhattan And the owner yumiko is just the best human being in the world and the mom I wish I would haveありがとう^_^

So following our last visit we had made numerous stops to pick up our Yukatas that some of us had preordered and imported from Japan. Upon picking them up, one of our friends had saw a new one that Yumiko had in stock and was very patient and open for her to choose this one instead of the previous one she chose. After that visit, another one of us had visited Kimono House to buy another Yukata just in time for Sakura Matsuri along with an array of accessories. With every visit, we appreciated the owner Yumiko had remembered who we were. It showed she really did care. Following Sakura Matsuri, our Yukatas were a giant hit and we were able to get culturally in touch with the annual Cherry Blossom festival and have a feel of what it's like to celebrate festivals in Japan. Remembering what Yumiko taught us, we were able to secure our Obis' and yukatas. Everyone kept complimenting our yukata's and asking where we got them from along with a lot of photos. For an authentic and genuine experience, I will definitely be back to Kimono House.

This place is absolutely wonderful. I've been looking for a place that's sells AUTHENTIC Yukata kimonos in NYC. Luckily this place offers me everything I need! I'm glad that I spent great time there and finally picked the perfect Yukata for myself. Can't wait to wear my yukata to Sakura Matsuri!!! Happy with my purchase!!!

I was taught how to properly wear my kimono and how to tie my obi

I came here with my own kimono needing accessories to wear the ensemble to the Brooklyn Botanic Garden Sakura Matsuri. The best thing about this kimono store is the fact that they give you free lessons. I was so eagerly greeted and I purchased a complete juban, obi, geta, and ties. They spent two hours with me to select things to match with my kimono and to teach me how to wear it. I felt like a shining star in my vintage kimono (worn perfectly) at the Sakura Matsuri. I'd definitely come back here for my future kimono related purchases.

They have numeral kinds of kimono. You can easily got what you want.

Wonderful service and attention to details. Small location however, the choices and the service more than make up for the tight space.

I still remember Pearl River in the early 2000s. Two full floors and the go to spot for anything and everything Chinese: snacks, dry goods, stationery, art supplies, home goods. Walking in felt like stepping into a small piece of China right in NYC. It felt layered, authentic, and full of discovery. Fast forward a few years and Pearl River moved to Broadway in SoHo. It was still two floors, more spacious, and if I remember correctly, it had an entrance on Broadway and another toward the back (I can't recall the exact cross street). Even through its moves, it retained that sense of depth and cultural immersion. I recently stopped by the current SoHo location. It's now just one floor. The layout is open and well organized, but noticeably smaller in scope. They carry a mix of items: a small selection of blind boxes, modernized gift items, Chinese art and figurines, cupware and fine plateware, a modest kitchenware section toward the back, a small apparel and footwear area, and a reduced stationery section. A small book section with more small figurines. They also carry a small but thoughtful selection of loose leaf teas, snacks, and pantry staples. It's still cute. The prices are reasonable. There are definitely thoughtful and modern touches. But if I'm being honest, it feels different. More condensed. More curated. Slightly Americanized. And maybe that's just nostalgia talking. I experienced what Pearl River once was, and that version was special. It's not bad. It's just not the Pearl River I remember.

First Time purchasing a pair of AG jeans and it will be the last. Just because you spend $165 on a…read morepair of jeans doesn't necessarily mean they are going to be good. After wearing and washing them a few times I noticed they started to lose their shape with the Front & Back pockets, the front became so deformed that the white liner in the pocket started showing like they weren't holding their shape. The flap denim strip where the zipper is started folding back exposing the zipper. I decided to look at what was in the fabric and I noticed something I never saw in jeans before, "Lyocel" 26%, the other 72% was Cotton. I never had a pair of jeans with the fabric "Lyocell" in it and wondered maybe that was the reason this pair of jeans lost its shape after a few months of wearing them, most jeans besides having cotton, are Polyester, Elastane, or Viscose, never have I seen "Lyocell". I contacted AG Customer Service with my complaint and just asked for an exchange of any pair of AG jeans without the Lyocell fabric and they denied my request since I did not have the original receipt. They said to contact the store, when I said the store selling your jeans had nothing to do with deciding to use this lousy Lyocell fabric. Lyocell fabric is a semi-synthetic fiber made from wood pulp but isn't a natural fiber like cotton or hemp. Lyocell can also be a bit delicate. The fibers can be damaged by high heat and rough use. This means it's best not to iron lyocell using direct high heat and to minimize machine drying. I have purchased many styles of denim Jeans, Buffalo,Madewell, Rag&Bone, Diesel, I never had a problem like this before. My advice to you is do not buy a pair of AG Denim Jeans with the fabric "Lyocell" in it!!

Disclaimer that I did not make a purchase, so my review is based solely on my shopping experience…read more I was looking for an outfit to wear to a sangeet, and I booked a shopping appointment on their website. They texted me and Whatsapp messaged me to confirm the appointment, and after I arrived and told the sales associates about the timing of my event they recommended that I look at the off the rack collection. The dresses are super beautiful and well crafted, but there is only one of each - only one size of each - and it might not fit and may need to be tailored. It's also a little on the expensive side compared to what I found online and at Flying Solo. I tried on three options that were $1100, $1000, and $600. The sales associates were really sweet and helpful in helping me assemble the outfits the correct way and they were not pushy at all.

All my other bridal shopping from different stores went seamlessly. At Ave, they were nice initially but did not get my measurements right or communicate the changes to their tailor. Several issues were not written down or addressed and I had to fly back and forth to NYC multiple times in the months before my wedding. The left sleeve of my blouse was so tight that I needed lotion and help from staff to pull it off. This happened on two occasions. The proportions were so wrong. I had to ask the tailor to please measure my arms again so we can resolve this asap. I would have preferred to try it on again in person but I could not fit in another NY trip, so they shipped it to me. It took 1 week to arrive because they used the slowest shipping option. After all the alterations, much of the threadwork and beading of the blouse was damaged, and now I have to find a local garment specialist to repair it in the week before my wedding. I spent over $6,000 on a beautiful designer lengha for my wedding ceremony and was expecting perfection from a store that advertises it's "designer experience". At the minimum I would hope to have my concerns taken seriously. They sent me these earrings in response, which I will be returning. Save yourself the hassle and go to LA at Fashion by Rohini or buy from the designers in India directly.

I've always enjoyed checking out and purchasing Muji items. On Black Friday, Muji was giving away a Black Friday Survival Essentials Kit to the first 300 customers at their Fifth Avenue and SoHo stores. The Black Friday Survival Essentials Kit included an exclusive tote featuring the MUJI Market design and filled with a notebook, black 0.38 pen, yuzu candy, and a water bottle. Would recommend it if you need household items that are simple and affordable.

This is one of the most organized stores ever with all the accessories lined up and stored in an orderly fashion. There are rarely any loose accessories or misplaced product in the store. Made the shopping vibe feel a lot better. It is also very clean and carpet is nice to walk on without any dirt or loose garbage. By the checkout, there are aisles of mini and travel size lotions and facial cleansers from Kiehl's and Clinique that are almost winding down so they are that popular!
