Last week I checked it out to see if it was on sale and to my delight it was. Bergdorf's had deeply discounted it, and I was able to use the new customer discount on top of that to get an extra 15% off. The final price was about 60% off retail. The bag arrived six days later, boxed nicely in a Loewe dust bag. I couldn't be happier with my purchase.

I love going in with my Uniqlo pants and All-birds, wondering if they are going to "Pretty Woman"…read moreme, but they don't. Maybe they think I am rich I am so dressed down. The store is a little too ultra-high-end luxury for me, but it is a legendary New York institution and a unique pinnacle of high-end shopping, so I don't mind following my happy wife around. This review is mainly, though, for the fragrances. There was a fragrance specialist named El-Aton Georges, who was eager to use his knowledge to help us, since I am so picky. He made it fun. It was like, "Okay, you may detect notes of this and that" even though I would be detecting opening notes of "a grandma apple putting her sandalwood cigarettes out into a bar of Irish Spring" or "a leather lemon changing motor oil while eating linen popcorn in a savannah rain, with end notes of Lil' Debbie Cosmic Brownie" So, look for El-Aton, and tell him I sent you. He is quite the Con-nose-seur and he welcomes you all.

Sadly all the stores that were there many years ago have closed and just a couple. This one was interesting with so many clothes and misc items stacked inside. Friendly owner and my wife bought some clothes. However beware there are 2 taxes even under $100, the NYC and another tax on top that made the purchase high. The next day visited Jackson Heights and paid the exact price.

Where have you been all our lives…read more All this time in our city and only in the last year or so have we found this place - probably just as well that we have not as our bank account would have been severely tasered for a lot longer as we invariably leave holding a purchase. This is a supremely well curated store that carries Comme des Garcons, Dries, Anne Demeulemeester, and Junya among others. Their website does not do the selection in the store any justice - probably at least 60-70% larger - and you are better off visiting in person and placing yourself in the capable hands of the staff who will make sure you walk out significantly less Brooks Brothers/Jcrew-dorky than when you walked in. They will probably take umbrage with this, but we feel like the selection for the ladies has been more interesting - all the better, as the significant other should always be seen wearing beautiful things.

Disclaimer that I did not make a purchase, so my review is based solely on my shopping experience…read more I was looking for an outfit to wear to a sangeet, and I booked a shopping appointment on their website. They texted me and Whatsapp messaged me to confirm the appointment, and after I arrived and told the sales associates about the timing of my event they recommended that I look at the off the rack collection. The dresses are super beautiful and well crafted, but there is only one of each - only one size of each - and it might not fit and may need to be tailored. It's also a little on the expensive side compared to what I found online and at Flying Solo. I tried on three options that were $1100, $1000, and $600. The sales associates were really sweet and helpful in helping me assemble the outfits the correct way and they were not pushy at all.

Do not trust this store with your bridal needs. I never write reviews, but I had such high hopes…read morefor this store and was left so disappointed with my experience. All my other bridal shopping from different stores went seamlessly. At Ave, they were nice initially but did not get my measurements right or communicate the changes to their tailor. Several issues were not written down or addressed and I had to fly back and forth to NYC multiple times in the months before my wedding. The left sleeve of my blouse was so tight that I needed lotion and help from staff to pull it off. This happened on two occasions. The proportions were so wrong. I had to ask the tailor to please measure my arms again so we can resolve this asap. I would have preferred to try it on again in person but I could not fit in another NY trip, so they shipped it to me. It took 1 week to arrive because they used the slowest shipping option. After all the alterations, much of the threadwork and beading of the blouse was damaged, and now I have to find a local garment specialist to repair it in the week before my wedding. I spent over $6,000 on a beautiful designer lengha for my wedding ceremony and was expecting perfection from a store that advertises it's "designer experience". At the minimum I would hope to have my concerns taken seriously. They sent me these earrings in response, which I will be returning. Save yourself the hassle and go to LA at Fashion by Rohini or buy from the designers in India directly.

I found out that Schott has a retail store in New York City, so I took him there this time even they have an online website, but we weren't sure what size will fit him. Nowadays, people mostly shopping online even you can return or exchange the good, but it will take time and sometime the new size you get still not the fit on your body. So in my opinion, a retail store still necessary. You can see and feel the real product especially if that product is expensive before you make a purchase. My husband did try on the coat and found the size that fit him. We made a purchase and he had been wearing his new coat every day since.
