The store has sculptures clothing, scarves, and earring, etc. The staff is warm and welcoming and can help you navigate the clothing options, statues, and how to use the singing bowls, chimes, or bells. Travel here and you will bring back a piece of Tibet without leaving NYC. The earrings are what brought me in but I ended up with a lot more that will become memorable pieces for my home. Somehow we'd never noticed this (small) store before, until walking by there two days ago. It looked very inviting from the outside and we enjoyed perusing everything. There are many lovely items from Tibet, such as colorful shawls. There's also lots of pretty jewelry. The prices of the former (in particular) are high, unsurprisingly. We spoke to the owner briefly and he was pleasant. read more

This dude is the real deal. He vibrates kindness, and by the time you leave, you will too. Today I tried on a bunch of skirts, and they were all very special. Delicious cotton and also luxurious silks. I left with a great 100% Indian cotton skirt for $35. You know the ones on etsy for big bucks. He also sells hefty bundles of Paolo Santo wood for $9. On my way out he gave me a free singing bowl sound bath on my face. It was so sweet and it made me feel pampered. This is the kind of business we need to support. His store is immaculate. He has cleaning products lined up near the fitting room. You can tell he takes pride in his things. Get in there. read more

The staff was so nice when I stopped in. Maybe because I tend to be overly nice... Anyways, prices were high, but not outlandish. No doubt the stuff is quality, but I've seen identical items to many of the things (really, identical) at Pangaea in Nashville for a third of the price. But what the heck, it's fairly hard stuff to find... and of course, it's New York... overall, I had a nice experience and this place is a nice break from the rows of identical trendy boutiques. I stopped by Do Kham today because I saw a photo of the store window on Yelp and thought the clothing looked really colorful and beautiful. I was not disappointed. Many items are a bit pricey (a real Tibetan hat with fur will run you around three hundred clams), but there were also very affordable items (gorgeous silk scarves for about $35 and unique jewelry for not a whole lot more). I will come back here to do some real shopping in the Spring when I can show off those pretty jewel toned silk tunics they sell. They have excellent one of a kind gifts that won't break the bank but the recipient will love. The staff wasn't unfriendly at all, just not all over you when you walk in the door. Bottom Line: Do Kham is one of those really great little stores that make me happy to live in a city where you can find anything. But you might want to stop at the ATM before you get there - lol. read more

Very nice items. Alright price, a bit on the pricer side but it's still quite reasonable. Pretty good quality and several of different items to choose from. A small shop but nice interior. Not the best atmosphere "chi", though I'm not sure why. When my friend and I walked in and while looking around the cashier didn't say anything or greet us just kind of stare into space. While we were walking around looking at the scarfs and little statues a older male which we guessed is the owner of the shop walked out, didn't make any eye contact and slightly shoved in front of us before saying "excuse me" and reached his arm across us to put his water bottle on the floor in front of us which in my opinion, was rude and really unnecessary. Love the long-sleeved cotton shirts. They're the most awesome, unfussy things to wear in summer. They are also perfect if you're traveling to Southeast Asia, because they won't offend the locals by exposing your shoulders AND because the looseness will keep you cool. The long silk tunics are good beach cover-ups. Everything comes in great colors, so take some time to try things on and find out what makes your skin color really shine! Service... is... questionable and slightly unfriendly, but you'll forget the unpleasantness quickly. Don't feel pressured not to try things on or think about your purchase for as long as you'd like. The staff may not seem to appreciate it, but chalk it up to a cultural thing (maybe it is, maybe it isn't) and SHOP ON! read more

Do Kham is a treasure - I found it in 1999 when I purchased a cashmere pashmina shawl. This was when pashminas were first hitting the US and many were not the real deal - but the one from Do Kham was. It was long-lasting, luxurious, really warm and beautiful (always got compliments). I wore it for almost 18 years! With good care these are so well made that they can be worn for a long time. I went in today and purchased a new one, just as beautiful and interesting enough, about $20 more than the one I paid 18 years ago, so very good value. Worth every penny. read more

One of my absolute favorite places to visit in the city. The merchandise is the real deal and of good quality. The staff is friendly and willing to help you. I stopped a few weeks ago to get mala beads in hope to start meditating and I ended up with calming rosewood ones, a pouch to put them away, two mantras that the owner, Phelgye, was kind enough to give and explain to me, a blessed bracelet by the Dalai Lama and a peace that I needed then. He will answer any and all of your questions about the merchandise and will chat with you if you take the time to speak to him. I highly encourage you to go in, look at the clothes, jewelry and other wares and talk to him; you'll be surprised at how enriching an experience it will be. The owner is always polite when I stop in and very quietly brings out requested sizes and colors. I shop many Tibetan and Indian boutiques/ clothings for my personal collections. I am very fond of Tibetan cultures, but this is the ONLY one shop I dislike and not likely to go back. My husband bought me a silk shirt for my birthday and it was too small, so I went back to exchange another size. There is something about women clothing that you have to try it on to see how it fits you. The exchange was granted. I wanted to try something else or see if I might get some other stuffs but I didn't think she was very willing to serve. All samples was mostly small sizes and when I asked her if there's any medium, she told me she has no medium size around. And most stuffs there specially those Indian are way over-priced. read more
