This restaurant has the nostalgia of a childhood spent bonding with family. Friendly staff with a warm environment that promotes conversation and a feeling of acceptance. Everyone is welcomed and treated like family. There is a strong sense of patriotism with the decor which is appreciated especially in the times we are in. And the food. Excellent homey restaurant with great food and a lot of character. Full menu is available all day (which means until 2:00 when they close). They really honor veterans; decor in the main room consists of pictures of local veterans throughout the years, service flags, and other military memorabilia. Prices are affordable and service is friendly and attentive. My hot turkey sandwich was terrific, with all ingredients clearly homemade. I can't remember when (or if) I've had better mashed potatoes. Turkey and gravy were good too. My companion enjoyed his large burger, and his fries were top notch. This isn't a "visit if you're in the area" place; it's worth going out of your way. read more

Eaten here twice when visiting my family in July 2012. Good food, service and a surprise for the area. They decorated their restaurant with frames pictures of local veterans. If you want a home cooked meal on the cheap, this is the place to go. Staff is very friendly and accommodating, even to my 5 year old's oddities when it comes to food and conversation. You should never leave here hungry, I highly recommend the sausage gravy over biscuits, the pancakes, and the bacon, they make it good and crispy not floppy or rubbery. This is our go to for breakfast frequently.
