We didn't have a reservation but they were able to seat us after a few minutes. The hostess mentioned that service would be faster if we chose the buffet since we told her we were going to the concert. We arrived at 5:30 and the concert was at 7:00 so we thought we had plenty of time. We ordered cocktails and our food at the same time. I opted for the buffet, which I could access immediately, and my friend chose a Caesar salad and a cup of soup. We waited about 20 minutes for the drinks to come and thought maybe they'd bring her food at the same time. But that didn't arrive until 6:20. For a cup of soup that they scooped out of a pot and a simple salad. Unfortunately the salad was inedible when it came because the romaine was limp and drenched in dressing. To their credit, when my friend pointed out that she couldn't eat it, the server immediately offered to take it off the check. We eventually got out of the restaurant at 6:45 with enough time for our 5 minute walk to the venue. The buffet was okay, nothing stellar. I knew going in that buffets aren't going to be as good as off the menu items, but I took a look at it before I ordered and thought it would be ok. It was only $17, so it was not a expensive gamble. Nice salad greens tossed with Cucumber, tomato and red onions plus some pickled red cabbage as a topper. Hot foods were mashed potatoes and gravy, fried chicken , Swedish Meatballs, and mixed sautéed vegetables. It was all good tasting and I was satisfied with it, just not wowed. My friend thought the soup was more French Onion than French mushroom. But she liked the ooey gooey cheese on top. Our cocktails were from the seasonal menu and were probably the best part of our meals. I had a Harvest Star and she had a Pilgrims Punch. Mine was bourbon based and hers, tequila. And for $7.00 very well priced. Because of the lag in service and the poor quality of the Caesar salad, I am rating this a 3 star experience. The restaurant itself was clean and comfortable. The decor was typical hotel restaurant, low lighting and spacious seating areas.

In all the time that I have lived in and around Johnstown, I had never been able to make it here…read more On a recent trip back home I met my sister and her family for a dinner. I'm glad I finally did to check this place of my to try list. From the outside, it looks like a typical hole-in-the-wall bar in the Johnstown area. I had no idea where parking was because every time I drove past here I would be doing it at a pace I couldn't see. I was happy to see that there was ample parking behind the street facing building. Entry from the parking lot takes you up stairs or a zig-zagging ramp that looks fairly new. This area is also connected to an outdoor seating area, can't really call it a patio. Or, you can enter from outside and take the stairs up into dining room. This is a seat yourself establishment. Once you are seated, you are greeted and given menus. What an extensive menu it is. The amount of items on the menu, if you haven't been here before, can be daunting. It took me a few minutes to just give it a once over. When the server came back around to take our drink order she asked if we needed a few more minutes, yes, we did. When she returned I was ready to go. I ordered the Pickle Chips as my appetizer and the Howler as my main. The Pickle Chips were served with a side of ranch for dipping and they were amazing. Perfectly coated, not too much and not too little. Dipping in the ranch cooled them down just enough to be enjoyable. Now, the Howler, is kind of an experience. The Howler is one of their signature burgers. Half-pound patty cooked to your liking. The set toppings on this burger is bacon, choice of cheese (American Cheddar, Swiss, Provolone, or Pepper Jack), meat sauce, and a fried egg. You also can choose to add lettuce tomato onion and pickle. For mine, I went American for the cheese, lettuce, onion and pickle. There really wasn't any need for condiments as there was already so much on the burger to give it flavor. It almost comes off as either a breakfast burger or a chili cheese burger. Although I did as for medium, they overcooked it a bit. What was a nice addition here was the side. You can go with the traditional fries or go for one of many that don't seem to have an upcharge to it. Tater tots, slaw, applesauce, or nachos and one item for an upcharge, onion rings. I went with tater tots. Overall, this was an enjoyable meal. Our service was impeccable. Atmosphere was lively.

The entire diner is decorated with motorcycle racing decor... different, but i guess that makes it unique. I would love this place more if it leaned into the classic diner motif. All the decor just looks like someone had a collection of motorcycle racing decor and needed a place to put all of it. Prices are extremely reasonable. I had 2 eggs, a sausage patty, and 2 pieces of wheat toast for $6.50! Great deal if you ask me. Service was good. Speedy service. No complaints. My biggest issue is just the lack of menu options. It's a rather small menu. Breakfast menu is mainly just combinations of eggs and meat, with a few options having pancakes and waffles. However, a simple menu doesn't mean it's not good!

Had a very weird flavor and the bun was still frozen so when I told the waitress who, by the way had no personality whatsoever that I didn't like it, she looked very confused. She did however take it back. Asked me if I would like to keep the fries. Meanwhile, I took the plate brought me back my substitution sandwich 10 minutes later with the ice cold fries that she had served with the burger as for the ambience, they were like four booths in the front of the store with the counter. The whole back of the store looks like it was once an actual store now it's just empty shelves very weird vibe will not be back.
