A refreshing lunch on a humid day. I got the Kreate Your Own Bowl. It was a unique fusion of Korean ingredients and Japanese flavors that worked quite well. Fish and ingredient quality were both solid. Will have to return to try some of the street food!
Kimchipapi, consider me your kimchison(too much?) I must be a part of this family and all they have going on here. I mean, I've heard of rhdjdjd before, but my dislike for American corndog from a young age has kept me completely oblivious to an other version. Just a very select few times in my life, I have eaten something so good, it's made me question everything around me. Korean corndog?!? How could I have lived this long and overlook something so good? It is nothing like the corndogs we are used to in America. The panko is everything. The crunchy texture paired with the oooooeeeyyy gooooeyy cheese makes this what I can only describe as a eutrophic experience. Yes the corndog is phenomenal, but the crispy chicken sliders alone would have been worth the trip. The crunchy, light and airy breading is perfection. Paired with house made pickles, spicy mayo and a pillowy soft bun, and a honey teriyaki pineapple glaze crispy chicken. I did not come here for any sort of chicken item, but unexpectedly, this is easily a top 3 chicken sandwich/slider I've ever had. This little restaurant is dangerous. The menu is simply irresistible. Kimchi papi may be small in footprint, but it packs a huge punch to the tastebuds.
Delicious, fun spot to go to with friends or family. The customizable Korean corn dogs are simply superb, and they have same really fun combinations like Hot Cheetos. We also tried the Kimchipapi Fries, which had a great blend of toppings. There's some searing inside, though not a lot, but it wasn't crowded when we came. Would definitely recommend going if you get the chance.
Kimchipapi Kitchen may have the best Korean corn dogs in the city of Boston, but by no means do they have the best corn dogs. I recently ordered a corn dog with half hot dog & half mozzarella, and it was just all right. Definitely need the extra condiments, ketchup and mustard for me. Their poke bowls are not bad either, just on the smaller size in regard to portions. Wish they were a hit more generous with the toppings and protein. Corn dogs and food is about a 10-15 min wait after ordering. Parking can be found pretty easily, especially during the day on a weekday. Lots of 2 hr meter parking spots available right outside.
Came here while visiting Boston and was pretty disappointed despite the positive reviews. I got the spam musubi bowl. Bowl was pricey for the quantity and the taste was aight, a little bit too salty. It would have been better if the corn was in smaller pieces instead of chunks since it's harder to mix. We also got the croc jibbit for fun.

Best Korean corn dogs in the city. It's easy to get to on the T and they are on delivery now too. If I'm craving Korean corn dogs- I know where I'm going.
The cheesy corndogs are really good. I ordered the Cheetos korndog with only cheese. I recommend getting only cheese. The hotdog portion is whatever to me. Service is straightforward, the workers are like NPCs everytime I went, lol! You interact with them lightly, as there is a machine to order. The ambiance is casual and simple, could be better honestly. $5.99 per corn dog! I'd come back for sure!! I wish we are able to dine-in during the last 30 minutes before closing, but it's cool. I would give 3.75 if I could.
Ever since Kimchipapi opened, we always love returning for takeout especially since it's in such a great location! After trying an array of Korean corn dogs in Boston, I've got to say that Kimchipapi has my heart. I love the light coating of sugar on top of the corn dogs that is both flavorful and also a pretty thick corn dog at the same time so you know you're getting your money's worth! One thing I always look forward to is the cheese pull and these corn dogs always hit the spot for me! Especially with the ketchup and mustard they give on the side that really tops it off. In terms of other items on their menu, we also got the KFC bowl and the truffle fries that were pretty solid. Unfortunately, it is a small shop basically meant for just takeout and so some items on the menu are a bit pricey and service is a bit slow at times but the food makes up for it sometimes! SO GOOD. I've ordered take out a couple of times from here and I have not been disappointed. The corn dogs are as you expect -- crispy on the outside and cheesy on the inside (and they somehow stay warm through a 40 minute commute). Bowls are also wonderful bc you can customize them to your taste palette. I'd definitely recommend the kfc bowl bc they load the bowl with delicious fried chicken. On top of that, you also get to add toppings of your choice to round out the meal.
I got the corndog with half hot dog and half mozzarella, the cheese pull was definitely mukbang worthy. So definitely worth it. The honey teriyaki sliders were okay, I wasn't really a fan of the flavor. And the spicy pickled cucumbers weren't really crispy and fresh so I wasn't liking the overall combo. I think the corndogs are worth, not necessarily the sliders.
This place is a good place to grab food togo. It is not a big place for a big group. The food came out quickly and the corndog was really good. I just wished it was little bit hotter because the cheese was not melted all the way. I also wished there were more types of sauce but it was still good with just ketchup and mustard. Overall it's a great place to visit if you are in Allston area and a good place to grab something quick.
FOOD: We got a few things. Okonomi Hotdog, Honey Teriyaki sliders, KFC Fries and build your own poké bowl. The BEST thing we got was the poké bowl. It was delicious and fresh and light and delicious! Now for this next part, keep in mind that I'm fully aware that fried food is greasy, and I've been eating Korean food (including Korean Fried Chicken) for years...in Koreatown NYC and LA. The KFC Fries were oily. The fries were good, but the chicken itself held a LOT of oil and the breading was super thick. It would've also been better if the sauces on top were layered into the fries. The chicken was super saucy, but the fries were bone dry. I ended up flipping all the chicken over so the sauce would touch the fries. The chicken chunks were also MASSIVE. Whole thing would've been top tier if it weren't for the extra grease. My sister said the hotdog was ok. It tasted like a hotdog lol. The sliders have the same oily chicken, so only one was eaten. The cucumbers that come one top of the sliders are DELICIOUS though. I'll eat those by the bucket. They're NOT pickles. Now the poké. I built the bowl with sushi rice, corn, kimchi, seaweed salad, spicy cucumbers, crispy onions, dried seaweed, spicy salmon, spicy mayo and eel sauce. BOMB. It was so good. We killed that bowl. I would 100% go back just for that bowl with all the toppings. Drinks are limited. Coke and Orange Fanta in glass bottles, Ginger ale, Coke and 2 diff seltzers in cans. SERVICE: Fast as hell! They're SO fast! I ordered drinks separately and the woman behind the counter opened them and handed them to me before I reached my seat. They come and clean the tables right away when you leave, but you don't feel rushed or anything. There's a menu machine where you order and pay if you're paying with card on the left, and a register if you're paying with cash on the right. We waited for food less than 15 mins from confirming the order. Everything comes with a plastic fork, spoon and knife and all the food comes on one tray if you're dining in. They're also SLINGING DoorDash or fantuan orders for pick up. They're FAST. I witnessed it. AMBIANCE: It's def a post bar/post concert spot. Like you've been drinking and vibing and need something greasy to soak up the alcohol in your stomach. It's small inside, the tables are tight and there aren't many of them, but there IS space to sit if it's just 2-3 of you. There's also a bathroom for customers. PARKING: Street parking. That's it . You pay from 8 am to 6 pm on some blocks and on others, there's a 2 hour limit within that time frame. You WILLLL circle the block a few times.
Order ahead as some items may take up to 40 minutes to prepare! The portions are huge and very satisfying. Every item I had ordered was delicious and exceeded my expectations with almost overwhelmingly mouthfuls of flavor. My only gripes are that the Korean street corndog is too sweet and the loaded fries were a bit soggy, but that's just me nitpicking. I will definitely come here often. read more

We ventured over to Allston to try Kimchipapi Kitchen's Korean Fried Chicken and Korean Corn Dog, we did get some fried Oreos and ramen while we were at it. We loved the sweetness of the batter in the corndogs, we got half beef/half cheese, but we were disappointed at our cheese pull. We waiting in a spot outside the door of the restaurant for our order to be ready and consumed the corndogs in the car. Oh well! Maybe next time. The batter on the fried chicken was just the right thickness that allowed for crunch and lots of chicken flavour in each bite. Fried Oreos were just what we would expect at a fairground. We have to try the ramen again to properly report on it. All in all, this was a good experience. Definitely a hit with younger consumers. They are not doing in person orders but the online orders are up pretty quickly. The packaging is sustainable and pretty. We loved the sticker that was included. It would definitely make for interesting conversation. read more

I tried this place early September and was in LOVE. The corn dogs were crispy and had that desired cheese pull. We also got a truffle fry which was thick cut, perfectly seasoned and EXTRA crispy (so delicious!!). However, upon returning recently, the fries were completely different. Soggy, skinny and with too much truffle oil. It was only two weeks since I had made my first visit and I was so disappointed! I'm not sure if they were out of the regular fries or if this is the new norm, but if it is I wouldn't order their fries again. One tip I have would be to eat the corn dogs right away if you order cheese, otherwise the cheese will not be very gooey as it's no longer as warm and fresh as when they first come out. They are still delicious either way though! Although they are only doing takeout, I have never waited long. I would recommend for the corn dogs! read more
I am throughly disappointed at the build your own poke bowel option here at Kimchipapi. Throughly is an understatement. I am actually furious. I had previously come here and had one of their speciality bowls, which I had enjoyed. So I figured their build your own would be the same. I ordered the greens with 5 of the topping choices, in addition to Salmon (+2) and tune (+2). I open the bowel and what I see is spinach with only salmon, and sparse toppings. I have never been so disappointed at food before, especially since I paid an additional $4 for the salmon and tuna. I immediately called to review this order. They refunded the price but I'm 100% not confident that I would make my way back here again. I am furious that a place with 4-5 star reviews can deliver what an 8 year old can put together. read more

I've been craving this place for so so long without even trying it, and it was so worth the wait!!! I want to try this whole menu out because everything looks so so good but I had to try the Korean Street Corndog and the Potato Corndog with Beef. I got the Korean Street Corndog with just mozzarella because they only offered the Potato Corndog with beef and I'm so glad I did. The mozzarella pull on the Corndog is AMAZING and the combination of cheese and sugar just works. The Potato Corndog was also phenomenal- it tasted like a really good Corndog but better because it has sugar and the nice crunch from the fry-like texture. Also there is something so unique about the batter. I could eat these every day. If you had to try one thing at this place, I'd recommend getting the Korean Street Dog with 1/2 beef & 1/2 mozzarella to get a nice experience of both. But if you can get two why not double the experience throughout?!! Definitely looking forward to coming back to try their Kfc Bowl (been eyeing this dish in particular) and other offerings with some corndogs on the side ;) read more

Kimchipapi is great when you have Korean food kravings or want to try something kool. Let's start with the aesthetics, they have a neon light up sign that says Send Noodz, so I already knew I would be in for a treat. The setting is intimate with great music playing and some cooking shows playing on the TV above the drink cooler. I think we watched tv for like 20 minutes after eating because the clips were so entertaining. The food is phenomenal. Everything is cut fresh every day and you can taste that. Boyfriend had the Kinchimama bowl which he still hasn't stopped talking about. He's a big poke fan and overall a kimchi fan and he said the flavors were amazing. I went for the fried stuff and their corn dogs are just WOW. Cheese inside, battered in fries, they have the perfect treat. This is exactly what you would expect for Korean street food except it's in Allston. The ma doo are also perfectly fried and their filling is addictive. Better than any traditional dumpling I've ever had. For dessert they now have fried Oreos. My oh my are those addicting. Dusted with powdered sugar and fried perfectly. I could eat 1000 of these but they come 3 to an order. Perfect for ending your meal and satisfying that sweet tooth. Overall I have no complaints and only compliments. I will definitely be back soon to try their fried chicken and order some fried Oreos. read more

I have loved everything I have tried here. The corn dogs were top notch. The crunch and batter they use are the real differentiators for me. Ordered the Poke Bowl twice, it's just darn good and perfect if you want something on the lighter side. Exactly what I want when I am trying to eat a little more healthy. The real gem are their KFC Honey Teriyaki Sliders. It comes on a Hawaiian bread, which is a little softer and sweet. This is easily one of the top 3 fried chicken sandwiches in greater Boston, if not the best. Their to go packaging is also top quality, better than many other places I have seen. Had the fried chicken bowl(~$15). The fried chicken wasn't breaded the way I expected. Used to Korean fried chicken with a thicker super crispy shell that's drenched in sauce. This chicken was very crispy but more like a thin tempura. I prefer the hard shell but know not everyone likes that. The chicken was still super crispy. I had it with the sriracha bbq sauce which was a great mix. Wish there had a been a little more sauce or some on the side for the rice in the bottom of the bowl. The rice was good. It was sushi rice with a light sushi vinegar seasoning. A bit mushy for my preference but a very minor nitpick. Had it with kimchi, pickled ginger, and pickled cucumber. The pickled cucumber was my favorite but the other two were also great. It was a huge bowl and easily could have been a meal and a half or two meals but I had just finished a run and had a big appetite. Definitely want to come back and try some of the other items on the menu. The menu seems well focused which is a good sign to me. Only online ordering or through a kiosk. The kiosk didn't have any item descriptions but that is probably so people don't spend too long looking at each description. Still would have been nice to have a menu in the store for new customers. Store itself was clean and had a shallow counter with ~5 seats in front of the window. Very pleasant eating inside. read more

Was really excited to try this! Overall I think the corndogs are worth the try. I thought it was okay, would be much better if warm and fresh (try not to have it delivered). I ordered it through Uber eats so I could only afford two corndogs and some fries. Maybe I'll try the deokbokki and poke bowl next time. The truffle fries, however, was not worth it, really overpriced. read more

Have been here a few times and never been disappointed. They are only taking online orders at tht moment but the process is really easy through their site. My must have a each visit are the potato corn dog, Korean street food corn dog, and truffle fries. The Korean street corndog is my favorite with the half hot dog half mozzarella option. The corndog is always instant crispy and I get a crazy cheese pull every time. The sugar on the outside is a really great pair with the beef hotdog because it cuts the saltines. The potato corn dog is the same but it has french fries all over it. If you didn't think the Korean street one is crispy enough, then this one is for you. It always cuts the top of my mouth but it's worth it. Truffle fries are thin fries that have truffle oil and parmesan cheese all over it. I like the fries because it doesn't have an extremely overwhelming truffle taste like other places. Fries are always extra crispy and not oily feeling at all (for an oiled french fry). It tastes comparable to Yard House fries except they're not doused in oil and limp. read more
I'd be wanting to try out Kimchipapi Kitchen for a while and was super excited when I finally was able to stop by. It is in the heart of Allston and from the outside seemed like a pretty popular spot to grab takeout. For my dish I settled on the Kimchipapi bowl and while it was good it didn't really blow me away. It was just like any other poke bowl but it filled me up and satisfied the craving I had for poke. The gyoza are deep fried and on the fattening side but good for all that tried them. My friend ordered the bibimbap bowl and was very unsatisfied. I wouldn't come here for bibimbap - its americanized and not very good. I would stick to a classic poke dish and you will be alright. I would say come check it out for yourself but don't get your hopes up too high. read more

I got a few stuff to try this place out! The Korean corn dogs are AMAZING!!! They're SOOOO yummy and that cheeeese omg. Changed my life. Totally try. I also got the chicken bowls. Their teriyaki chicken is bomb!!! I loved the sauce on it and how it was cooked. So crispy and full of moisture. Like it was easy to bite into for how crispy it was. I liked it a lot. Butttt I wasn't a fan of the bowl itself. The rice was sticky which is understandable and enjoyable, but it was so sticky that everything just stuck together. You couldn't really eat anything in that bowl without making a mess pulling it alll out of the rice. Like the corn and the chicken, nothing would budge. But it was all yummy, only reason why I'm not giving it a 5. But everything was so yummy. I got the dumplings, a little too crispy for my taste, like they were kind of hard. The filling was bomb tho I got pork! And lastly we got the fried Oreos which were delicious and perfect. My first time trying them and I was hooked. Overall, highly recommend this restaurant!!! Right now they are taking orders only through online or calls which I think is great because it means the workers can focus on getting the food prepared! They give you a time the food will be ready for and only one order is done at a time meaning you won't be around a bunch of strangers while waiting for food. Korean Street Corndog: All the corn dogs are VERY crispy on the outside while still being super moist on the inside! They all had the photogenic cheese pull even 15 minutes after ordering. Side note all the corn dogs have sugar on the outside which I didn't expect but I loved once trying. The sugar helps cut away from the salty flavor from the beef hot dog. They also all come with a packet of ketchups and mustards so you can choose how much you want or if you want any at all! 1/2 cheese 1/2 beef: I love this version of the corndogs! It's a great way to get both the beef and cheese. You get the cheese pull at the beginning and get the finish off with the filling beef hot dog. beef corndog: I did like this one but I think it tastes better and is a better experience if you also have the cheese inside! mozzarella corndog: I really loved this one as well! I think it had a great cheese pull and was completely filled with cheese inside! No empty space that I have seen with ones I make myself. I guess it is better to leave it to the experts haha! Empanadas: These were very crispy on the outside and the meat inside was very moist. I did get both the beef and chicken but ended up liking the chicken one more. If you look at the picture you can see the beef casing is darker, I think it was slightly over cooked because the beef was a little dry. The chicken one was very juicy though and had some cheese inside. One thing I would change is the packaging. It isn't labeled anywhere so when ordering many items you can't tell which is which and that makes sharing pretty hard because for the corn dogs you have to get pretty far to find out which is which. Otherwise the food is great and I think they are taking precautions well. read more

They are only doing online orders and delivery but its like a 15 minute wait. The corn dogs were decent. We got the half beef and half cheese corn dog . Also got the potato corn dog. We also got the kimchipapi bowl . The poke bowl was really good. Definitely, worth a try. It's kind of pricey read more

Ordered takeout from here. Bibimap was decent. Also got the sriracha BBQ 8 piece which was incredibly disappointing. I've legitimately had better chicken at Buffalo Wild Wings. To call this Korean fried chicken is a joke. The breading tasted like cardboard. You can see from the photo how dry it was and the sauce barely even covers it. Will not be ordering from here again. read more

After eating here 3 times in the last 3 weeks I decided to finally write my review. I'd say the place really is a 4.5 star and was torn between 4 and 5 rating, but decided that since this is the best fried chicken I've had, I'm going to go with 5 stars. Definitely recommend and will continue to come back! Food: I've only had the KFC bowl after seeing someone else order it and as mentioned above, the fried chicken is INSANELY good. They have three sauces to choose from and I usually go with the sriracha BBQ and it's incredible. 2/3 times I've also added a fried egg on top. Overall it's a great portion for one person and you will definitely be full along with its three mix-ins and rice. The mix-ins are where my feelings are a bit mixed...and I'm still looking for my go-to 3rd mix-in. The kimchi and carrots I found fantastic (although a friend of mine wasn't keen on the carrots). The jalapenos were disappointing, the pickled ginger was too overpowering, and the spicy pickled cucumbers were just okay. I'll have to keep trying, maybe pickled radish next? One time I did order an order of fries and although they tasted pretty good, they weren't as crispy as I like them and not worth the 4 dollars in my opinion. Ambience/décor/service: I've only gotten take out from here so I can't speak too much on this. The name is fantastic, as is their logo. They even sell kimchipapi merch on their site lol. In terms of service, food is usually ready within 15 minutes for pick-up and I haven't had any mistakes yet. Overall value is great. The above bowl is 12 bucks (13 with the egg) and it's a filling meal for one person. At some point I want to try other stuff on the menu, like their bowls, but that fried chicken...mmm...I don't want to potentially disappoint myself with something else. They have a nice menu, food looks good and reasonable prices. The workers are diligent. Although they have some prep times on the menu, I didn't realize the corn dogs would take 10 mins until i read a small paper sign on the table. I can't tell if it's out of pocket that the sign says "please dont stare at the workers." I get how they feel but, as someone who worked in a similar environment, I feel like you should expect customers to watch you if you work at a restaurant or cafe. read more

A place for quick bite or snacks... right now they are only offering phone ot online order. I ordered the crab salad fries which is crispy fries topped with crab stick salad, spicy mayo, eel sauce, fish roes, scallion, and black sesame. Also, the potato corndog and korean street corndog. Potato corndog filled with a 100% all beef premium hot dog and coated with french fries and fried until golden. I usually eat it with topping since hot dog is salty enough for me. Korean corndog is deep fried in panko batter with half mozzarella and hot dog based on your choice. I preferred the korean corndog with light sugar on top instead ketchup and mustard. Next time, I want to try the corndog at Fiya Chicken. read more

Loved the food options, I got the kimchipapi bowl , KFC bowl , krab salad fries and corn dogs (one was hot cheetos and one was with potatos) they offer hot dog or cheese options inside. I love poke so I went with the kimchipapi bowl but the KFC bowl's great if you're more into other proteins ! Everything tasted great, portions were big as well. Joon the owner was super friendly and knowledgeable. He always checked in to see how everything tasted. Definitely a spot I recommend to anyone who's visiting the area! Must try! read more
I've been on the hunt for Korean corndogs, and I finally found the spot! I ordered a couple corndogs to go -- my favorite was the corndog with mozzarella for $5. They do not add the condiments on the corndog when ordering to go because it could make the corndog soggy. Decided to try this place out because of all the awesome reviews. I got the kimchipapi bowl, the sriracha bbq kfc platter, and the corndog with mozzarella. The kimchipapi bowl consists of every item I like to put in my poke bowl so it was as if it was calling out my name. The salmon and tuna in it were thickly cut and fresh. The other toppings tasted the same and were just like any other poke bowl I've had. The sriracha bbq flavored kfc platter was truly a huge disappointment because of how salty it was. The flavor was okay (definitely tasted like a sriracha bbq flavoring), but it was too salty to even enjoy. I was super excited for the corndog because I've had similar ones in Japan (I know these are Korean styled, but truthfully I'm not sure of the difference). The corndog was delicious. The gooey mozzarella topped with sugar was an amazing combination. The fried breading on the outside was a little thick, but still very enjoyable. I definitely won't order the chicken again, but I'd come back to try the other corndogs, bowls, and the crab salad fries. I like this place because I can get my french fry or ramen craving with a poke bowl as well (am I the only one who likes to eat a random combination of things?). Simple and delicious bowls, whether you're in the mood for bibimbap or poke! Usually I'm pretty wary of places that have multiple cuisines (read sushi + ramen, burgers + tacos, etc) because I doubt that they can master two very different things, but kimchipapi kitchen does a great job with their korean food and poke. I definitely recommend the Kimchipapi bowl - it's a poke bowl that includes salmon, tuna, avocado, seaweed, and crab, and a variety of great sauces. We also got the corn dog covered with fries - definitely recommend getting it with the fries because they add a good crunch and texture. Be ware that the space is fairly small and it might be difficult getting seating, but a good place to stop by for a meal! read more
Kimchipapi can be its own religion. The name alone was enough to get me in the door. The food had me back at the door... in a snowstorm. That is the power of Kimchipapi: it doesn't matter what barriers are in place. You will find yourself there. My recommendation is to go with the classic Kimchipapi Bowl.
