This includes a meat of your choice, rice, noodles, salad and what I assume is sausage and rice cake in a skewer (didn't try it, assumed it was pork. 3.5 stars rounded to 4. I have been to Kimchi Box multiple times, and their food is always very consistent. At this point I feel I know what my go-to dishes are always going to be! When going to a Korean restaurant, tacos may not be the first thing you pick off the menu but Kimchi Box does tacos very well. The spicy pork is in fact spicy, and has a lot of flavor. They are topped with dressed salad, and it adds another layer of flavor. The fish taco is always excellent as well, but they were sold out today. I would pass on the Bulgogi taco in the future, as there was not a lot of flavor coming through. All tacos have a generous amount of filling, and are served on two corn tortillas. My tacos mostly held their shape during the meal and did not fall apart. The Sassy Fries are always an excellent choice. The crispy fries are topped with mozzarella and spicy mayo, and the serving is definitely big enough to share. We did have a small order of wings, half soy garlic and half sassy sauce. The wings were extremely crunchy as expected, but there was very little meat on the bones compared to the amount of breading. In the future, I would choose the chicken sandwich with sassy sauce over the wings as there is more meat on the sandwich. We also ordered the Korean corn dogs, which comes 2 to an order. The filling is mozzarella, and the crispy outside is rolled in sugar. I would order again, but I wish there was an option to order a single corn dog instead of two. Finally, I ordered a side of rice for $2. This was a massive serving that can be shared between two people. The inside of the restaurant is pretty spacious. The menu is displayed on a screen when you walk in, and you order at the register and pay. Once your order is complete they give you a number to take to your table. Drinks are self-serve, and they offer water cups next to their drink dispenser which is always nice. A server will bring your food to your table. When leaving you are asked to bus your own table and return the dishes to the bin. Overall, I would definitely recommend Kimchi Box- especially for the spicy pork taco! This restaurant is easily accessed off of either grand River or Novi Road. They have a decent amount of parking very close by, and share a bigger lot with a lot of other stores. It's brightly lit, and kept most of the design from the original restaurant that used to be here which was Pei Wei. It looks like they just put a fresh coat of paint covered everything up that used to be reds and yellows to whites and grays. It's much brighter in cleaner looking now, but the decor isn't aesthetically pleasing. This location is far cleaner than their other one on 5 mile. They do have a weird plant display in the middle that looks like everyone wanted to dump their plant collection there to die. Not sure what is going in there, maybe they have something hidden underneath? The food was moderate in price. The bulgogi bimbimbap was good. Love the purple rice. The bulgogi tacos were ok. The kimchi fried were tasty. We would probably come back if friends want to try it. We spent $55 for our overall bill, for healthier fast food. read more

The team here is so friendly and welcoming and happy to advise you on which food options are best if you are in the mood for spicy, sweet or mild flavors. This is such a nice change from all the major chain restaurants in Novi and the food tasted great. Our family enjoyed the popcorn chicken and the bulgogi box and felt right at home here. I always get their Bibimbap ($11) with tofu added ($2). It's a bowl with a choice of base, where I choose rice, but there's salad mix or noodle option as well. Then it has red/white cabbage, bean sprouts, carrots, cucumber, lettuce, kale, radish, black beans, corn, a fried egg, and japchae noodles. Then you choose a sauce: yam yam, sassy Mayo, or gochujang. If you dine in, you can get a hot stone bowl to have your food stay hot throughout your meal for $1.50, ive always thought that's super cool, and the sauces are brought to the table in bottles to use as much as you want. I've tried all three, and they're all very good on their own and mixed together in different amounts. In the past, we got the potato dogs (2 for $8.50) and they're about what you'd expect. Crispy yet soft potato stuffed with melty cheese, and coated with sugar on the outside. I found the potato part was bland, so I was dipping into sauces. I wouldn't get them again but they weren't bad to try! The popcorn chicken portions are small, so if you're looking for shareable dishes, be prepared to pay a lot for a bigger portion. Chicken itself was good. The Korean sassy sauce was good, as well as soy garlic. The staff is kind, and the cooks do their job well. Food is quick to come out depending on what you order. If you dine in, they'll bring things out as they're completed, so you may be eating before the person with you, depending on what you ordered. The place is a cute little storefront with a "fast food" dine in experience, so you clean up after yourself, which I like. read more

The food truly deserves a 5-star rating but this neighborhood restaurant truly deserves zero stars for the way it treats repeat customers. This site won't late me rate anything less than one zero so congratulations, Kimchi Box. You get one star you definitely don't deserve. The reason for the horrible rating? My wife ordered a $78 meal for our family. Literally minutes after placing the order, she got an emergency call from a family member in need. Before packing the whole family into the car, she went to cancel the order since we couldn't be here to get it. Kimchi Box let us cancel the order... while keeping $61, which is the entire amount of the meal. The only thing we were refunded was the tip. (How generous!) Apparently, this is an Uber Eats policy but the folks at Kimchi Box claimed that they had already started the order so they couldn't refund the money. I simply cannot believe that Kimchi Box started the order in the ONE MINUTE between the time of order and the time of cancellation. No restaurant is THAT fast. You are complicit in this theft, Kimchi Box. A bigger problem was that my wife was only informed of this "policy" AFTER she canceled the order. Had we known, I would have gladly driven to Kimchi Box to pick up the meal that met my wife and kids over at our relatives' house. Sadly, we weren't given that chance. So, congratulations, Kimchi Box. You got $61 of our hard-earned money for doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. You also LOST A CUSTOMER FOR LIFE! We will NEVER eat at Kimchi Box again.
