I first came here with my high-school class at Kimberton Waldorf when we had our graduation dinner hosted here. Ever since, I'm come here for my birthday and other special day celebrations. The food here is fantastic. Everything is organic and locally sourced, so the taste and health of the food is phenomenal. My favorite cocktail is the Arctic Fox, I get it every time. The atmosphere is also perfect, the special events ballroom is great as a fancy place for private events like my graduation dinner, but my favorite place to eat is in the downstairs dining room where there is a fireplace, it's the perfect ambiance for winter. The service is great too, the waiters are polite and food is served relatively quickly for the type of food they make. I highly recommend coming here, especially in the winter. read more

Another wonderful dinner at the Kimberton Inn last night. I'm so glad they reopened the patio after 5 years. It was a beautiful evening , and their patio is lovely. The cute tuxedo cat that visited us 5 years ago was there! What a nice surprise. Dinner, wine and service were all excellent. When I noticed a dish had feta cheese, I requested bleu instead. They did not use the feta on the risotto and gave me a generous portion of their Birchrun bleu cheese on the side. Delicious! Dined here the other night to celebrate an anniversary and it was such a lovely experience. The space is charming and full of character--definitely a great spot for special occasions. Our waitress was kind, attentive, and very professional. We each started with a small cup of the lobster bisque and shared the crab cakes. Both were outstanding, and the crab cake was especially memorable since it wasn't your typical style--really well done. For entrées, my boyfriend had the lamb chops and I ordered the seared sea scallops. The lamb chops were easily a 10/10! The scallops were cooked perfectly, though I personally felt the pumpkin risotto could have used more seasoning. I really wanted to try dessert but I was completely stuffed. Our waitress still insisted on bringing a complimentary scoop of ice cream, which was rich, delicious, and such a thoughtful touch. Overall, a wonderful meal and experience. I really like this place. It has a lot of character and the food is excellent. The owner is super personable and anytime that I've interacted with the employees. They are amazing. They always have fresh ingredients and willing to accommodate a picky eater like myself. There's ample parking and the place has a very home feeling, which is excellent. This place is so cute! The starter bread was delish. Had the crispy artichoke appetizer and it was to die for. My husband got the sirloin, I got the scallops with saffron risotto -- both were stunning. Haven't had scallops cooked that perfectly maybe ever? One of the worst meals I've ever had from a restaurant. Mom and I ordered the same thing, the scallops and both thought it was terrible. The scallops themselves were not fresh. Very fishy smelling and almost a sour taste not sweet like they should have been. The sauce was terrible, all it tasted like was salt. The rice was greasy, over cooked and completely flavorless. I took a few bites and dumped it in the garbage disposal. The salad was mediocre. The whole thing cost $130 and we both ended up making lean cuisines. Disgraceful coming from this well established restaurant. The man who took the order was extremely rude and we even added a 10% tip for takeout. The website wasn't working where it asked for an address for a credit card, There was some New York address stuck and unable to be deleted. Finally decided to try this place after yrs of recommendations for my BIRTHDAY!! The decor was nice and the staff were courteous, however the food was not it! The brown bread was tasty. The Beekeeper drink was good but the app and entree was terrible. The fried artichokes lacked flavor and I kept tasting something gritty like sand. I don't know if that was a sign that it was not washed thoroughly or what but I couldn't keep eating it. It came with some type of Mayo based dip that lacked freshness. It tasted old. The main entree was filet, smashed potatoes and green beans. The potatoes were chunky, cold and looked very brownish-not creamy at all. The green beans were undercooked and the quality of the filet tastes worse than grocery store meat. Not sure the source of their meat but it tasted like select. Someone who is farm to table now, I know good beef and this was not it. I could not eat it. The plate had red peppers half crunchy and half soggy with some type of sour Demi sauce on the bottom. The whole dish was just luke warm to cold and unseasoned. The waitress asked if I wanted a to go box because she could see that I wasn't eating it and I said no. I was just ready to leave. Did not even bother with dessert or complain just took the experience on the chin because I knew I was not coming back. This is def a one and done visit. I have a very distinct palate and there was no effort to this dish. Just food on a plate, no season and no flavor. I worked 30 years in fine dining F&B, this is a 5 star operation ! Very clean top to bottom, the tables set with the utmost class. Service was impeccable, staff performed every task to perfection down to every detail... and we were 100+ guests. The food was delicious the minute the fork hit my tongue and didn't let up. Awful experience! Jeff (the owner) is a creep. He said multiple sexist things to me and my friends. $900 dinner with tip. The waitress spilled an entire glass of red wine on me and they charged me for the glass! Ruined my pants and favorite jacket. Jeff promised he'd "make it right" and to call him if I couldn't get the stains out. When I did, he said he didn't believe me and asked me to send him my pants so he could try to get the stains out?? Today I stepped in to a cozy, 18th century once-operating inn in the quaint town of Kimberton. I felt immediately taken back in time. We were greeted by a manager who walked us through their Sunday brunch offerings. We were alerted that their brunch is a full-service, sit-down operation, with no a la carte offerings. We came with appetites and happily accepted! We were seated and promptly greeted by an upscale, uniformed wait staff who offered us tea or freshly squeezed orange juice. We opted for the orange juice and it was truly the best I've ever had; it was so fresh and tasty. We were also brought a basket of house-made biscuits and sticky buns. The biscuits were divine (it's one of my favorite foods, so I'm a tough critic!). For appetizers, I had the gronola with fresh fruit and my boyfriend had the "Best Salad You'll Ever Have". With such a confident title, we were anxious to see if it was aptly named. He said it lived up to its title. For entrees, I had the vanilla French toast with fresh fruit and a side of bacon, and my boyfriend had the Eggs Benedict with home fries. Unfortunately, he said the muffin was a little burned and the overall taste left something to be desired. The wait staff were friendly and very accommodating; your water glass will be refilled the moment it touches your lips. For $26 each, I felt that we were given a good value. My wife and I and a friend went to dinner this past Sunday evening. The menu was extensive with several specials added the server greeted us if we were interested in a cocktail before dinner. We ordered a Blue Coat dry martini which was prepared perfectly. For appetizers we had lobster bisque served hot, five jumbo shrimp crisp and cold with a tangy sauce on the side and a house salad. The entrees were duck breast with leg and thigh, sea scallops and something you rarely see on a menu. Calf's liver with caramelized onions, applewood bacon with a red wine reduction. The chef recommended the liver cooked medium rare , which is how I would have ordered it. It was outstanding! We ordered a bottle of pinot Noir with dinner. The hot fudge sundae was a nice ending to a great meal. The dining area was well appointed with linen service as well as a fireplace near our table. Our server was attentive and friendly. The Kimberton Inn is my go-to place for dining in Phoenixville. Usually greeted at the entrance by Oliver, the vocalizing cat. The owner, Jeff, is a highly professional, no nonsense guy who oversees a highly professional very friendly staff. Excellent wine list, although a little pricey....pretty much like wine lists all across the country. Wonderful bar with friendly and efficient bartender. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. Every dish was delicious. We went through several baskets of bread and ordered nearly everything on the appetizer list. Love the ambiance of this restaurant. Very old school classy restaurant decorated like you are eating at a dining room back in time. As for the food great presentation with good quality. Started with shrimp cocktail which was very fresh and nice size shrimp. For our main courses I got the filet mignon which was cooked perfectly. As for the steak it was good but I have definitely had better nothing to complain about though. My date had the crab cake which was a nice size portion and great flavor. Couldn't get drink refills. Meat was not prepared as requested. Served cold and old french fries, refried in old cooking oil. Burger bun was burnt, not toasted. Quinoa salad was 1/2 the size of the other salads for the same price. Shrimp cocktail was hard as rocks. Chicken breast entree was significantly undercooked. Wait staff handed guests plates to pass to the other guests instead of coming around the table to place the plates on table directly. Very slow service. So I have to say I've been coming here for a long time and under the current management this place is absolutely phenomenal. Their Craft cocktails are solid, well executed with outstanding ideas and continued experimentation. they impress -- some of the best in the area outside of downtown Philadelphia. That said- I have not eaten here that much but I did tonight. The duck breast plus leg confit was outstanding and "best salad you ever had" lived up to its name. Both beyond reproach. I've been wanting to try this restaurant for months now and we finally went there to celebrate our anniversary. They sat us right next to the beautiful wood burning fire-- which I absolutely loved! The service and food were equally amazing. Menu options were great, and we each chose to order the filet mignon. The drink menu was expansive, and the waitress helped us choose a bottle of red to enjoy with our meal. It's our home away from home. We live a couple miles away and our regular go-to. It's cozy and inviting. Most nights Oliver (the friendly cat) will greet you prior to entering the door. And then Jeff, caretaker extraordinaire, or one of his esteemed staff will seat you. The fact that you can reserve bar seats is clutch, it's our favorite. The menu is plentiful and we've never had anything we haven't loved. From beginning to end our experience was stellar. On arrival for our reservation, we were greeted cordially and shown swiftly to our table. The service throughout was wonderful--servers and waitstaff appearing almost magically at table side just when needed, and otherwise remained invisible. The food of course was excellent. What a treat. On our departure, on admiring the painting of the Inn near the entrance, we were treated to a discussion of the Inn and its history by the owner who just "happened by."
