We stopped midday on a recent road trip to this small town burger spot with 50s diner charm and friendly people. Just off the freeway a bit, this is a great place for a tasty meal, ice cream dessert or snack pleaser We enjoyed some fried pickles while we waited for our tortilla burgers ( we added avocado). The pickle chips and ranch dressing was good but a little too salty for my liking. The tortilla burger was a veggie loaded cheesy smashed beef burger in two fried tortillas. Greasy but good. Fall all apart but finger-lickability. With a side of hot fries, this filled us up quickly. But not too full to not partake in an ice cream shake for the road. Needless to say, we couldn't move for a good two hours but we felt great having a bucket list item checked and a satiated palate.

I was very disappointed with my experience…read more I ordered the ribeye with a baked potato and a house salad. The first issue was that my house salad didn't arrive until after my entrée was served. I ordered my steak medium, but when I cut into it, it was completely overcooked. The meat was gray throughout, with no pink at all, and it was so tough that I couldn't enjoy it. I almost never send food back, but this was one of those rare times. The waitress was very apologetic and confirmed she had entered the order correctly as medium, so she had the kitchen prepare another steak. While waiting, I started eating my salad. When the replacement steak arrived, it looked better from the outside, but once I cut into it, I found it was just as overcooked as the first one--gray all the way through and again with no hint of pink. On top of that the baked potato was cold and seemed to maybe be reheated in the microwave as it was chewy. The "fresh rolls" had to be 1-2 days old. Stale and flavorless. At that point, I couldn't help but question the quality of the steaks. For a steakhouse, I expected a much higher standard. Based on my experience, the meat seemed to be of poor quality and certainly didn't meet expectations for a properly cooked ribeye. The waitress did her best to make things right, and I appreciate her effort, but unfortunately the kitchen failed twice. I left very disappointed and wouldn't return based on the quality of the food.

Every Italian place I have tried in Austin is a total ripoff - extremely overpriced and low quality. This place was the total opposite of every Italian restaurant I've been to in Austin - it was amazing! I immediately felt like I was back in NY. They were so friendly and gave us warm garlic butter rolls and water the second we sat down. It was the biggest menu - I wanted everything! It was so difficult to choose as I don't see even 1/4 of these options in Austin! I finally decided on the spaghetti and eggplant parm. But how I wish I could also get the baked ziti, the meat sauce, the lasagne, the subs, the calzones and the pizza too as everything looked amazing! The portions were massive - enough for 2-3 meals! Plus you get free salad and bread. And when we were done they offered us even more rolls to take home! Took 10 rolls home plus leftover salad and pasta. It was absolutely delicious, so satisfying. The best comfort food for a Sunday night meal. We paid $40 total for a massive meal that would have easily cost $75 in Austin and been 1/2 the size! Wish I could go back again and again if it wasn't 2 hours away!

The chicken is horrible. Inedible. It tastes like a boiled chicken breast. No flavor, texture like rubber. I've tried it several times. It is not good. My daughter likes to get the baked ziti... she really likes it, but often has to take off almost a pound of cheese before she can eat it. There is such a thing as too much cheese. I have heard the owner yell harshly at the weight staff and don't really understand why anybody would work for somebody that screams at them the way he does. Roma's has the potential to be amazing but I feel like the owner is holding himself back. Also, the prices are a little high. If I could sit down and have a frank conversation with the owner, I would suggest dropping the price by a few dollars and cutting the portions in half. I'd come more often if the prices were lower, even if I got less food.

Very polite and friendly. Before I even walked in someone had stood up from hand making egg rolls to greet me with a big smile on her face. She sat there with an older woman humming and singing some tunes all while meticulously crafting these beautiful little egg rolls. I happened to be the only person inside when I came in and the lady who greeted me promptly took my order and then went into the kitchen and made my order. Now, I love Vietnamese food. If there is a restaurant nearby I've probably been to it, so I've got a lot of options and variations to compare Rocky's with. It was very tasty. The broth had a very different flavor than I've had before and it was fantastic. Good combination and quantities of all ingredients and enough broth to make my own concoction to dip my delicious egg rolls into. Folks, if you're passing through I highly recommend stopping in and giving them a try. Just don't forget to bring cash or checks because they don't have a CC machine.
