Jalapeño popper burger with fries and a drink!

The service was fast and quick! The prices are low, and is a perfect rest stop for food! Great for families as well. It wasn't too busy either, a very calm and relaxing place. The liver was good, and the jalapeño popper burger was good as well!

Delicious home style cooking in Sinton TX ! We stopped in on our way home from Rockport. The burger we ordered had a large patty cooked to order and the fries were crispy and delicious! We also had the chicken salad sandwich lunch special and it was a hefty portion as well with choice of side and tasted just like mom made it ! We didn't have room for dessert but took 3 mini pies home. The family at home loved the homemade pies too. If u are in the area stop in for some friendly service from their smiling staff. We will return next time we are in the area

Gave her the empty bread basket and she left it right in front of me on our already crammed table. Cleared the table again of bread plates and abruptly left them at the bar and they looked at me like "what's her problem" yet no one came to our table even then. 4.) 2 out of the 5 silverware sets had dried crusty potato or something like it on the knife's. The fork had lettuce stuck in between the prongs!! And it was wrapped in the black napkin so who would do such a nasty dirty thing? The manager is not managing anything at this place. 5.) Appetizer(fried mushrooms) came out hot and tasty but we never saw Mel V again to ask for dipping sauce. Disappointing. 6.) main dishes came out together but a lot of it was cold. (Very disheartening) It was as if some plates were ready before the others so half of it was cold to the touch, again unimaginably disappointing. 7.) waited 20 mins for wait staff and no one came back, went to ask a short stubby man if he was the manager and he said yes. Told him my concerns but he didn't give a crap, he actually turned his back to walk away as I was still talking. He didn't bring the Togo boxes he said he would get OR even visit the table. He just went and found Mel V. Just so I'm clear, Mel v. is not the problem and to my knowledge, she did her very best. it's the manager and lack of support provided to the wait staff. Side note: There was shit at the base of the toilet, so this place wasn't even a good restroom stop. I'm just very disappointed as my family and I came from Houston to this "good place" when really it was nothing but a disaster from the get go. At one point my dad asked if we should just walk out. We literally watched so many people come and go and no one paid any attention to our table. There are millions of places to eat in-between Houston & here yet we chose this place and left completely dissatisfied and unfulfilled. Pick another establishment because between the cold food and service, this place is not worth it in my opinion.

When you walk in, there's a clear line leading up to the register, with menus posted along the way and a large menu board up front, which makes ordering pretty easy. They offer a wide variety of options. The day we went, they had a chopped beef sandwich combo with a drink and a side for around $10, which felt like a solid deal. For my sides, I tried the mashed potatoes, potato salad, creamed corn, and okra. The okra was a standout--fresh, crispy, and really well done. The potato salad was also very good and worth getting. The creamed corn was something I hadn't had before--it included bacon and had a really unique flavor. It might not be for everyone, but I personally couldn't stop eating it, so I'd definitely recommend giving it a try. As for the chopped beef sandwich, it wasn't my favorite. It was a bit dry, even after adding extra barbecue sauce, and I didn't find it especially flavorful. That said, others in my group actually thought it leaned on the sweeter side, so your experience may vary. One thing that really stood out was the service. The staff was super friendly, patient, and happy to answer questions and help with recommendations. Overall, I'd say it's worth stopping by if you're in the area. If you're up for comparing, there's another barbecue spot a few miles down the road--Choke Canyon--that I've also enjoyed, especially for their sandwiches. Makes for a fun side-by-side if you're a BBQ fan.

For starters, their menu was extremely difficult to follow, sides are not listed making it a challenge to put your dinner thoughts together (nothing like website.) I Ordered an onion ring appetizer for the table, I do expect see a little grease on onion rings BUT not so much grease that it literally took handfuls of napkins to strain all the grease. So we decided what about a salad? When it came, my wife immediately saw a long black hair on the top it, draped over the side of the salad bowl. Our meal came and we all were expecting it to be like the website photos but it was NOT! It was cold and greasy, fish had lots of bones, broccoli Coleslaw was very sweet and warm...I am terribly embarrassed that I took my mom to this place! We felt really sorry for the pleasant young lady that waited on us, she was great and did tip her well (she's not to blame for the poorly prepared and food). I thought maybe it was an off night? But every single thing that came out was horrible unfortunately. We surely will not travel all the way here again. Hope your experience was better than ours!

The restaurant is located in a strange space right where Airline and Cimarron intersect; it's a bit hard to find. The inside is painted bright sea blue with nautical decorations with about 20 tables. The menu contains mostly seafood but some chicken and steak selections. We ordered fried grouper/shrimp platter with okra and cole slaw and grilled shrimp with rice pilaf and mixed vegetables. We were given a bowl of fresh potato chips, warm from the fryer - they're good, but I would suggest salt and seasonings, maybe even a sauce for dipping as they are bland. Bland seemed to be the cuisine of the day. Our fish and shrimp were not seasoned very well, and needed more salt/pepper just to be palatable. The tartar sauce is very tasteless as is the cole slaw made with mainly red cabbage. The okra was fine, the hushpuppies were forgettable and would benefit greatly from a little jalapeno, onion, corn or pepper. Grilled shrimp was good except for the seasoning and the pilaf was okay, but who raves about rice pilaf? Steamed veggies (yawn) were yucky. Even a cheese sauce or butter sauce would have improved the flavor. The portions of grouper on the fish/shrimp platter were tiny - about the size of a half dollar and there were only three of them. At the price you would expect a little more. The shrimp on that platter were large but overcooked. Everything tasted fresh - - no complaints there. The service was attentive and friendly. The restaurant is clean inside and has a full bar. Total for two platters, two teas was $46.88 without tip. With just a few tweaks this restaurant would be five stars.

With large dead animal heads on the wall. There were 2 deer, a doe and a buck. An elk. A bighorn sheep. A Longhorn bovine. And an exotic nilgai. If that doesn't say this is where people like to hunt, while we were viewing the eclipse, we encountered a couple who stopped on the way to their hunting lease. An extra star for the service. The people were nice and helpful. We were kind of demanding and they met all our requests promptly and pleasantly. The food. The steaks had a strong, strange taste. The best I could figure was it was liquid smoke. You're not fooling anyone into thinking you're cooking over a mesquite fire by marinating your steaks in liquid smoke. At least you're not fooling me. Perfectly cooked steaks rendered nearly inedible by the overwhelming, weird flavor. My tablemate's liver was so undercooked it was bloody. I don't think liver is supposed to be served rare. The salad was really good. Other sides were meh. The green beans were canned. French fries looked like they originated frozen out of a bag. The potato skin appetizer was good. The broccoli fresh but mushy - or possibly frozen as well? The cheesecake was good but they served it upside down with the crust on top? The wines were average - drinkable, but I think the wine at Olive Garden is better? I wanted to go to the Mexican restaurant but got overruled by the two guys. I'll hold that I may be wrong about the mesquite, but I did not see or smell any sign of a wood/charcoal fire.
