This is the best Thai/ Chinese I've had in over 10 years and it's local. The soups are amazing, the ambience is great, the plates and portions are huge! It's flavors and it's sauces are awesome! The Phad Tai was really different from regular Phad tai had around the globe. I think they used the wrong noodles. Sauce and o really flavor was particularly off. If your going to be a Thai restaurant you gotta at least get this right guys. The sweet n sour chicken was less in quality than typical at other places. Wife said a 3-star for this dish. It was breaded too thick. Thicker than typical. There was one good thing we had and that was the Egg Drop soup. Hard to mess that one up usually. It was good. Hence the 2-stars. A dive Thai place. Best description for it. About 20 minutes from Rockport and 10 from Aransas Pass, this little place in Ingleside serves up surprisingly legit Thai at very reasonable prices. Had a buddy from Vegas send a note that he had set up "my people" (some colleagues out there to support a book/TV show we love) at the best Thai joint in Vegas last night. I texted back, "that's all well and good, but I'm at the best Thai in Ingleside, TX. Highlights were a crispy rice dish Viet Thai that was interesting and delicious. So was my red and green curry dish called (pol pot yum, or duk fat ma, or something in the three syllable range). In any case, glad to know it's here and it's good. Every time we are in the area we visit Terry's for their Thai Nem. It is our fav dish with the right amount of spice. We typically get it with chicken and their thai iced tea. 1 order can serve 2 and the thai tea is in a larger glass so def shareable as well. Food was terrible, tasted nothing like Thai cuisine. But other than the nasty food, there was steel wool shavings in our dish, and hair. I ignored the hair, mainly because we probably consume more hair anyways, but the steel wool I couldn't. After biting into the chicken with noodles, I tried chewing what I thought was seasoning but after spitting it out I realized what it was. I told the waitress about it who apologized and that's it. I ordered the yellow curry with shrimp and coconut milk ect. with medium heat. White rice and crab Rangoon as well as vegetable spring rolls. Food was not even close to real Thai food. The yellow curry had a broth base not coconut milk. No flavor and I would say a level 4 in the heat. The appetizers where deep fried and that's about it. Crab Rangoon had some flavor and the vegetable spring roll had zero flavor. Service was good. I was the only one there because they just opened for the evening rush. The place is an old home that's run down which is expected for the area. If it wasn't for the industry in the area with the vehicle traffic this place would not survive. Kind of old looking outside but very nice inside. Seated immediately, drink and entree order taken quickly. Cloth napkins and tablecloths, metal utensils, real plates. Ordered yellow curry with shrimp ( spice level one) and crab rangoons. Came with egg drop soup as well. Hot mustard on each table was nice, usually have to ask for this separately. The crab Rangoon has something other than just cream cheese inside . Very good. Yellow curry had carrots, potatoes,bell peppers, and cucumber. Was surprised the shrimp still had the tail attached and necessitated their removal while eating. The yellow curry sauce was a bit watery and did not have a distinct coconut milk flavor I'm used too. Normally spicy and sweet it was mostly spicy. Overall good service, reasonable prices and OK food in my opinion. I thought service was good till it came time to leave. Seemed forgotten as several tables around me received their checks. After quite a while I had to flag down a different waitress to request it. read more

We decided to head out of town in search of a new place to eat We found Thai Cafe and decided to give it a try. As we walked into the cute, pink house, we were immediately greeted by a cheerful man who told us we could sit anywhere we wanted. We chose a table and our server was quick to bring menus and water. We decided to start with steamed dumplings, which came out hot and fresh. They were delicious. Very tender and juicy. I was excited to see they had larb gai, a wonderfully refreshing Thai salad that is not always found on restaurant menus. As soon as I saw that, I didn't even finish reading the menu. I knew what I was getting! I asked for level 2 spiciness (out of 4 levels), which was perfect for me. The salad was full of white meat chicken, dressed with cilantro, lime juice, onions, and spices. It was fantastic. I'm already craving another one! My husband opted for the red curry (kang masaman), also at level 2. He loved it. However, my level 2 was much spicier than his, so maybe mine actually came out a 3? Our server was great. Very cheerful, and always kept our water glasses full. We are from out of town and came here to have lunch today. We are from Dallas and are used to amazing Thai food. The food wasn't bad but to me it wasn't that good either. It tasted like a Chinese version of Thai food. That wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing except that I don't like Chinese food. I will say that the service was amazing and the prices were great. My son got the beef pho and it was really good. Probably wouldn't go back but if you like Chinese food then you will probably like it. It seems like a Chinese place disguised as a Thai place. I feel like if I would have known that going in then I would have enjoyed it more. read more

Food is always consistent and good. I always order the curries (panang, as of late), and sometimes the pad Thai. I will usually order one star because I have ordered two stars several times, and sometimes it is too spicy for me. I suppose that is the only inconsistent thing - when ordering the same spice level, sometimes it can be a bit spicier. Other than that, the main dish themselves are always consistent. I will also add that the peanut chicken appetizer (can't remember the proper name right now) has good flavors in terms of sauce, but on both separate occasions, the chicken was a bit dry. Service is friendly, as a rule, and seating is spaced out enough to give you some privacy in your conversation. Good Thai food in a small Texas town. Whodathunkit? They also have Chinese food on the menu, but we haven't tried it. The pad Thai, coconut curries (we've had the panang and green), and basil and other stir fries are super tasty. And the prices are very reasonable. Our favorite thai place in the area is comically expensive and they nickel and dime you for everything. Terry's Thai Café is much more reasonable. I have rated with four stars, mainly because it's one of the VERY few places in the area where you can get any oriental food of any kind (I Love Noodle in Aransas Pass closed from the storm). The food is good here and cooked fresh to order with fresh ingredients, however please note the following : 1) wait staff (two) is limited, with the same two also responsible for take-out orders, and cashier duties so service can be a bit slow 2) they do have "Chinese" dishes besides Thai, but I've never seen anyone order it 3) I have a sneaking suspicion the pad thai sauce is from a bottle rather than made in the wok with each order 4) They have steamed or fried pork dumplings, but "fried" means deep fried rather than properly pan fried As stated, if you want oriental food in this area it's the only place around and fortunately it's not half bad. read more

I have been coming here for years. This place is a jewel in the rough. The Thai food is wonderful. The Chinese food is great. I consider this to be gourmet food. The portions are very generous. The waitstaff is very attentive to your every need. They are very nice. Every time I am in town, I must eat here at least once. I would probably eat here every day if my co-workers would let me. My favorite dishes are the Pad Ki Mow (Thai Green Curry) and the Khao Pad (Thai Style Fried Rice). If you get the Khao Pad make sure you get a fried egg on top and ask them to make it with Basil. I don't like TVs in restaurants. I just don't. When I see a TV in a restaurant, it immediately turns me off to it. That being said, if the noise box was a little lower and not so distracting, I'd have given this place five stars. The food is delicious, out of this world even. This is some of the best Thai we've ever eaten! Just a little place in a little town, but outstanding eats.The "Adventurous" level of heat (3 out of 4)was quite nice- warm but not blazing.
