I had the hottest baked potato ever, yum, and delicious green beans. Dylan enjoyed his steak enourmously, with creamed corn and a loaded baked potato. I had reasonable expectations and Nemo's still managed to exceed them. Both the interior and exterior of the restaurant are unremarkable. But don't let the boring decor fool you, the food was solid. I had grilled scallops, cabbage and green beans. Sounds like a weird assortment, doesn't it? But it knocked my socks off! First of all, the sea scallops were absolutely amazing. Though simply cooked in butter and spices, they tasted fresh, on par with large scallops I had bought at Whole Foods in the past and cooked at home, perhaps even better. (Okay there were better, I admit it... But I pride myself in being a good cook nonetheless!) The side of cabbage was delish. I mean, guys, I don't even care for cabbage, I don't normally like it. But it struck me when I looked at the menu, seeing a Vietnamese section, that the owners aren't your typical Texan cooks. They're eclectic. When when I see originality, I have to try it. The green beans were also fresh, simple but well put together, without bacon, the way they should be, because that's how my grandma used to cook them (grandma is always right, sorry not sorry.) That's right, eating at Nemo's reminded be of home cooking at its best, made with heart and care. I didn't expect to find that in Rockport of all places, nothing less than a meal that took me to new places, and simultaneously down memory lane. My husband had the catfish and his portion was generous. He also had a side of their special pineapple coleslaw, which is in all ways superior to traditional coleslaw. Regular coleslaw sucks, big time. Nemo's is a long overdue improvement upon the original recipe. I stole some of his coleslaw. When you serve me coleslaw anywhere else, I set it aside, and unless someone else eats it, it ends up in the trash. Just saying. So, all in all, while the place looks absolutely boring and undedicated in many ways, the food made up for lack of ambiance. I'd go back.

The crispies were good; ate all of those. Fried Rice was also orangey and needed to be cooked longer. I like bamboo shoots as much as the next person, but not a whole can on my plate. Too many water chestnuts also, but the amount of carrots was great. Usually there's never enough carrots for me. Egg drop soup: was trying to figure out what it tastes like since I've never actually had it before. Chicken broth. It tastes like chicken broth. Just with egg floating in it and the occasional carrot or pea, but it was good since the plates took a while to come out. There's a sign posted that says: We are not a fast food place. Note: Don't ask to sub wonton soup on your entree cause "that's a separate item". Very polite and friendly. Before I even walked in someone had stood up from hand making egg rolls to greet me with a big smile on her face. She sat there with an older woman humming and singing some tunes all while meticulously crafting these beautiful little egg rolls. I happened to be the only person inside when I came in and the lady who greeted me promptly took my order and then went into the kitchen and made my order. Now, I love Vietnamese food. If there is a restaurant nearby I've probably been to it, so I've got a lot of options and variations to compare Rocky's with. It was very tasty. The broth had a very different flavor than I've had before and it was fantastic. Good combination and quantities of all ingredients and enough broth to make my own concoction to dip my delicious egg rolls into. Folks, if you're passing through I highly recommend stopping in and giving them a try. Just don't forget to bring cash or checks because they don't have a CC machine.

The horchata was good as well. It was more on the cinnamon flavor profile but if you do enjoy horchata I would give it a try. I would say a more sweeter take.The price is reasonable and worth it. The shop is family run. I definitely appreciate that opposed to the much busier atmosphere. It is a really relaxed feel. Very homey vibe with the minimalist decor and the figurines on the shelves. Overall it is good experience. I did not see any other places in the area that has boba. Driving, we had to turn around but you cannot miss it. It is a really nice teal blue color on N Church.
