Two scoop - new Orleans praline pecans and macinack Island fudge
    Sho R.

I have been there on a weekend evening. The place was not too busy. There was good chocolate, fudge, candied apple etc. I decided to go with a 2 scoop ice cream. New Orleans praline pecans and macinack Island fudge were my 2 flavors. Both were good flavors. But I think these are not their best flavors.

Classic candy store with delicious fresh treats and icecream. Always fast service and friendly people. Overall it's a must when in Madison.

We stopped in here this past weekend, as soon as you stop in you are surrounded by the smell of chocolate like a warm hug on a winters day! Kilwins is hands down the best chocolate shop in Madison! Located right on State Street, they have a great location to service all of Madison! I highly suggest their Carmel apples! We got one of their dark chocolate with sea salt Carmel apples and it was absolutely heavenly. Snag one to share and that will make any afternoon 10x better! I've already had several cravings since then!

Kilwins is a popular regional chocolate shop, a more regional Rocky Mt Chocolate Factory in a lot of ways. The store has a homey decor that looks decent but still has that franchise feel detracting from a true local shop feel. They have a wide assortment of various chocolates and ice cream. The Toasted Coconut ice cream was refreshing and a somewhat unique flavor.

Got a couple of small bon bons, caramel apple with sea salt and milk chocolate, and ice cream. It is typical pricing so a bit expensive but delicious. Everything was decadent and rich in its flavors. The caramel apple can be sliced if wanted. Unfortunately, the area is all boarded up for safety but a few restaurants and stores are open. This one is a little hard to find if not looking for it. It is huge and does have some out door seating out front so look for that. Street parking is available a ways away. There are lots of passerby and foot traffic, so make sure to wear a mask. Would recommend and will be back in future.

My weakness is this spot! Due to the prices, I'll treat myself maybe quarterly. It can be addicted because the selections are delicious. Comfort candy! Great spot to bring out of town visitors. Totally worth the drive from the west side. No parking except the street or garage. That part is annoying - for a quick in and out. Bad day or week, go for it. You won't regret it!

Kilwins brings so much joy :) to the state street area in Madison, WI thanks to their comforting delicious homemade sweet treats and their ice cream! They are right across from the well known Overture Center. They have everything from large delicious homemade caramel apples, fudge, hand crafted caramel corn/brittle, chocolate confections, & unique ice cream flavors that you can get with waffle cones! Every time my husband & I walk along state street we love making a stop at Kilwins! The amazing sweet aroma & delicious treats in the front window will draw you in!!! My husband's face lights up when he orders the homemade chocolate turtles and chocolate peanut butter dipped rice krispie treats! Kilwins is also a great place to buy gifts for people you know have a sweet tooth as they also have nicely packaged chocolate gift boxes and other already pre packaged treats!!! Their prices are not cheap but the sweets are high quality and hand crafted confections. Definitely check out Kilwins! We have always had friendly service and a great experience every time we wondered into Kilwins!

First time seeing this brand and learned they are in numerous States. Had the Madison mud flavor and it was pretty good. $5 for a single cone in a dish. Lots of flavors we haven't seen before; friendly service. We love trying ice creams everywhere we visit and Coneflower creamery in Omaha, NE is the best! Thank me later :)

I first tried a Kilwin's in Michigan. It was so good, they had a apple pie ice cream that was from outer space! It was so good I went back the next day for more and bought my aunt and uncle a big container of it. They didn't have it this time but the strawberry blueberry pie ice cream is crazy good too! The turtle pretzels are for fat people so I got some . On state street so you have to find parking. Good, friendly staff. I've not had anything bad here yet! Go here you'll love it.

I'm from California and one of my favorite things to do when I travel to to try local ice cream. Found this place via Yelp as I was walking around post flight. Not knowing what to order, I always the employee what they like. Toasted coconut was the winner. While the ice cream is much softer than I am used to, the flavor and texture was spot in. It seemed like every shred of coconut was dipped in chocolate. Could it really be? Very good. Wish I could stay longer to eat more! Did get a small chunk of the chocolate peanut butter fudge for the hubby.

Kilwins is the best sweet stop on State! One of their products elbows its way to the front of the pack in my mind but all treats are made with the finest ingredients and their in-store made caramel is something that needs to be experienced by all. If you ask me, you can never go wrong with a salty-sweet combination, so I am a sucker for the milk chocolate covered caramel apple with the sea salt flakes. *insert drool emoji* but they have LOTS to offer in their shop. An assortment of chocolates, fudge, truffles, ice cream, candies, gift boxes, caramel apples, and more! It would be hard to not find something for everyone. They even have premade boxes available to give as a last-minute gift. Their location is near the Orpheum theater and right around the corner from the State Street/Capital parking garage so is easy to locate. Free fudge samples are always available, and they keep their cases fully stocked and sweets fresh! I will not "apple"-ogize for stopping here every time I'm downtown!

    Delicious fudge

This gourmet shop is bursting with cuteness the minute you walk in! We primarily came here for the fudge based on recommendations from friends local to the area. We sampled the salted caramel and double dark chocolate fudge then purchased both. They just melt in your mouth! The caramel apples were also delicious and they cut them for you so it's easy to eat and share. I highly recommend picking up treats for yourself when visiting this cute shop. You won't be disappointed!

They have an amazing selection - and not just of their own items! They also sell packaged products from reputable brands such as ChocZero and Good Good just to name a couple for Keto examples. Their newer location is convenient (their own parking + outside seating) and so much bigger, which allowed for the selection and product expansion. I usually stock up on a bunch of goodies since I don't live in the area. What's good? I highly recommend the keto breakfast sandwich - really hits the spot. The coffee wasn't for me (I got a latte as a combo with the bfast sandwich - wouldn't get it again). I love the pies - peanut butter or cookie butter, and the truffle bombs. The selection rotates and most recently I enjoyed the white chocolate peppermint Christmas tree cake. Service is always sooo nice! The last time I was in the store, however, I was made to feel chastised and unwelcome, and while I recognize that this is a very personal response to an impersonal slap down, it left me feeling so stung that I doubt I'll return. What happened was this: I needed a new pair of reading glasses, and I'd gotten the most adorable Peepers from this store in the past. It was 5:50pm, and I saw on their door sign that they closed at 6pm. Great! I thought. I'll pop in and grab a pair. Immediately upon entering, one employee said, "You know we close in ten minutes." "Got it! I'll be quick!" I replied. I went to the rack of glasses, considered a few pairs, and checked the fit in the little mirror on the rack. In that little mirror, I could see the employee behind me, who was frowning and rolling her eyes in exasperation, mouthing to her fellow employees on the other side of the room that , "No, not yet, she's still here." Yikes, I thought, checking my watch. It was 5:55pm, so I chose a pair and went to the register. One last thing--I wanted to get an e-cloth, a product a different employee had recommended to me the last time I was there. I mentioned this to the employee as she grouchily said, "Will that be all?" She huffed, "Well, the e-cloths are in a different part of the store." She strode off, and I said, "Any one will do!" She said, "No, just come pick the one you want." She proceeded to lead me to a section of wash cloths and sink cleaning scrubby brushes? When I explained that no, I was looking for a microfiber cloth to clean the lenses of the glasses with, and that they used to be stocked at the register, she huffed again and said, "Well, they're not anymore, are they? Also, we're just about to close...?" I bought the glasses, walked out the door, and checked my watch. 5:59pm. But golly, those nine minutes I spent in their store, encroaching on what I assume was their rush to be done and escape their pesky customers, left a bad taste in my mouth that nine days later still hasn't left. Which is a bummer. As I said, I really liked that store. Problem is, the cutest merchandise in the world can't make up for poor customer service.

I ordered the smoked turkey sandwich, and the gentleman taking my order pointed to a random piece of focaccia on display on the counter and asked if I'd like my sandwich on that. I don't know what kind of bread if normally comes on, but I have since read about the thicker/crustier bread on some reviews. Gosh am I glad he offered the focaccia. The bread made this sandwich, it was sooo good. It was light and fluffy despite being substantial in size, and had this delightful little crunch from the sea salt on it (not in a salty sense, just in a wonderful texture sense). There was a ton of turkey on it and it was a yummy smoked flavor. The other fixings were standard but complimented the sandwich very well. The sandwich was tasty and filling. All this said, because I paid $16 for my sandwich, I wouldn't make it a regular occurrence, maybe a special treat. But if it's on regular bread, particularly a harder crust bread, I think I'd skip it entirely. You do get a lot of sandwich for your money, but I just can't justify it. So, overall, this is definitely worth trying and deciding for yourself - I don't think you'll be disappointed.

We had so much fun, and we could see that all of the staff were also having a good time. Nothing but positivity, and it transfers into each and every delicious dish! We absolutely loved the complimentary cheese puffs (Gougeres). It was the perfect start to a fantastic meal. I enjoyed a starter of beet, walnut and cheese tart, and my dining partner thought his French Onion soup was stellar. I chose Monkfish stew for my main dish. It was incredible....silky, savory broth with melt-in-your-mouth monkfish plus tender shrimp and asparagus. The bread served with the stew was so delicious to soak it all up. My dining partner thoroughly enjoyed his Bistro steak with king trumpet mushrooms. The mushrooms were so elevated and so delicious. We shared a side of charred carrots and thought very highly of them, too. We closed out our epic meal by sharing one slice of Gateau Basque cake. It was served with a side of a tart cherry compote, and together this dessert was perhaps THE BEST dessert outside of France. Incredible! Sitting at the bar, our server was bartender Nina W. We were ten minutes early and they had just opened - strangely they would not seat us though our seats at the kitchen bar were open. So we huddled on the bench five feet away from our seats. When I went on-line to make a reservation the only seats available were at the kitchen bar - that turned out to be fortunate because it was highly entertaining. When we return we will book these seats again as a couple (if you are with a group it is not a good place to hold a conversation). The bartender/ our server Jackson was super friendly and did a great job answering all our questions as we quizzed him on the action in the kitchen which was right in front of us (it's a small tight space). We ordered a beer and a wine followed by a small cup of French onion soup which was very tasty and a serving of their pate which was also very good. It was good that we had these front row seats because for some reason the kitchen appeared to be running a bit slow so the wait for our mains was pretty long. We did notice that when the owner arrived she started to direct the kitchen staff and the pace picked up! I got the pork tenderloin which was very flavorful and done with a bit of pink so it was not dry. It was a large serving. My wife got the sea bass in a puff pastry which was beautifully presented. The sauce was essential otherwise the dish would have been a bit plain. She really liked it. We were too full for desserts but they looked tempting though they did give us some savory cookies from their Bloom Bakery which is next store. This is not an inexpensive place to dine but it was well worth it. We will be back!
