Kilwins is a mixture of ice cream, chocolates and fudge. Everything they have is dipped in chocolate or caramel or both! The gal that helped me today was LOVELY and boxed my treats in a box. They could've been thrown in a bag, but she took the time to add them to a box with a sticker. It's that extra effort that keeps me coming back to kilwins for hostess gifts or party favors. Just a little chocolate goes a long way!

My friend and I went here after the movies and decided to try their ice cream. The store itself is small but they have so much to offer from ice cream, candies, fudge, caramel apples, etc. It's location is perfectly located in downtown Elmhurst right next to the movie theatre. It was so hard to choose a flavor but I went with the All-American Two Berry Pie. Talk about YUM! The ice cream itself was so creamy and smooth. The texture was absolutely perfect. In the vanilla ice cream, there was a nice blend of strawberry, Blueberry, and sugared pie crust pieces. It was by far one of the best ice cream flavors I have ever had. The only downside is that they are quite pricy. It was $13 and some odd change for 2 single scoops in cake cones. I personally think that is pretty steep and the portion is just average. I cannot wait to come back to try more flavors as I am a ice cream lover!

Friendly, young workers. Quick service and great selection of flavors. The s'mores is definitely my favorite! Smells wonderful when you enter the ice cream shop.

This location may be a little smaller than other Kilwins locations, but the food here is just as good! Come here if you're looking for high quality treats at a reasonable price that are packaged and presented nicely. Service is friendly and the aromas are wonderful.

I love the smell of this bakery/chocolate/ice cream shop. The smell is awesome. When you enter you immediately get the amazing aroma of chocolate. This was a fun place to stop in to. The restaurant is bright and nicely decorated. They have a very wide variety to choose from. I got two mint cookies and two dark chocolate truffles. The bill came out out to over $7 before tax (not a cheap place). The mint cookie was amazing. Great combination of chocolate and mint flavors. The dark chocolate truffles were average. I would have preferred a sweeter taste. I have tried the ice cream at other locations and can recommend that as well. For a chocolate shop that usually kills it, I recommend Kilwin's.

TCBY was closed so we tried something new: Kilwins, and we are so glad!! I had coconut ice cream with chocolate bits- wow! My husband got a double scoop of salted caramel and vanilla, on a waffle cone. Super nice staff. Quick service. Everyone wore masks. Contactless pay. BLM sign on the door. Fabulous experience all around and we will definitely come back!!

This place smells so good! When you enter the door you don't know where to look first! Everything looks delicious and tasty! We got two scopes of ice cream and have to say they are enormous! It is too much for one average person. :-) so, if you're craving sweets, this is the right place to go!

Everything in my previous review still stands, however, I'm adding the fact that they have the most AMAZING hot chocolate I've ever had. So. Yum.

This place never disappoints my sweet tooth. I have been to the Kilwin's in Hyde Park on several occasions. Today, after church I was carving something sweet to eat. I signed in on Yelp to see where I could find me a nice dessert location. My surprise popped up Kilwin's. I only thought there were 2 locations Hyde Park & Downtown Chicago on Michigan Street. It is located in downtown Elmurst right by the movie place. They even have a small patio outside where you can sit and enjoy your treats. I walked inside and that sweet aroma of per paradise of chocolate, fresh nuts and all other good smells hit my nose. I was like a deer stuck in a highlight of goodies. The display of various types of Taffy Apples, every kind of chocolate marshallows and candy. They even sale fudge and Ice cream. You can even watch one of the staffs behind the counter prepare the treats. I ended up purchasing a Caramel Apple with various of nuts. The girl asked if I wanted her to cut my taffy apple. Of course, sure. She cut the pieces in nice halves sizes for me to enjoy each slice. Let me tell you when I bit into one of the slices. O Boy juice flew every which way. Thats when you know you have a juicy and moist taffy apple. The flavor of caramel nuts and freshness together is pure satisfaction I'm forever a Kilwin's Fan

When I used to live in The Chicago area, Kilwins was our go to place for ice cream. It's a little more expensive, about $15 for two scoops of ice cream and two waffle cones, but well worth it! My fiancé needed to get her peppermint ice cream fix while we were back home for the holidays. Kilwins has one of the best chocolate chip cookie dough ice creams I've ever had. The waffle cones are fresh daily. The chocolate and Carmel and everything else is made in house and you won't be disappointed with anything you buy.

This was a great little ice cream shop! It seems like they have a few stores only in the midwest and northeast but this was my first experience at Kilwins. It is impeccably clean and I was greeted by both workers as soon as I walked in from the sweltering heat. As you walk in you see the fudge display to your right and the "kitchen/magic-making area" on the left. And then near the back is their ice cream section, with all of their interpretation of classic ice cream flavors that was made at one of their stores in Michigan. Yes, the price is high. I'm not much of a fudge person so I didn't really get a chance to look at the price but the ice cream ran about $5 a scoop for a waffle cone and $7.50 for 2 scoops and the milkshakes were also about $7 something. Like someone mentioned already, they really do pack in the ice cream so in a sense, you do get your moneys worth. I tried a couple of flavors before deciding on the banana fudge pie. Even though I'm not a huge fudge person, it had the right amount of chocolatey richness. All I can say is that you can taste the quality of the ingredients. I would definitely give this place a try if you're in the area.

    Kilwin's

Hands down best ice cream in the U.S. The ice cream was so creamy and blew my previous top ice cream spot (Handel's) out of the water. Super friendly staff and so many delicious ice cream options (in addition to their other treats). I tried the Kilwin's Tracks, Elmhurst Mud, Cake Batter, and Marshmallow S'mores -- all top notch ice cream flavors. I will definitely be coming back to try more of their delicious sounding flavors and hopefully a slice of their coconut ice cream cake?

I was looking forward to trying the Peanut butter fudge. Peanut butter flavor was lacking. The taste and texture was less than desirable.

I used to love Kilwins and the ice cream is still very good, but charging over $5 for a single scoop of ice cream is friggin' ridiculous.

Close at 10pm but if you need longer later hours a 1am tea shop is about a quarter mile down the road with good options also. Parking lot with plenty of parking. My highlight is that they have booths. Plenty of tables and seating. Good menu options for lattes, iced, hot, espresso, etc. Reasonable priced and they have 20oz coffee. The service was nice as the girl was kind but she didn't seem to understand me well and she didn't know if the coffee was Turkish or not. Therefore, I ordered an Americano with their homemade pistachio sauce. It was a nice beverage. I also ordered a Turkish bread with ground beef. It too was delicious, hot and fresh. The ambiance is inviting. The pastries and mini to small cake options were quite beautiful. The nose level was very quiet until little ones came in. Still tolerable but if you are studying and it's busy don't forget your headphones. Lol. I studied for about 3 hours and I would definitely return again.

But, I am reviewing the Lombard location. The selection was good and fresh, although some of their items are a bit pricey. I ordered cake pops, brownies, and a chocolate chip cookie. The sales person was pleasant and quick. This store is their biggest store, and they feed the Winfield and Schaumburg stores. They make their pastries at this location, so you'll probably get the freshest selection at the Lombard location. I had bought a gift card from Costco for Sweet Reserve. I admit if I hadn't bought it, and received a discount at Costco for it, I probably would not have noticed the store. It's in a small strip mall on Roosevelt road which has hundreds of strip malls off the road. The store itself is clean and well kept. It does have a limited selection of products but they were all pretty good. The brownies are very frudgey, just the way I like them. The cake pops are sweet, but a little dry. The cookie has a lot of chips in them. Overall, I liked the place.
