How that much flavor can be in something without sugar is astounding. It just goes to show the world class, outstanding quality of Kilwin's. My three guests said the strawberry ice cream, traxchocolate chunk ice cream, and the butte pecan ice cream. All were very happy with their choices. We make a point of coming to Kilwin's whenever we visit Dahlonega. It is so delightful and clean and the staff is always super friendly! They offer a massive list of options and they're more than happy to let you sample whatever you'd like before you settle on what it is you want. We ordered the blueberry waffle cone in a waffle cone And the chocolate coconut in the dish. The nostalgia of blueberry ice cream hit my heart with every lick. It was so incredibly good! Everything we purchased here was so delicious! We grabbed caramels, chocolate truffles, bagged peanut brittle. I could have gotten one piece or one of everything and would have been perfectly happy either way! It's all so delicious! The items are given to you with such care too. The truffles were wrapped in a box. I saw a customer order a caramel apple and they cut it for them so they could share with a friend. The employees were so incredibly kind as well. There was an employee that was being patient with a dad's two young kids trying to decide what flavor of ice cream they wanted. The prices are very reasonable too compared to other local shops and surrounding cities. They also have deals every so often. The day we went they had BOGO. I should be embarrassed to admit how many times we went to Kilwin's during our recent 5 days in Dahlonega, but I'm not. Not at all. Every day we did something (i.e. walking from the car, not tripping a sibling in the crosswalk) that earned a warm waffle cone crammed with Cappuccino Chocolate Chip or Marshmallow S'mores. One day we went twice, and that was only because we were too stuffed with ice cream and caramel apples to get off the couch and go a third time. We wanted to, though. My children may never eat a regular apple sans caramel and chocolate again, but their entrepreneurial spirit was kindled by trying to figure out where we could open a Kilwin's in our hometown. In a few days when the delightful Kilwin's aroma fades from our memory and the last of our stockpiled apple slices are gone, we just might figure it out...or drive back to Dahlonega. IDK. read more

I have been to many Kilwins locations but nothing like this one, their service sets this place in a whole other level! No matter how busy they are they have time to greet you, smile, be nice, fun and even explain you how they prepare things! We enjoyed all the products we bought (ice cream, fudge, chocolate and marshmallows) but the experience of being at the store was the best part! The guy making the waffle cones took the time to explain my son how to make it step by step and answer all his questions and gave him a taste of a freshly made one! I've been to Kilwins locations in several states. This location, is by far, the best. The folks working are very friendly and give generous scoops of ice cream. The ice cream is high quality and tastes great. The store is clean and has a few chairs inside and outside for you to enjoy your ice cream. I come here each time I visit Dahlonega. read more

We were enjoying the day walking around the shops in Dahlonega and decided we needed a little snack! :) If you love chocolate, you will love Kilwins! There's something for everyone! They had a special on caramel apples (buy one get one free)! So i took those home for my son who loves caramel. I picked up a slice of very yummy chocolate/peanut butter fudge - very very delicious! They had lots of options to pick from. I brought my husband a few little chocolate pieces from their selection. I was hoping to find a variety milk chocolate options already boxed up that i could easily grab it and go, but did not see those. Also, i would have loved to have had a red "candy apple", but all they offer is caramel. I guess I have to wait for the fair to come to town - Lol ! This location also serves ice cream! Located in the main town square , this chocolate store is an important stop on our way through Dahlonega always. The proprietor greeted us warmly this morning and offered to tell us about the sweet selections. We selected my favorite nonpareils, sea foam (haven't tried? Melt in your mouth goodness) and grabbed a hard to find toasted coconut ice cream cone. Quote of our trip today was "the waffle cone was so fresh!" Yes, explains it all. read more

Good management practices are apparent the minute you walk in the door of the Dahlonega Kilwins. They are brilliantly open long past all the other fudge, candy and ice cream shops so the logical place to go after dinner is KILWINS! We had the pleasure of visiting this chocolate shop twice last weekend. The immediate impression was wow! What smells so good?! It's most likely the waffle cones! Next, we got to chat with the Manager, Jack, who was probably the most impressive person we met this trip. He was a great ambassador for both Kilwins and Dahlonega in general. He suggested great chocolates and made recommendations for resturants and places to visit.
