Planned a get together for about 15 people here for our son's graduation. The tables were ready and clean. The waitress, Karen, is clearly a pro and handled everything perfectly. They have a great selection of beer on tap, but don't overlook the cocktails. I highly recommend the Warrior Queen Bee Mule. The Curry Chips are amazing...fries smothered in Irish Curry sauce. All of the food was terrific. Fresh and hot. From fish and chips to the vegetarian boxty to the shepherd's pie. All in all, a friendly place and a great choice for dinner or get togethers! read more

This review is just about Happy Hour at Killarney House. We had time on a Thursday afternoon, and were driving back to Annapolis from Bowie. Their happy hour specials just can't be beat! From 3 to 6 on weekdays, a tall glass of Smithwick is only $4.50. The pot roast sliders were AMAZING, for $5. We also shared a chicken quesadilla for $6, which was quite tasty. Three beers and two very filling appetizers and the bill only came to $26. This will now become a regular stop on our "afternoon off" rotation. We may have to think of reasons to go to Davidsonville just for these HH specials. read more

We stopped here on the way home from the marina. Great pub atmosphere with terrific Irish beers on tap. They were really busy for Sunday brunch but our food came out quickly. We got the pot roast and shepherds pie. It was delicious but nothing special to make it a must have again. We stopped at the Killarney House with family Friday for lunch. It was a great choice. When you are surrounded by seafood restaurants, it's a nice change. From drinks to the food, it was delicious. The soda bread was dense and yummy. The stuffed potato cakes were out of this world. My pot roast was cooked to perfection. The vegetables would use some seasoning and less time in the steamer but if I am basing my overall review on a side item, we have an issue. My husband had the fish and chips and he finished everything. The fish looked big and flakey. Just like it should for fish and chips. Don't forget the deserts. We didn't!! read more

Went at very busy time. Were told we had to shuttle from Greenstreet Gardens, but there were several places to park at restaurant. Mind you, we had handicap tag and 2 handicap people with us. This was a great restaurant for an Irish Pub . Our party ordered Stew, Fish and Chips, Sherpards Pie, and many of the appetizers (cauliflower, mussels, pork belly, and corned beef rolls). The corned beef and cabbage was perfectly prepared and nicely accompanied with champ and a carrot/parsnip mash along with a great Irish whole grain mustard. Hot damn this place is a solid FIVE STARS! We were passing by Davidsonville and decided to try Killarney house- absolutely no regrets. It was the perfect restaurant experience ever. Irish food, sometimes one may think bland but no so here. The beet salad was so fresh and mouth watering delicious. For main course the Shepherds Pie was cooked to perfection! Soft fluffy mashed potatoes, with warm succulent flavorful stew hiding underneath. The price was reasonable for the quality. The decor is rustic with original antique Irish cupboards brought to Davidsonville by the owners. The staff was just lovely. There is also a bar with live music. I want to just move in.. such a homey and warm feeling. Fresh food cooked exquisitely in a beautiful atmosphere. We will be back for sure! read more

Couldn't wait to finally visit this restaurant. I know it's been around for quite a while. But we are never in the area. Reservations went through without any hiccup. Everyone was super friendly. We never waited long for anything and all the food came out perfect and was delicious. We had a great time. I'm taking away one star because They pass on the 3.1% credit card charge on to the customers. As I agree doing this with small businesses, I feel that this one that is thriving for so long, I feel the restaurant could easily absorb that fee. This restaurant has been on my radar for a few months but because it's an hour away from my home it took awhile to schedule a visit. During a trip to Annapolis today we stopped in on our way home at lunch time. The interior is fairly large and is divided into two halves, a restaurant on the left and a bar on the right. The restaurant is spacious with high ceilings but it's fairly dark inside. And as you might expect from an Irish restaurant, the menu covers all The usual suspects. You can get corned beef, bangers and mash, pasties, a typical Irish breakfast served all day long, corned beef poppers, Pat Murphy's pot roast and of course Guinness on tap. I went for the shepherd's pie which was excellent, while my wife had a very interesting chicken noodle soup and a side salad. all of the food was great and the service was excellent. Prices were reasonable and two of us managed to dine there for about $30. my rating system as always is three stars for restaurants to which I would return, four stars for restaurants at which I would like to be a regular, and five stars for restaurants to which I would drive out of my way. Now that I've been to Killarney House I'm sure I'll drive back many times in the future. read more

We wander Edgewater many weekends of the summer. We have driven by Kilarney House about 40 times so far. Probably more than that. We've said several times we should stop there for lunch. So, we did! My co-foodie had the broccoli cheese soup (I know, its embarrassing, I told people she was with the next table over).! We shared the crab dip. I think crab dip is the most Maryland thing, I love every variety i've tried, this one was top of the mark! for entrees we had the turkey Ruben (with coleslaw, not Sauer kraut) Fish and Chips. I will let you guess who had what. Actually I will tell you, after the embarrassing order of Broccoli Cheese soup she followed that with a Rueben without Sauer Kraut. We stopped here for dinner after a day of sailing down at Selby Bay. We were exhausted, and kinda grubby, so we wanted something casual. The pub/restaurant area was not crowded (it was Mother's Day, and there were clearly some moms being celebrated, but I guess taking your mom to the pub is not a first choice). My teenage boys both had the lamb stew, and I had the fish and chips. All our food was excellent, and the service was friendly and prompt. This was our first time at the Killarney House and let's just say it felt like we were apart of the family! The fire place, the lovely music, the warm, diverse atmosphere - WOW! They are obviously taking covid very seriously which is refreshing. The service was top notch, friendly, informative and super attentive. The food - again, WOW! Hot, fresh and totally delicious. Now.... on to Oliver... he gave us a taste of whiskey cream (not exactly sure what it was) but it came straight from Ireland, delicious. But that's not all, he talked to us like old friends. I teared up.... maybe because of the whiskey or maybe because of the kindness and warmth he showed us. We left knowing we will return and with family and friends. Kind of odd at first when you arrive and there is barely any parking available on a Saturday night in the suburbs but it must just speak to the quality of food that this place is serving up! I ordered their seafood platter and was SO looking forward to pigging out on fresh annapolis crab cakes, but was met with disappointment sadly. I had been told 20 minutes into our order that they had "run out" - how sad, so I went for the steak instead which actually was not that bad. It's the night before St. Patrick's day, and I have a horrible craving for corned beef and cabbage. My wife doesn't feel like going out (especially with the expected crowds), but is ok with carry-out. So we browse through Yelp, and find Killarney House, an Irish Pub in Davidsonville, Maryland. This place is in the middle of nowhere. The food is to die for. Some of the best potato leek soup I've ever eaten, with pieces of leek and chunks of potato in a thick soup. The corned beef was tender, lean and flavorful, and the Irish whole grain mustard served on the side was sinus-searing deliciousness. The cabbage was sweet and tender, and the carrot mash and potato's were wonderful. The staff, on their second-busiest night of the year were jovial and friendly, and the bar intimate and comfortable as an old shoe. They need a new chef and better quality ingredients. This place used to be reliably good but that was several years ago.

My dad, who is very tough to please, and very rarely chooses to go out for dinner, will almost always decide to come here when he does go out. If that isn't enough of a five-star review, then I will continue, but he's one of the toughest critics I know. This is a stand-by favorite of ours, a constant source of quality dining and a friendly atmosphere. We tend to avoid the noise and clatter of the bar area, though on occasion we have spent some time frequenting that space as well. Generally, though, we stick to the main dining area, where it is markedly quieter, and quite intimate, though it can get a trifle noisy on busier evenings. Typically, we go there for dinner, and usually for a nicer night out. This isn't the most expensive place you can find, and you can also get away for dinner under $15 (heck, even under $12 depending on what you're looking for). They really shine on all courses, too, which isn't always easy to find. One of my all-time favorites are their soups, which are consistently high-quality and delicious. They have daily rotating soups, but we generally stick to either of the two constant offerings: the potato and leek, or the Irish whiskey and tomato. The former is chock full of flavor, with plenty of potato and leek both to inundate the entire soup. This hearty offering could be a meal in and of itself! The latter is a tad spicy, with strong notes of black pepper and onion. I personally prefer the tomato, but both have won my heart over. All of their first course options are pretty darn solid, though. The scallops are of particular interest, as they are a good example of how to perfectly cook this mollusk. The corned beef "sushi" (wraps or rolls or whatever they call them) are corned beef and mashed potato bites wrapped in cabbage and presented with an Irish mustard sauce. This dish could also stand on its own as an entree. We haven't been disappointed by an appetizer there yet. As for entrees, they do an incredible job with the standard favorites, such as shepherd's pie, cottage pie, corned beef and cabbage, cockles and mussels, and fish and chips. My personal favorite and stand-by is the Irish Mixed Grill, which is basically a 'full Irish' breakfast essentially. It is served with two eggs, chips (fries), grilled tomato, black and white puddings, sausage, and a rasher of bacon. It is an incredible amount of food and is currently priced at an astounding $13.99 for the entire dish! It used to come with a lamb chop and was priced at $16.99, but I think I prefer the more scaled back version, as much as I miss the lamb. This restaurant is part of a group run by two brothers from Ireland, who came to the Annpolis area to open up their first restaurant. At last check, they are up to four very successful and popular locations, three in the Annapolis region, and one up in Massachusetts. With consistent quality and passion witnessed by their existing locations, you can probably bank on them expanding further down the road. Did you know they import a lot of their ingredients themselves, including the flour used to bake their Irish soda bread in house? Yeah... that's dedication in my eyes. We have had brunch there once, and it was definitely worth it. The omelets alone were worth the price, but the other offerings were equally as fantastic as one might expect. The time and energy they put into this place is evident all around. Most folks I know that have done brunch there rave about the epxerience, as well. Overall, this is one of the best restaurants that we consistently go to. As affordable as it is, we can do so without feeling so guilty about it. As authentic and delicious as it is, we know we're getting a quality experience every time, as well. If you're in the neighborhood, stop on by and see what all the buzz is about! N.B. We had our rehearsal dinner here, which ended up serving about 16 guests. They provided a very diverse menu at a very afforable price, which was both fitting for the occasion (from a hospitality and heart-warming standpoint), and a great advertisement for everyone who joined us, too! Went in on a Friday night and was surprised that we were seated immediately. Started off with the Deep fried corned beef appetizer, and was the opposite of disappointed. What a flavor combo! While I had the Shepherd's Pie, and was thoroughly amazed, the other offerings looked appetizing as well, making my choices from the limited menu (a sign of the times) difficult. Everything looked and sounded appetizing. Our server was attentive and friendly without being overly intrusive. The decor is very pub-like, with lots of comfortable seating, even with the reduced table count. Parking isn't bad, at least when some person doesn't take up 6 parking spaces with their truck and boat trailer. I look forward to my next visit! read more
