I drove by this place so many times finally decided to try it out. The service is great. The food was ok and I say that because to me didn't seem like it was fresh. The tuna pieces had lots of vain and not enough rice at the bottom. The edamame was dry like it was microwaved. My favorite thing to eat is sushi is the cooked ill hand roll and that really wasn't good too fatty and I couldn't bite into the seaweed roll. It's too stretchy.

    Black cod miso

Food was good quality. We ordered two dishes--a Dynamite roll and black cod miso--for two people and it was enough food. The black cod was a little two sweet. It tasted more like a Korean-Japanese fusion dish and not really authentically Japanese. The Kabocha--Japanese squash--that came with it was fresh and delicious. It also came with a salad and miso soup; both good. The dynamite sushi roll was spicy as specified. Next time, I'll try something else. They allow you to bring your own drink and there's no corkage fee. That saves a little money.

Delicious food. Super fresh sushi. The black cod tempura is outstanding. Nice location as well.

I've been coming here on and off for years, and the fish is consistently fresh. One of my go-to orders is the kaisen futo-maki, a 5-piece roll packed with an assortment of raw fish. It's simple, clean, slightly on the pricier side, but worth it in my opinion. The staff have always been friendly, though there typically only seems to be one or two sushi chefs working. During peak hours, that can mean a bit of a wait for your food, so I recommend avoiding the lunch or dinner rush whenever possible.

Heard about this place on check please and it didn't disappoint. They close between 3pm-5pm. We got there at 2:30pm and they still sat us and didn't rush us at all. Our server was very welcoming and friendly, and checked on us regularly. It was relatively quiet, only one other table, but it gave a family restaurant vibe. The lunch specials were a great deal. The quantity of the sashimi at that price was a deal and the quality was great. The miso black cod was also very tasty, one of the better I've had. They also have a lot of vegan options on the menu.

Kiku is such a delight every time. The fish is always so fresh and tender, and the flavor is great! We've gone a million times and there's never a dip in quality. The service is awesome and it's such a nice space! This time, I got the miso black cod lunch bento, and it was delicious! (Obviously.) The cod was so meaty and had a nice miso flavor. The sushi was half California roll and half Dynamite, both great! The meal came with so much food which was an added bonus! I highly recommend popping in midday for the lunch special pricing, it's really a great deal for great food.

Tiny place with no air circulation. I guess I should've ordered sushi because steak teriyaki wasn't very flavorful.

Something I always like to start off with on their menu is their hot chai tea. It's hot and creamy with just the right amount of warm spices on a cold day in the winter. It also wakes me right up. Everything that we've ordered has been delicious, esp. the nimki chaat, dal, and spicy tofu. Their papad is also tasty and great for snacking if you're not too hungry. The service is always great, whether they are busy or not. Food always comes out promptly and they always check upon us to make sure everything is alright. I've spent hours at this place catching up with my friend, even after we're done eating, and they've never hinted at us to leave :) Highly recommend if you're looking for a cozy spot with amazing food and great staff.

I ordered the Nimki Chaat because I'd seen it mentioned several times in reviews. It was a fun, tasty starter--too much for one person, but I'd definitely order it again with a group. For my entrée, I ordered the chicken tandoori tiki kebab. The chicken was high quality, flavorful, and didn't have that red dye you see in so much tandoori chicken. I ordered it medium spicy, but it wasn't really spicy at all. Still, it was very good. I'm more of a curry person, though, because I love having sauce to dip my naan in and enjoy with rice. The dish came with a small green salad, raita, and rice. I also ordered the garlic naan, which was really, really good--thin, crispy, and pillowy all at once. I couldn't taste a lot of garlic, but I never really can at any Indian restaurant. Before my meal arrived, I was served a cup of dal soup, which was quite nice. I usually find lentil soup watery and boring, but this one was flavorful and satisfying. I look forward to going back and trying a curry dish and the momo.

As I said, I love the idea of this place and really want it to succeed. Especially at its new Solano location. I spend lots of time on Solano because I live and work nearby. And I eat out often. UPDATE 5/13/26: I forgot to mention yesterday in my review that I liked the portion sizes. I disagree with the people who say the portions are too small. Most restaurants, in my opinion, give us too much food, which I think contributes to the obesity epidemic. (And I don't exclude myself from that afflicted population.) To those who say that it's too expensive for the amount of food you get, I say that operating a restaurant that prepares and serves healthy, fresh food and pays its staff well is an expensive enterprise. I support them in their endeavor and hope they will succeed. 5/12/26: I love the idea of this place, and I like the ambience (although the wooden benches are pretty hard and could use some cushions -- but I know that likely goes against their "keep it simple and easy to clean" aesthetic). So, I was excited about all the healthy gluten-free options on the menu and excited to eat here for the first time today. But I am not impressed so far. I did a BYO BOWL. The Picadillo beef sounded so good in the description! But it tasted like the dry ground beef from a cheap taco. (I thought it was going to be chunks of beef in a deliciously seasoned broth!) The fingerling potatoes and sweet potatoes were dry and pretty nondescript. The wild rice blend was OK. Given how dry and tasteless (or unpleasant in the case of the ground beef) everything (other than the rice) was, it was impossible to improve it all with the small amount of dressing that comes in a separate container. (I chose jalapeño lime dressing, and liked it a lot.) I will return and try other things on the menu because I'm so excited about the menu being gluten-free and using such healthy ingredients. I will update my journey with this restaurant as it continues. The service, by the way, was lovely. The music is calming and beautiful. I appreciate the (what I think are) big, acoustic sound-absorbing "tiles" on the ceiling. They are even making bearable the screaming toddlers who recently came in. (I'm glad their parents are feeding them healthy food.)
