Round 2, coming back for good value and good sushi. Came at a off hour, 2pm and the restaurant was…read morequiet. Tempura Bento - Came with miso soup, salad, California roll, 2 gyozas, rice, 2 shrimp and 4 pc veggies. They must have given more before because there was alot of empty space in this bento. Gyoza skins were hard pretty terrible to chew on. Tempura was nice, crispy and came out hot. California roll was pretty standard. In all a decent set. Torched sushi Unagi and hotate - 3 blocks of rice with a bit of unagi and scallop on top. It felt a bit unbalanced and expensive for what it is. Would not recommend.

I would probably just order salmon belly and white tuna separately instead. Cost wise per piece seems pretty good on the sashimi dinner though compared to their party trays. Ordered their torched sushi (eel and scallop on top). It looks good and I could see them torching it, but it wasn't worth it. I'd rather try their soft shell crab. My partner ordered tempura, and that was tasty. We came at 3pm on a weekday and were the only ones there, so service was fine. The place is a little older, but seems they have updated fixtures and also have space heaters for your comfort.

Finally had a chance to dine in at the Woodbine location for a weekday lunch and I must say, I was…read morejust as impressed with the quality of fish here. I've frequented their Sheppard location only and this was my first time visiting this more spacious location with a small dining area. The lunches were reasonably priced for the quality of the fish and we enjoyed the salmon 3 ways don and the lunch sushi set that came with assortment of nigiri sushi and mini dons that were so cute! We added miso and side salad for added cost, but it was well worth it. Also took home a sushi for 2 and some sashimi (cut to order) and this dinner was also exceptional. Taro's will continue to be my go-to for fresh fish and now I have a great casual dine-in spot as well.

The space is bright, spacious, and finally offers something I've always wished for -- a proper sit‑in area where you can enjoy your food on the spot or order takeout to go. Beyond the dine‑in option, the selection here is fantastic. The Japanese grocery section is impressively stocked, with everything from pantry staples to harder‑to-find items. They even carry a wide range of sake, plus other Japanese alcoholic and non‑alcoholic beverages, which makes it easy to pick up something special for dinner at home. My personal highlight is the sashimi‑grade fish. The quality is consistently excellent, and I love packing up a few pieces to make my own donburi at home. It's fresh, clean, and honestly rivals what you'd get at many restaurants. If you're a fan of Japanese food -- whether you're cooking, snacking, or dining in -- this new Taro's Fish location is absolutely worth the visit.

We came here because of the reviews on Google, and like a lot of people have mentioned, parking is…read morefairly difficult. There are only about 4 to 5 spots in the front, and while there are some smaller plaza parking lots nearby and another parking lot across the street, most of the spots are marked for whatever store they're in front of, so park at your own risk. Upon entering, there aren't that many tables either. There isn't a lot of room for bigger groups but they can merge some of the tables together. The biggest issue for us was definitely how long and uneven the wait for the food was. We ordered at 12:15 PM and got our salads about 10 minutes later, but after that, the food came out pretty sporadically. The first actual dish didn't come until 12:44 PM, which was the tempura from the two-person set. Parts of the other meals and the rest of the two-person set slowly came out between 12:46 and 12:49 PM. The 30-piece sashimi and sushi set didn't arrive until 1:04 PM, almost 50 minutes after we ordered, and the actual salmon teriyaki which was just a small salad, salmon teriyaki and steamed rice from the bento was the last thing to come out at 1:09 PM, about 54 minutes after ordering. By that point, we had already finished the entire two-person set and another person had finished their udon and sushi combo. It's just not ideal when you're eating with a group and some people haven't even gotten the main part of their meal while everyone else is already finished. It also didn't seem like it was only our table. The table in front of us had a pasta order that seemed to have been missed. We heard the server say it was about to be ready, and then heard someone from the kitchen respond with something along the lines of, "There's another order for it?" So I do think the timing and communication between the kitchen and servers is something they need to improve on. We were served our salads first, but didn't get our miso soups until we asked for them. They were planning to serve them with the meals, but since we had already been waiting so long, we ended up just asking if we could have them first. For food, I got the two-person lunch set for $52, which came with a large veggie udon, 9 pieces of sashimi, 6 pieces of sushi, an additional 6 pieces of a classic roll, and tempura. We chose the spicy scallop maki for our roll. The sushi and sashimi were good, and the tempura was good as well. The veggie udon was a little disappointing though. It had one bok choy, a few pieces of mushroom, and then was mostly just strands of onion. The spicy scallop maki was also just okay since I couldn't really taste much scallop. Price-wise, I do think it's a little on the higher side for what you get. The quality was good overall, but for the price I would've liked a little more, especially considering the wait. Between how difficult parking is and how long and unevenly the food came out, I'm not really in any hurry to return. I think the wait bothered me more because we were eating as a group, and by the time two people finally got their food, the rest of us were completely finished. If they can improve the timing of getting everyone's meals out somewhat together, it would make the experience a lot better. 5% off with cash.

My favorite was the torched salmon belly, I haven't had that in a chirashi bowl before. I also liked the seasoning of the rice. My friends ordered the miki dinner and it came with amazing variety.
