We started to go to Kidstown Dental about 6 months ago. We moved to this place as they offer a program for children with special needs. My son is on the spectrum and was held down several times at previous provider leaving him traumatized. At Kidstown dental they offer practice appointments for a very reasonable price to let your child to get used to the dental environment and tools, etc. While at previous provider we hardly even managed to get a normal check up done here we got several things accomplished. At the beginning my son was worried and did not co-operate much but as we went for several practice appointments he got used to the place, doctors and tools. In the past 6 weeks we accomplished more than ever. He had one tooth with cavity, which has been treated, we got several x-rays done, he allowed then to clean his teeth and use the sucky tube (removing water from his mouth) which was never an option before and we got all his back molars sealed. No laughing gas was necessary. I can only praise and recommend this place to everyone! read more

I am SUPER disappointed in an experience I had at this local pediatric dentist. I took both of my kids in for their cleanings last month. I had sent them my insurance beforehand. Once at the appointment, we had X-rays and a cleaning. As we were walked out of the exam area to checkout, it was explained to me that we needed to pay for services upfront and my insurance would send me a check to reimburse me. They said it so casually as if it would be for the same amount. Because it was Dr. L herself who explained this to me, I completely trusted her even though it seemed odd that I'd need to pay and then wait for a check from insurance. No one had mentioned this when I'd made the appointment initially. Because I'd brought my infant to her a year before and had a good experience, I didn't ask more questions but should have. I paid nearly $700 for their cleaning and xrays under the pretense that our insurance would reimburse us for that amount. No cavities, no complications, just a very straightforward cleaning for a 5 and 7 year old. Received the check for reimbursement and it was for just $300! I called the billing department at the dentist and asked for clarification, and asked why I hadn't been warned or told that this could happen. They basically said that my insurance is out of network and they aren't able to see what the insurance will pay before they charge me. When I asked why I wasn't told beforehand, they said that prior to new training some employees may "not have been comfortable" or adequately prepared to have that conversation. ‍ To clarify, I CERTAINLY understand that when an insurance is out of network that means it may not all be covered. But when I called them to ask about scheduling from the beginning, they asked me to send my insurance and said all was well and to bring the kids in. I really truly hate to give any business a bad rating, but I'm simply leaving it so that other parents will do their due diligence before just paying so much money when another provider could offer them services at 100% coverage. Our family is out a huge chunk of money (almost $400) that, according to them, cannot be adjusted. read more

We took our 3 week old daughter here for a tongue & lip tie evaluation and treatment. It was a group appointment & while we didn't know what to expect from this format of appointment, we were pleasantly surprised. We were really impressed with the entire experience. They are thorough and take you through a lot of education & also give detailed aftercare instructions (including demonstrations). Dr. Amy is really nice and also professional. The staff are knowledgeable. We have dental insurance, so for the frenectomies (tongue/lip tie revision procedures) we paid the office & the office then submitted a claim to the insurance. We just heard back & turns out our insurance (Delta Dental) covered both procedures! So Dr. Amy's office will be sending us a refund check. read more

900th review - whew! Dr. Amy diagnosed and treated my 3 week old daughter's tongue and lip ties. They were interfering with breastfeeding, so J and I were really grateful to have the two frenectomies (aka frenotomies) done. The oral restriction appointments are done in a group setting, so overall it can take 2-2.5 hours -- on our particular Wednesday, there were 5 patients (and their respective parent(s)) in the group. We were the last one to be treated, so for us it actually took about 3 hours. We were very impressed with how thorough and excellent the whole team was! Dr. Amy examined and diagnosed the ties, and following application of topical anesthetic she used a laser to release the ties. Lactation consultant Rosalba did patient education and demonstrations of the therapies and stretches and aftercare. Elaina (not sure of the spelling) did osteopathic evaluation and bodywork/gentle manipulation to address imbalances and tightness. We haven't gone for our follow-up appointment yet, but if it's anything like the initial appointment then I'm sure we will be well taken care of & all our questions will be addressed. read more

I really do not like to go on Yelp and post reviews like this but I am at my wits end with Kidstown Dental. My 4-year-old son was seen by Dr. Garrett for a tongue release consult and we agree to do a frenectomy the following week. We had a plan of care and I felt very good about Dr. Garrett. When we showed up on the day of the procedure, Dr. Garrett was nowhere in sight and a doctor introducing herself as Dr. Delgado comes in to do the frenectomy. She had never met my son and didn't take two seconds to speak to him or myself. Halfway through the procedure, he starts screaming that he is in pain. Dr. Delgado simply insisted that it was not possible because he was numb and continued while I and the assistant held him down so she could finish. She looked thoroughly annoyed and impatient and did nothing to comfort him. It was horrifying. After we got home and I had time to process it all, I called the office to tell them that I was uncomfortable with the care we had received and I did not want to continue any treatment with this practice. I had pre-paid for the entire myo brace system and they agreed to refund all but $500 of it- around $3100. We are now six weeks past the agreed upon refund. Only after threatening with both Yelp and BBB did I even get a return phone call and a promise that the check would arrive. Two weeks later, no check and radio silence has brought me to this point. After I post this review, my next is to the Better Business Bureau. I'm hoping they will make this right- but buyer be warned in the meantime. read more

Kidstown Dental is one of the most frustrating doctor's offices I have ever visited. They have changed and moved my children's appointments without consulting me. They have told me to expect information within 2 weeks that I still have not received (7 months later, and I have called to inquire). They tell you that you need additional services before they will do a procedure, but do not follow up and leave you to figure it out on your own. I have jumped through hoops to do what I felt like was expected of me as a client, and I don't feel like I should have to do that. I will say that the dentists have always been kind to me and my kids, and I do feel like they are knowledgable and produce good results if you, as the client, are willing to put in the work and effort. However, the lack of communication and follow through has left a sour taste in my mouth. read more

We have been long time clients of Kidstown dental. We have always enjoyed going there but had an insurance change. As the kids got older and the practice grew we felt less of a valued client but more of just another mouth the clean. The practice pushes unnecessary appliances. We have never seen reason to overspend and there was no follow up about it. We also noticed a lot of turnover before and after covid which left the practice lacking the person-ability we enjoyed in the early years of being there. So once our insurance changed I called and canceled the remainder of our appointments. Our last appointment was July 19,2021. I was never informed of outstanding bills or final payments. Apparently they sent an email in Nov 2021 to me ( which I never received) with a bill. I was contacted july 28, 2022 by email asking me to schedule my children's overdue appointments. I responded that we are no longer clients due to an insurance change. I then received 3 emails, 2 text messages, and 2 phone calls to collect payment of delinquent account and was asked to call the office. Upon looking closer, I noticed a $25 credit on the date of the harassing calls and texts which seemed a little convenient due to their over site of not collecting payment. I have no problem paying a bill once I receive it however it took more than a year to receive the bill which is totally unacceptable. I would say proceed with extreme caution with this billing and make sure you keep a check on your account with them. They really need to get back to the caring office they used to be. Truly disappointed in how they handled our departure. read more

Everyone is very sweet, caring and accommodating here! They did not rush me, even though I had a long list of questions. They were very thorough in explaining everything to me. I appreciated the assistant and Dr. Rachel's authenticity and patience in being gentle with examing my toddler. I would highly recommend this practice for all children's dental needs! My toddler loved the kid-friendly toys in the waiting room and then getting a toy treat to play with at the end. It's the little things like this that make what could be a rough trip, easy! The only thing that could have been better is the wait time even though we had an appointment scheduled. It's tricky trying to keep a toddler entertained while waiting to be seen. But our positive experience here was well worth the wait! I'm sure they were just taking their time with other patients, which I can understand because they did the same for us. read more

I made an appointment for my daughter because she has a tongue tie. We went in for the appt and the dentist said she does have it but she is too young for anesthesia so the procedure can not be done. When they check us out I was asked to pay 85$ because they did not take her dental insurance. I was never informed about this when I made the appt nor when we check in for our appt. They still billed her insurance for another 150$. This is a very shady practice, please be careful before booking your kids appt here. read more

We were told by Advantage Dentist in Humble that my 4yo needed 3 silver teeth and one filling. Since we had seen other dentists prior to this every six months and had no issues I felt like we needed a second opinion. Thank God for that thought! Dr.Luedemann did xrays at no charge since those we brought were of poor quality & hard to interpret. She also examined my daughter and confirmed no cavities. Horrible experience. To start they never told me they don't take my insurance and when I called about my bill she told me "nobody is new is the office so they always know to tell people we don't contract with any insurance companies". Second they told me my daughter is tongue tied and wanted to laser for $700. Thankfully I was told by my dentist it's a huge money maker for dentists so I should get second opinion. I took my daughter to ENT at Texas children's and he confirmed her tongue was NOT tied at all and functioning properly. (Side note she has no issues talking or latched fine for 18months!) it makes me sick to my stomach knowing I was going to do something like laser her tongue because I thought it was the right thing todo. read more

Dr. Luedamann is simply amazing. She has been my kids dentist since they were babies and preformed my son's frenectomy. She's incredibly knowledgeable in ties and I recommend her often to friends! The whole practice is amazing with my kids and they monitor everything from bite, airways, myofacial development etc. not only are they incredibly thorough, everyone in the office is kind and helpful. We've recently moved about an hour away but I plan to travel to her for my kids' appointments forever. read more

I love this place! The staff is wonderful from the time you walk in to the moment you leave. Trying to get 3 young children through dental appointments at one time used to be stressful but not anymore. I've never had a bad experience here. It was our first time seeing Dr. Delgado today and she was excellent. She took her time with us and answered my questions thoroughly. I took my 6 yr old, 4 yr old and 2 yr old here for cleaning/check-up. They were amazing with my kids and explained things to them in their language. Even the two year old. They saved me while I was speaking to the dentist about the xrays/results of check-up by entertaining the younger two with silly dentist toys. The dentist was thorough in explaining different "caution areas" and was very informative. The older one did have a small cavity and I had no trouble making an apt for the following week to get the work done. And to add to their praise, I had an apt at 950 for my 6 yr old that I switched the day before and the other two werent until 2pm. They offered to see them all bc of a cancellation so I wouldn't have to come back later in the day!!! So very helpful! read more

We love coming to Kidstown Dental! My older boys have never had an issue with teeth cleanings and are not apprehensive about visits. They love picking out the glasses and going to the treasure box. I did observe a first visit for a little girl 4-5 years old and the hygienist was so kind and patient. I just thought I would really appreciate that if my kids were ever scared. Everyone is great from front office to the Dr. We are seen right on time and they have fun toys, books and movies to keep my little one occupied. I definitely recommend! read more

Each time we have been here we've had billing issues. This last time I felt like the dentist and hygienist were better with their bedside manner with the kids than other times we've been here, but that's not saying much. I didn't like that the dentist and hygienist would whisper to each other and I'd have to constantly ask for explanations. This happened bath at our consult and at our treatment appointment. They did certain things without even consulting me. Kept forcing a mouth piece in one of my child's mouth that they kept coking on. Finally took it out and tried a different approach after me having to insist multiple times. They didn't even do full treatment on one of my kids. At the treatment appointment they did a very poor job explaining what we would be paying for and charged me for 2 things I had the understanding were not being done. So frustrated with being over charged here multiple times and you have to really fight with them to be charged the correct amount and to get explanations. It seems like this dental office has no problem with cheating people out of money!! We will not be back. There are SO many pediatric dentist and ones much closer to our house. I doubt we will ever get our money back we were overcharged. I hope we do get it back! read more

Kidstown Dental is perhaps one of the most professional, nurturing, caring, attentive and cutting-edge experiences I have ever experienced with a health provider. Every single staff member makes me and my kids feel like we are the only patient they see! The welcoming feeling starts over each phone call, each time I walk in and see the smiling front desk and with the hygienists (Courtney!) and of course the doctors. I couldn't believe the amount of time both Dr.Ludemon and Dr. Romero spent talking with me and examining my son. Yes! BOTH looked at him! We always have a great visit at Kidstown Dental. We never have to wait for more than 5 minutes. They always explain what to expect including any cost associated upfront. You can wait in the room or patient waiting area. The office is very bright and doesn't feel you're in the dentist office which I'm sure puts kids mind at ease. At the end of the procedure, they always consult and give their recommendations. Another great thing that I find very convenient is that the person who is assisting is also the person who can check you out by processing the payment and making follow up appointment. Over all, great place, I wish they had this place when I was a kid! read more

Took my son today and had a wonderful experience. Making an appointment was simple. Reminders were sent (call+text). Checking in was easy (iPad) while my son was entertained in the waiting area with the toys that kept his mind busy. Everything moved pretty quickly. Stephanie was very thorough in explaining the process and what to expect. Please note: My son is everything but "easy" when it comes to cooperating, as you would expect from a 2.5 y/o. This is also why we came here in the first place, we needed a "no judgement" location.. We saw Dr Amy Luedemann and you can really tell she cares about her team, patients and practice. She too was very patient with my son and had some tricks to working with my kiddo. I took my daughter (3 years old) to Dr. Amy in January. My daughter has had bad experiences with her former pediatric dentist and as a result is now petrified to be seen my any dentist. Since Kidstown Dental opened up in my neighborhood, I decided to take my daughter to Kidstown Dental. When we walked in to Kidstown Dental, automatically we were impressed by the aesthetics of the entire office and front office staff. We were welcomed and felt the sense of warmth just waiting in lobby. The office is a very lovely facility and even my daughter was impressed with the restroom and stated " the soap even smells like chocolate." The rest of the visit went very smoothly and Dr. Amy spent a tremendous amount of time with my daughter and also my husband and I educating us on toddler teeth. I felt informed as a parent and never rushed on how to fight cavities and what types of snacks to avoid based on our family risk factors for cavities. Since Dr. Amy knew of my daughter's past history, Dr. Amy and her staff made my daughter feel very safe and comfortable and recommended that we bring our daughter several times to the office to "hang out" before her actual visit where she would get some work done. After my visit, Dr. Amy was so much a professional that I will entrust her with the most important little person in my life. read more
