Although I was only there for a consultation, he asked if he could remove some plague that he noticed during the exam (I had a cleaning at my previous dental office 2 weeks before). I said yes and he removed it painlessly. I returned for a cleaning about 2 months later and he hand scaled my teeth due to the pain I reported from that water shooting demon that was used at my previous dental office. My cleaning was painless for the first time in years! Lastly, he noticed that my bite was off and shaved down my back molar slightly and the problem was solved. I had complained about my bite for years and none of the other providers addressed it. He noticed the problem without me telling him and offered to fix it. This has been the best experience I have ever had as an adult with a dental provider.

Lack of transparency and follow-up on payment information -- I've requested copies of the payment forms I signed eight times (once in person, multiple times by email, phone, and voicemail). Despite this, I've still not received any documentation or clear communication around fees--for orthodontic and dental work. 2. I never had any issues like cavitaties and my visits were always preventative in nature. So why is Lathrop so special? it's the staff in both the front office and hygienists that make each stop positive, calm, and sincere. Whether you're calling over the phone or speaking to the staff in person - you're their priority. The hygenists have a light touch, are sociable without being annoying, and thorough. You never need to request a certain hygienist because they're all very capable and on par with another. I recently moved states and the team cooperated beyond belief with my new dentist to provide current x-rays and even followed up to make sure they arrived. The administrator in the new office actually told me she had never experienced that sort of professionalism. I'm sitting at the new dentists office right now. It's just bothers me that these corporations use these tactics to manipulate us into spending more money in reality it doesn't benefit us. My children's school unexpectedly had a closed school policy for finals--even though I was still bringing two additional adult family members for cleanings that same day. Thankfully, I was able to make arrangements and still brought my kids to the appointment because of the great relationship I have with the school. When I voiced my concern about the rescheduling policy, the response I received was truly appalling: "Well, at least we accommodated you when your son was in the hospital." Let me be clear--my son was life-flighted to Memorial Hermann due to a life-threatening brain bleed. That traumatic experience was thrown back in my face as a justification for enforcing a cancellation fee. I was speechless. That comment was not only heartless but completely unprofessional. It's clear this office no longer values patient relationships. The staff seems more focused on their next group night drinking outing than delivering quality care or taking accountability. I've canceled all six of my family's upcoming appointments in June and July. A week later, I received a nasty letter from Amber Garcia herself--apparently unaware that I had already made the decision to take my family's care elsewhere.
