No dental practice will ever match how much I loved the team at Lathrop dental. Let me be perfectly clear, Dr Rob is a total bro and he's fine. I never had any issues like cavitaties and my visits were always preventative in nature. So why is Lathrop so special? it's the staff in both the front office and hygienists that make each stop positive, calm, and sincere. Whether you're calling over the phone or speaking to the staff in person - you're their priority. The hygenists have a light touch, are sociable without being annoying, and thorough. You never need to request a certain hygienist because they're all very capable and on par with another. I recently moved states and the team cooperated beyond belief with my new dentist to provide current x-rays and even followed up to make sure they arrived. The administrator in the new office actually told me she had never experienced that sort of professionalism. I'm sitting at the new dentists office right now. All I can think about is how the staff at Lathrop is hands down the best and I'll never have a dental team that meets their standard...ever No comment on the dentists except they need to give everyone a raise asap read more

I've been going here for the last few years never had a problem till today I was trying to get my teeth clean and they were trying to tell me that I had to take x-rays and I said I don't need x-rays. I don't have any problems I've already had my wisdom teeth out. So they told me that I couldn't get my teeth cleaned because I'm not doing the x-rays so my understanding is they want to do x-rays to get more money out of me because let's say they did find something wrong with something on the x-rays they would still have to have my permission to proceed to go forward to whatever they found. So if I told them no, I don't wanna do anything whatever they found they would say OK and they would clean my teeth so there's really no point on taking the x-rays if I don't proceeded to go forward with whatever they would find and don't forget I don't have any problems so why are you forcing me to do x-rays because they need or want more money. It's sad because they always have excuse saying all they don't wanna lose their license or blah, blah blah, even though the contracted paperwork at the beginning that we signed saying that we can't do anything, even if they broke a tool in our mouth. It's just bothers me that these corporations use these tactics to manipulate us into spending more money in reality it doesn't benefit us. And it's sad because I love this place but once you start adding more stuff just to get money out of my pockets when I've been going here for probably 5-6 years and never had a issue. they need to listen to their clients and their patients more than whatever they're trying to push on us, because at the end of the day we were the ones that pay their bills. Like come on man at the end the day we're calling you paying you to tell you what we need we're not paying you to tell us what we need because trust me if I had some type of problem in my jaw, I would definitely recommend getting an x-ray but I do not have any problems. And just to throw this out there I don't have insurance, so those 5-6 years that I've been coming here I've paid up front so they actually get my money the day of unlike you guys that use insurance so when you use insurance they don't get their money for about at least 2 to 4 weeks so for somebody like me that pays the day of they actually get their money that day read more

I went here to fix the clicking sound in my jaw and to have my teeth cleaned. I found out the did not take my insurance, but, i had my teeth cleaned. 150.00 I was told it would cost 10,000. To fix my bite. I was sent to a chiropractor for a massage. Then after teeth cleaning, i was told i needed a sonogram in order to see what needed to be done. Another 250. Then i was told that it would cost 60,000.00 to fix my alignment in my jaw. I might have felt better if he had said take your sonogram . Perhaps i could take it to another dentist. He said my partial was lose on one tooth so no good, can't take it off and would have to be replaced. The staff was wonderful, and the dentist s were seemingly good, but the cost was freaking crazy high! The place is amazing, so if you have a ton of money i guess it would be great, but for me, retired teacher, the experience was embarrassing to say the least. I even said can you give me another alternative, like not the Lexis version, but maybe the Toyota version that cost less. But no! I left feeling yucky, like do i mortgage my house for my teeth? Lol not at 72! Just to be clear, my negative review was all about price and how different it was like call backs on information or for appointment s after I questioned if we could do a less expensive route. Oh dear, where to begin. I guess we'll start with the front desk, you walk in and immediately you're greeted with a smiling face, and very warm hello and a "happy to see you!" Once you hit your second visit, they ALWAYS call you by name. They have you take a seat and you wait maybe, 5 minutes. I've never waited more than that, then one of the fantastic ladies comes up and takes yon to the back. Again, lots of smiles, warm hellos, and happy to see yous! The one thing that they told me about 10 times was "Well, you're here, and that's the first step." Once I went in for my deep cleaning, again they said "but you're here, and that's big!" There is absolutely zero lack of encouragement. They're all like a proud mom just cheering you on from the sidelines! They have two dentist, Dr.Lathrop, and Dr. Johnson, Dr.Johnson is who I see and he's so nice, and understanding! Again, he told me "well you're here." I even told him I really wanted veneers, he told me "If you want them I won't tell you no, but when I get done with your teeth, I don't think you'll even need them." I'm 30 and hadn't been to the dentist in 10 years, I destroyed my teeth. I, like most, was incredibly ashamed of them and myself confidence. A colleague recommended Lathrop dental to me and I can honestly say, they CHANGED my life. I literally LOVE going to the dentist now, and I'm only 5 months in to my 2-3 year journey. read more

I started taking my daughter to Lathrop Dental because I was looking for a second opinion and I had heard from several friends that they liked his office. They said he takes a conservative approach to treatment. I am so glad I did. The other office we were taking her to was suggesting 8 crowns on her teeth at the age of 16 and Dr. Lathrop gave us another approach. She needs to improve her dental hygiene and then make sure to use a prescription toothpaste to protect her teeth from further damage. She will still need crowns in the future but not until she is much much older. read more

To most parents with a child with ASD, the word 'dentist' is as terrifying as the words "quiet zone," "guided group activity," or a menu devoid of a child's preferred meal option. Just thinking about the dentist created an immediate panic attack when considering taking my son. I mean brushing teeth daily is a (literal) struggle!! I called and interviewed numerous different locations, I spoke to his therapists about how to prep him but I could never commit... until today. On Wednesday of this week I found some sort of reserve of courage and contacted Lanthrop to make an appointment for my son. I figured we would make the appointment in several weeks and just kinda tour the place, get a feel for it, and then come back and have a real appointment later. But the sweet woman on the phone somehow convinced me to come in two days later, understanding that I was scared and probably hearing in my voice that if she gave me an option, I would cancel. So today we arrived and from start to finish our experience exceeded any expectations. No screaming, no crying, and a complete cleaning was accomplished, in and out the door in under 45 minutes. Instead of having us wait in the waiting room we were immediately whisked back to an incredibly inviting playroom, and a movie was turned on. All forms were filled out on an iPad, which made things so much easier. The dental hygienist was amazing- her understanding of high functioning ASD, sensory processing disorder and child development were excellent. She was able to make my son feel comfortable and in control. She took her time and showed him the different instruments, let him touch them and see how they worked. She helped him get comfortable and choose a movie and then she did the quickest most efficient cleaning imaginable, giving him frequent cues about how long she was going to work until he got a break. She engaged him constantly, giving him gloves to wear, letting him practice cleaning her teeth, etc. Dr Lanthrop was equally quick and efficient, creating a positive experience for my son with constant praise throughout his exam. Afterwards he was excited to choose a toy from the treasure box, but the best present they gave him was taking the time after the appointment to stress to him what an amazing job he did. He was so proud of himself because he could tell they were proud of him too. I can't recommend this dentist or practice highly enough. Their ability to take something so scary for both my child and I and make it seem so effortless was appreciated beyond what I can say. read more

So far so good! I've been there twice. Once a routine cleaning and then today for a night gaurd fitting. The dentist said I needed one due to night time clenching and grinding. I don't notice any, I hope I'm not just being upsold. Anyway, since my insurance covers most of the cost I said OK. The assistants and staff are so sweet and kind there. You really feel like you are welcome there. I cleaning was super gentle, I really liked the hygienist I had. I am absolutely petrified when it comes to visiting the dentist. However, from the first time I walked through the door, I was immediately made me to feel at ease. The staff are truly exceptional, and really go above and beyond to make their patients feel safe and secure at all times. My daughter and I have been here for all the normal dental goodness. Very pleasant experiences every time. The staff is SOOO friendly! They have all the cool toys (aka modern dental tools) and use them appropriately. My daughter is quite the curious young lady, and they were happy to answer all of her questions. I had to get a filling between two very tight back teeth. The doctor did his thing (btw, he is a master with the needle - just sayin') and actually CHECKED HIS WORK when he was done. There was a small air pocket that he brought his people in to see (and to explain why it's important to check your work no matter how awesome you are or how long it's been since you made a mistake) and then quickly remediated it. They let you know that they offer cosmetic stuff like whitening and straightening without pushing you to buy these services. How refreshing! If you live near Cross Creek, I would totally recommend that you check them out - except that I don't want everyone flocking in and making it hard for me to get an appointment. ;) Kidding! I love this dentist!!! I just switched from the Dentist at Grand Parkway and I have been VERY impressed with Dr. Lathrop, his staff and the office. I have had a lot of dental work done in the past and I'm not sure if I have a tooth that hasn't been changed, drilled or adjusted in some way. I have always wondered if the old bite and tap or bite and grind method on the red or blue paper really worked and the fact the area that I can chew on has decreased I think proves that it doesn't. Within 5 min of looking at my teeth Dr. Lathrop identified my issue AND he has the technology to fix it. I just returned from getting my bite adjusted using this technology and it was very easy and pain free. It already seems to have helped and I think this may help my with jaw pain and frequent headaches in the long run. read more
