Terrible experience at this branch. Patients deserve better. I want to be clear that I was never rude or unkind. I simply asked for a second opinion, which is my right as a patient. My orthodontist told me there was unnecessary work on my treatment plan. From the moment I arrived, I was treated with disrespect. The front desk wouldn't even speak to me. Scarlet, the office manager, was pleasant over the phone but completely different in person. My first visit had been great, but this second one was upsetting. I felt like I was being punished just for wanting another perspective. The second dentist I saw at the same location agreed with the original plan which is fine I just wanted to confirm the recommendation. Dr. Anthony Nguyen, the original dentist, refused to speak to me at all, even though this was a scheduled appointment when he found out I was there for a second opinion. If you are in the Katy or Richmond area, I recommend going somewhere that treats patients with respect and values open communication. read more

My 9 year old son was sooo nervous about going to the dentist to get his checkup and teeth cleaned. My insurances BITES so they never picked up when I tried to schedule an appointment. Insert Mint Dentistry! I called and they have a program where you can pay for a yearly plan and it works like insurance. Yay! So off we went. The staff was so nice and we didn't have to wait long. Everyone did their job with precision and professionalism. They cleaned my sons teeth and he got to watch a movie while they worked on him. He even got some shades and a goodie bag! My friend came in for the first time a few weeks ago and got impressions of her teeth. She got the wrong trays (literally- the container said her name but they were very obviously not her teeth). They offered to redo the impressions and have her trays done in 30 minutes tops. We left, came back an hour later, and they STILL were not done. We waited for a rush pour and they still didn't fit. The office is sexy as advertised but honestly the staff was super friendly , the dentist was really nice and explained everything very well. He was also Persian which makes it even more Awesome. I have no idea where all the good reviews come from for this place. The hygienist and reception folks were great. Positive experience ends there. They identified multiple "cavities" and quoted me costs that were literally twice the cost of my first car. I was suspicious, so I got a second opinion. I have one thing that needs to be filled, and none of the expensive treatments they demanded are needed - in fact, the one thing I do need will be half the cost of the same treatment at Mint. This dental office is a fraud and does poor work. They charged out of network charges to do fillings for Same procedure i down before In order to get more money. Then injured me and did the fillings incorrectly while charging out of network amount. I had to go back and go through more pain to correct the fillings. I had fillings done in the past with them which I was advised by my nee dentist I have to have done again because of their poor work. I'm not paying to be injured and put through pain again. I made an appointment through their mobile app. Mint verified my appointment; however, I received several phone calls about my insurance all the way till the time of my actual appointment. I showed up and they still failed to verify my insurance information.....the receptionist asked me to call my insurance company... really?! How unprofessional.... I'm an active duty service member and already have a dentist here in Katy, TX. Mint told me I have to go to a military base to receive a dental exam. Really? How incompetent! Waste of my time. In response to your reply....it is very unfortunate that you have many dentists to offices and cannot figure out the insurance. Mint dentistry is advertised so heavily on the radio stations I listen to and my kids wanted to go so bad. It is not as advertised. It is like any other regular dentist. I don't recommend for children because the only thing they do is clean, if they need fillings or anything else they send you to a Childrens dentist. You might as well go there from the start. Before we moved to Katy my children lived going to Kool Smiles bc it was really caters for kids with indoor slide and play area and children's activities. I guess if they didn't advertise as being so fun, I wouldn't have expected it to be. I guess for adults and teens, it would be like going to any other dentist. read more

The dr told me i had to have a bone graft which was completely unnecessary and i was charged $575 plus the $140 for no insurance plan. Ok so I've been going to mint DENTISTRY for years and I have never had a complaint. I've always gone on time for my exams as well as my daughters. I recently went and was told that I need about 4 to 5 fillings. I was quoted a price and decided to go to another dentist for their opinion being that the price was a bit high from any other fillings I've received over the years. My total was about 1,500 and that's with ppo dental insurance. I ended up going to another dentist who informed me that I didn't need any fillings that he could see which is weird. I even asked for a third opinion so he then called another colleague to look at the X-rays I had and he saw nothing. I requested for them to take X-rays for an additional charge being that my insurance only pays for a set amount. After looking over the X-rays in the other office i was again informed that I didn't need any fillings. Now at this point I'm upset because I'm trying to figure out why mint wouldn't try and charge me for services that I do not need. After this I'll definitely be looking for a new dental office because I will not be paying for false diagnosis it's ridiculous. read more

Well I had my previous cleaning with them last June and so I decided to go back yesterday for another cleaning because I had an overall good experience the last time, but what was I thinking, Yesterday was very horrific. The lady by the name of 'lacy" I believe she was checking my gums and flossing before my cleaning and I just wasn't in the mood for long or short conversation I prefer to get my teeth cleaned in silence. So she basically got mad at me because I did not want to engage in conversation so in the midst of her working on my mouth she decides that she's going to get up. So i'm like okay thats fine just get someone else in here that actually want's to work , but meanwhile rinse the stuff out of my mouth while I wait, she told me to grab the suction and do it myself which is beyond me because I don't work there and the last time that I checked I was the patient and that is her job. Out of all of the years that I have been going to the dentist this is by far the worst one and I hope that she is held accountable for her wrongful decision making, oh and there is a sink in each booth , and not one time did I see anyone wash they're hands in between patients. read more

I do not recommend you bring your family here. I took my son in for a general exam and the dentist stated he had 5 cavities. She also stated that we needed to go to a pediatric specialist to do the fillings because they don't do them on kids under 8. My son is 7. We were very upset because they could of told us they didn't do certain things on children. But it turned out it was the dentist that did not feel comfortable working on children. So here we are today 7 days later at the pediatric dentist and guess what ? My son has no cavities! So why was I told he had 5 cavities? Wait times are long and the goal is to cover as many patients as possible in quick time. Their dental cleaning are very brief as compared to other dentists that I have seen. Went in for a cleaning and check up as I'm a new patient. Initially it was well. Front desk staff was great. Very friendly and attentive. Got there 15 min before my appointment to fill out paperwork. Waited a few before going back in the exam area. Sat for 10 min before the Girl came and asked basic "what brings you in" question. I explained I went to a dentist 3 months back and got a quote of the treatment I needed done so I know relatively what I need done. Either way she took X-rays which per office is a requirement I'm sure so no big deal. After the 30 min of X-rays, I waited for the doctor to come in. Another 15 min.. she came in and started telling me what I needed which I already knew. I scheduled a cleaning so I expected to come in for a cleaning. As most offices, they skipped my basic cleaning and told me I needed other things again, WHICH I ALREADY KNEW. She said she would get the hygienist and pricing for total work needed and brb. No tv. No music. No communication. No hygienist. Literally another 35 min later (I'm watching the clock) nobody came back in. I had to flag the front desk girl to ask for an update. She got my pricing for me and I left after sitting for over 2 full hours without receiving the basic cleaning I came for. I understand upselling but instead of price gouging and trying to convince me to get a special deep cleaning for $1000 after PPO insurance, try listening to the customer and handling what they came in for first. I had a terrible experience with MINT Dentistry. The first issue was with a filling. They injected the novocaine into my jaw bone and my jaw locked up. It was incredibly scary that I couldn't open my mouth for over an hour and they couldn't complete my procedure. I also had a whitening procedure there and my teeth hurt so much for 2 weeks but they were not any whiter at all. Please do not trust them with you dentistry!! read more

Came for a cleaning sat for almost 2 hours only getting X-ray after the dentist suggested deep cleaning which I was fine with however I set it up for a few weeks, anyway instead of getting a regular cleaning which was the purpose of my visit. The dentist tried to do a polishing instead. Which didn't make any sense to me. I have had regular cleanings and deep cleanings before. To me it was something to do so my visit wasn't a waste of time. After asking about the cleaning I was told she would polish them until I came back. Of course I left because what sense did that make. They advertise one thing and do another.... Mind you I have free teeth cleanings through insurance. I guess because I wasn't spending money for the deep cleaning she didn't have time to clean them period. Very upset and now looking for a new dentist who will actually do their job. I would give 0 stars however I will say the receptionist was awesome! read more

First time at this location and it was unpleasant to say the least. If I could have given it less than 1 star I would have. I have had great past experiences at Mint Dentistry offices in other locations so I would definitely recommend trying other locations out. This location has staff that lack customer service etiquette. Arrived at my 3:30 appt 15 minutes early and was not seen until 4:10. Waited another 40 mins only to be told at 4:50pm that I had to go to another location to receive treatment. Makes you wonder if they decided not to treat me because it was close to quitting time for them. Dentist also lacked professional etiquette as well as front office staff. So if you want good customer service, I wouldn't recommend this location. Hope this helps someone else from making the mistake of doing business here. read more

I had a dental exam and cleaning yesterday, and the visit was horrible!! I was told to wash my hands and rinse with Listerine in the restroom. The Listerine and cups were next to the toilet without a lid. I don't see how this is sanitary with germs spreading throughout the room when the toilet is flushed. I asked if there was some more Listerine that could be used. I was able to use listerine at a hand washing station. This was the 1st ted flag. I should have listened to my inner voice and left but I stayed. The dentist who is not pictured on the website, any billboards, or other advertising examined my teeth. He told me I needed to brush and floss my back teeth better to prevent cavities and plaque. He did not tell me I had 6 cavities!!!! I found out he had documented 6 cavities during the hygienist cleaning. I was told the receptionist would discuss with me. In the past, The dentist has always discussed cavities with me not the receptionist. I haven't had any cavities since I was a child, and now I have 6 and the dentist didn't mention it!!! I was furious!!! To make matters worse, the hygienist dropped the ultrasonic cleaner on the floor and said she need to wipe it off. Wipe off for what???!!! I asked her if she was planning to use it. She asked why? I said because you dropped it on the floor. She claimed she wasn't going to use it but I had to make sure. I agree with other reviews that this place is not as advertised. The radio commercials and ads are a bunch of lies!! This is not a first class upscale dentist office. I will not be returning and I pray my health has not been compromised. I was asked multiple times if I was comfortable , needed water, or wanted to listen to Pandora or a movie on Netflix. Their equipment is top notch which makes it more comfortable to relax in the dental chair. I usually don't post reviews, but I absolutely had to. I'm giving one star for the amenities. The people in the front are also nice BUT THATS IT! I came to this location in March. When I was first examined, I was given an extensive plan, that differed by $1000s from the previous Mint location i visited 1.5 years earlier. I was now told I had all these cavities and needed a possible root canal and my wisdom teeth extracted. I returned to do treatment to get my cavities filled. That's when ALL my problems started. After getting my fillings, I have been unable to bite down on either side of my mouth. I have come in several times ( six times to be exact) for a bite adjustment and told it's normal it will get better in a couple of weeks. And that everything looks normal...It's been about 9 months and it is still not better. I used to be able to bite ice, now I can barely bite bread. I finally quit and said this will just have to be my life. To make matters worse I now have this extreme pain on right side of my mouth. I went to mint yesterday for tooth pain, which I told the receptionist on the phone and she informed me to come in early in the event a procedure would be needed. When I go in I sign paper work for a bite adjustment. I tell the receptionist, "I think this pain is more than I bite adjustment." She tells me that they still need the paperwork signed. When I'm called into the back the technician confirms this appointment is for a bite adjustment, I tell her "I think I need more than a bite adjustment," and proceed to tell her about my symptoms how all my teeth on my right side are hurting, even teeth never worked on. The dentist comes in, "you are here for a bite adjustment" I'm now starting to get upset. I tell her my symptoms and she goes through each tooth on the X-ray and says "I don't see anything that will cause this pain, your cavities are filled like they are supposed to, and you have no new cavities." I persisted that the pain I was feeling was not due to needing an adjustment. She proceeded to do a sensitivity test, after seeing I wasn't going to let up. She found the area of sensitivity and said she would look up and notations regarding that tooth. TADAAAAA it said on the notation, that this tooth needs a root canal. She said "Oh the note was never finished and the referral was never done, this dentist is not longer here" I ask her why a referral was needed, because on the website it says they do root canals, she said no they refer refer them out and I would need to return for a crown. She offered to give me pain medication to "hold me over." I am now livid because this appointment was for nothing and there has been incompetence from everyone! I had asked a dentist at my first filling appointment about a root canal and she told me it was not needed. And now here I am 9 months later needing a root canal and having to go to another dentist to do it. Oh, but it gets better...I ask about the cost and was not that my max is almost used up so it would be best to wait until next year. I asked for an itemized report of all charges. I found out that I was charged for the bite adjustments, even though I was told they will be at no charge, LIES they charged them as emergency visits. Here's the icing guys...no meds were ever called in, and now it's the weekend. Yeah I'm done with MINT. read more

First off the decor of the office is lovely, had a chic yet homely feel to it (very much my style lol). Had a pleasant and warm welcome from the front desk and confirming insurance details/completing paperwork was quick and striaghtforward. During the visit, it was explained that a number of different dental professions would be popping in and switching out between patients (which I wasn't too fussed with but some people may have an issue with this). I just went in for regular cleaning which went smoothly; all of the staff were very professional, knowledgeable, and gave extra advice on caring for my teeth in between visits. They also provided a free take home teeth whitening kit which I appreciate but was under the impression that the teeth whitening service would be completed at the office, and that I would also get a kit to maintain the whitening at home.
