Everyone is very professional and the practice is absolutely spotless. Even though we've moved about 30 minutes away from this practice, we still make the drive to come here. Dr. Kumar is also wonderful, he truly cares about his patients and really spends time with you (even for a general cleaning). Definitely the best dentist we've had! Sheri was the angel I needed early Monday morning. She answered, and she was still at home because…read morethe office wasn't open yet. But she took my call and had me laughing in no time, which really helped because I was in so much pain. A little backstory, my braces were removed in 2021. A year later, my permanent retainer was moving my teeth. My orthodontist took full blame and put braces on the bottom of my teeth to correct them. The process was finished in April. Well, the left side of my head and face became very painful. The orthodontist said the retainer mold was wrong and replaced that... Fast forward, I moved to Texas, and now I'm at the doctor's because my face is swollen, and on to the Berkeley Eye Center. I'll spare you the rest. So now, I have the kindest woman named Sherri on the phone, who I consider a friend now. She told me to come on in, she'll send the paperwork through email, and she'll see me at two. She didn't stop there; once I got there and finished the exam, I thought I had to come back for them to put the proper braces on. Nope, Sherri said we can do the braces today, and they did! No more pain for me. Thank you, thank you so much, Sherri!

Example: I had received a few opinions that I needed my teeth removed. I came to Dr Justin Lai and he assured me that I didn't need removal, that my problem was different from the other diagnoses given by others. Also if you don't have insurance they have payment options you can explore. Text reminders for your appointment an hour prior, a courtesy call the day or two before to re confirm the appointment, a text sent with a link to update and/or fill out forms prior to your appoitment. Temperature check in front by the door. Parking lot is shared by other businesses but typically there is enough parking for you to not worry. I forget if there is a ramp and where, just in case. The Square doesn't have a dedicated stop light, so you may miss it and have to u turn, there is a turning lane but it's not long. The staff is great and kind and diverse.

Unfortunately, those warnings turned out to be absolutely right. For the past three years, Dr. Gray's office has consistently overcharged for routine procedures and added unnecessary services that insurance wouldn't cover--fluoride treatments for $50+, excessive x-rays, and more. Before the transition, I was never charged beyond my insurance coverage for standard bi-annual cleanings, but that changed immediately under Dr. Gray's practice. The only reason I stayed as long as I did was because my hygienist, Sandy, and Dr. Newman were still there. Both were professional, honest, and trustworthy--but they've now left the practice, which speaks volumes. On my last visit in February 2025, I was pressured to get additional x-rays despite recently having a panoramic x-ray (only needed every five years) and two sets of bitewings due to a recent root canal. When I questioned this, I was falsely told that I hadn't had x-rays since 2022. When I declined and explained I was only there for a routine cleaning, they claimed the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners wouldn't allow them to proceed without x-rays--an outright lie. Under Dr. O'Keefe, I was never forced into unnecessary x-rays. Frustrated by the dishonesty, I canceled my appointment and left. I was already fed up with the overcharging and deceptive practices, but what ultimately compelled me to write this review was discovering that they had the audacity to resubmit billing for my August 2024 root canal--despite the fact that I received no treatment that day. Thankfully, my insurance company caught the duplicate charge, making me question how often they've billed for services never rendered. On top of all this, the turnover in staff is alarming. Longtime employees have left, and the new front desk staff lacks professionalism. Daisy, who handles payments, is especially rude. I strongly urge you to avoid this dental office. The deceptive billing practices, unnecessary procedures, and lack of integrity make it clear that this office prioritizes profit over patient care. Stay far away!

To be honest , it felt rushed and I knew I was going to have issues down the line . Even when she did the tapping /dry ice test for sensitivity it hurt before/after we did the procedure . She instructed me to take anti inflammatory pills. As weeks passed by the pain would come and go randomly. I would mostly chew on the opposite side unless it's something softer. Fast forward, I had to get a different root canal done and because my general dentist was next door; I decided to give it another go but requested a different doctor (not good with remembering names ). She did an excellent job on my other tooth. I then expressed to her that I'm still in agony from the other root canal so she inspected it but could not find anything wrong! Even my general dentist didn't see anything. At that point I was defeated and just had to suck it up . A few months ago I called back to get it checked out again but was told that doctor was no longer there and that I would have to pay for the visit and procedure if they find the root of the problem. How is that fair especially since I spent so much money?! Yesterday and today is the worst it's been as for pain level so I had to take ibuprofen .

Overcharged a diagnosis payment to a patient This Endodontic (Contemporary Endodontics, Katy) overcharged me with diagnostic treatments, Cone Bean CT, to me for $250 instead of claiming to my insurance (Delta Dental). They are supposed to submit the payment to my dental insurance, but they charged me $250, so they can get more money than the insurance payment ($160). I had to verify the payment with my dental insurance and talked with the office manager (Karla) to submit the claim to the insurance. * Updated on May 18, 2022 (Service on February 23) Even though Delta Dental Insurance had issued a check for the claim, the dental office has not refunded my payment $250. I had to call more than 5 times and spoke with Karla, office manager regarding the refund, but it is not resolved it yet. 2. Abused a Code with a dental treatment to a patient This endodontic (Contemporary Endodontics, Katy) also overcharged me with a dentist treatment (Code: D3331) for $180. I had researched about the treatment that shows as a "Revenue Enhancement Code" according to the American Association of Endodontists. (https://www.aae.org/specialty/communique/cdt-codes-d3331-and-d2955-use-dont-abuse/) * Updated on May 18, 2022 (Service on February 23) I spoke with a representative in Delta Dental Insurance, the rep. said the charge above (Code: D3331) $180 should not be charged. It is in the part of root canal treatment that I paid for. I had to call more than 5 times and spoke with Karla, office manager regarding the refund, but it is not resolved it yet. 3. Wrong doctor's name on the claim statements Dr. Assad was an endodontist who had treatment for me, however, all my clam statements show that Treating Provider is Su Fong D Wan. 4. Hygienic status in the room and problem with X-ray The lounge was ok, but I was very uncomfortable when I got in the room for the treatment because the equipment had a lot of dust, the wall has dirty spots, disorganized equipment surrounded the room. The main problem I had; the assistant had to take an X-ray several times because the hand X-ray was not working. It was very painful to take an X-ray multiple times from a soared tooth (#3).
